- With the release of Ado's first album earlier this year, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at her career so far by reviewing every song she's released to date. What's the catch? All I get to review each song is just ten words or less. (And maybe a top 5 list here or there for good measure.)
Of course, everything stated in just my opinion. I don't hate any of these songs or anything. Something always has to be at the bottom, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad. And yes, I did get the idea to do a "10 words or less" video from JelloApocalypse. They walked so I could also walk. Is that how the metaphor goes?

Im so happy that FINALLY someone understand how absolutely friggin gorgeous Aitakute is. As someone who has had massive crushes in my past, it truly represents how it feels to be in love with someone. How you want to hold them and want to see them. I absolutely love this song. Gira Gira is my favorite but Aitakute is a very close second.
Aitakute was the song that introduced me to Ado. One of my favorite songs of all time
I personally really love Lucky Brute - it's one of my absolute favorites. For me, it's one of those songs that gets better every time I listen to it. Especially that bridge - the last note of it and how she just delivers and holds it is absolutely breathtaking to me.
But yeah, it's definitely quite a different style and not everyone's cup of tea.

This is my type of content. It's nice to finally find someone who likes Japanese music as much as I do. Ado has been my favorite artist since I discovered her last year. And yeah I agree that Usseewa is THE Ado song, not my favorite, but pretty damn close. Odo is such a bop though. #1 for me. Makes me wanna get up dance whilst punching things. And yes, I have indeed broken something while listening to it lol

Ado really does release a lot of bangers, to me Rabuka, and Odo, Usseewa are equal to my top 1. I am more into the "if it is memorable and catchy, it is top 1 for me" kinda thing
I agree with just about everything you said lol.
The only difference would probably be that one of her newest songs, "Eien No Akuruhi" would have to be my favorite. "Gira Gira" and "Readymade" are tied for close second, and "Aitakute" and "Usseewa" are tied for third.
It's so hard to pick favorites because just about all of her songs (including the covers) are absolutely incredible.
Ado is probably my new favorite artist.

This list has made me realise how many of Ado's sick tracks are covers! My memory immediately goes to her mad vocals singing God-ish and Bocca della Verità. As for fav originals, I'd go with Readymade and I'm a Controversy.

Wow this really shows how crazy subjectiveness is, I loved Lucky Brute and ANEMONE more than most of her songs; and I found Ussewa to be somewhat underwhelming, and I'd listen to Syudou's or Orihara's cover of it instead (not to say her performance on the track wasn't amazing).
Oh my goodness, I didn't think anyone else liked lucky Brute! It's honestly, hands down, my favourite song on the album. And I also think of domestic de violence as one of kanaria's best tracks (as they often sound like they are just trying to do what KING did). Whereas I'm not the biggest fan of FREEDOM and hanabi is honestly my least favorite song by her.
But I totally agree about what you said, lots of my favorites are other people's least favorites but some we agree on and I definitely know that no one is right or wrong so it's cool to see different people's listening backgrounds and how the reflect with their opinions on her songs.

like even if their vocals is liek 1000% so beautiful, if it doesn't mesh with the instrumental, it just falls flat
and then even if that criteria is filled for, i just feel incredibly meh if i just dont vibe
that said, everything about Ado blows my mind, and whether it's her originals like ashura chan or kagakushu, or her utaite covers, they're all incredible
You actually managed to express the FEEL of Ado's songs in and under 10 words. Ado's songs are so intense and I loved how you explained your favourites. I had not actually heard of aitakute before this video, but now it is definitely in my top 5.
Loving how finding new Ado songs, for me, is also leading me to amazing RUclips creators like you talking about this amazing singer

It's funny this was released a day before Eien no Akuruhi came out.
But anyway great video. I think my top 5 for her would
1. Odo
2. Ready-made
3. Ashura-chan
4. Freedom
5. Aitakute (piano ver)
Some of her features I haven't listened to yet, and I intentionally didn't consider Eien no Akuruhi to avoid recentcy bias (I do absolutely love the song though), but I feel good about this list.
Odo I think is the best song to showcase a little of all her abilities. You get a bit of everything and it all blends perfectly.
Ready-made is her best vocal performance imo. It's one of those songs where I'd tell someone to never cover it unless you got that range, and most people.
Ashura-chan is a ton of fun and trumpets are a cheat code.
Freedom I imagine would be the best song performed live with a band. I can see her controlling the crowd during the bridge with the "woah oh"s.
Aitakute's piano ver reminds me of an all time classic Disney song. It hits an emotion unlike any of her other songs.
I had been working on this for a while, and I couldn't go back and and add it to list because of how my editing software works, so I NEEDED it out before the new song. I just barely got it out in time lol. The song is an easy 8-9 for sure tho.
Ashura-chan just feels raw chaos coordinated with pure coincidence and that's somn I fucks with

I'm really glad I found this channel - I've only just got into J-Pop in mid-to-late 2020 and I don't know anyone else who listens to the same stuff, so it was great to hear you gush about Ado's music. I really needed to hear what someone else thinks about some of the songs that I've been listening to nonstop up to now.
Readymade is so underrated. I know its one of Ado first singles but I only see few people discuss about this song

Imo, odo should be higher really. Its the type of songs that gets better every time you hear it, especially lucky brute and kokoro to iu na no fukakai.
It's really nice to listen to your opinions, your content is truly awesome! I have being finding a lot of musics that I end up liking through your reccomendations (Also yeah, just listened to Additional Memory and holy fuck that is incredible)
I would like to make some recommendations too! I don't remember you talking about those before but, Eve and Zutomayo (Zutomayo is actually a group, the singer is ACAね,) are two of my favorite Japanese Singers, I find their works amazing. Eve also has a song with Hatsune Miku too, although neither him or zutomayo are know from vocaloid stuff, but I really love their songs, I would be happy if you tried it too! Keep up with the nice content man, you're awesome :)

Really good vid, even though I disagree on some songs but thats a given when talking about a topic as subjective as music. I, for example, really dig songs like Anemone, Stick Candy or Osmanthus because I kind of like the lighthearted upbeat nature of the songs and they give of a special vibe for me. I agree that they dont really compare to the others when looking at them more "objectively" but I think they're a nice change up. And for kyōgen, the album, my favourite songs were FREEDOM and Motherland but after all, this shows, just like you said, that Ado is just so incredible that all of her songs are really close to each other and all shine in one way or another. Hopefully there will be another one of these videos in a year or so, I'll make sure to watch it :)

readymade, usseewa and odo are still my favourite by far, with love ka and (ik this song wasnt included but) God-like I sang following close behind
i love the mix of jazz, anger and relatability to this song, i understand the lyrics and i get the feeling, i dont wanna grow up either (also this might be a mistranslation but somewhere in the song it goes "i'll dance a life of grownups just for the taste of money, of loving" my japanese - english isnt the best)
usseewa was the first huge hit and its a timeless classic when it comes to ado, still a hit even in 2023
odo is super underrated, i love the absolute shockwave that comes in the final moments of the song
love ka was an interesting one, i didnt really enjoy the song at first but after giving it a few listens i got hooked, ados voice really surprised me here since it was so strange and far off from what she normally does, but at the same time it fits super well
God-like I sang is a song that released 4 months after this video and its safe to say that its one of her best (imo its on level with odo and love ka) the song really shows ados versitility within her singing voice

My favorite Ado song is All Night Radio, she won me making songs from One Piece and All the songs in the soundtrack are pretty amazing and versatile
I am one of ados biggest fans and I mean it, I was kitteraly in her top 300 fans on Spotify last year in the wrapped out of over 6 million listeners now and I have listened to every single ado song and choir, going out of my way to add her covers myself that aren't on Spotify and I have to say, out of every cover and song, Usseewa is the best you can get, it was my top song and I've listened to it nearly 500 times last year alone, I will never get sick of it and will always scream out when it comes on, I can recite the English and Japanese version to usseewa by memory and I don't get sick of it, even with all the people I know irl that I've completely annoyed with how much I talk about Ado, they've all atleast listened to Usseewa, most atleast a couple others but no matter how much they lie and say it's bad and ado is bad just to get at me, they all admit Usseewa is one of their top songs and Ado is actually good
There is another official remix of Odo that you may have missed. it was an 「Odo」× asmi「PAKU」remix made for McDonalds Japan
Don't worry, I am WELL aware of that remix. I had some really mixed feelings on it initially, but the more I looked into things, the more I found out that it actually has an incredibly fascinating history.
This needs to be updated to match up with the anime One Piece Film Red, her usage in other movies, then there is the Halloween event in Universal Studios, and of course Spy x Family.
Just listened to Eat and DAMN.
Might be my #1 or at least close to it.

I mean, tbh, all of Ado's songs are absolute bangers I even have a playlist of all their songs
it's really funny, when I first listened to aitakute I was reading Kamisama no iutoori II around chapter 90 or so when Akashi and Tasuku were the only ones left(if you read the manga you'll know) some dramatic thing happened I wouldn't have cried if the song aitakute didn't play, I cried like crazy because the song have such an impact so like I've put the song in loop probably more than 5 times haha. though our taste are incredibly different, "Odo" is actually the very least song I liked, sure there's some punches I like but it's not one of those songs I'd like to repeat or else I'll end up being sick of it. maybe because I'm more attracted more to sinister/froliscome energy, so here's my top 5:

I really like all of her msuic for One Piece Film Red so far. I'm definitely going to have to agree with you on Gyakko. I absolutely lost it when I first listened to it. Her performance was so mind blowing.
It seems like somebody really likes the usseewa "HUHHH", not complaining about the use of it, had me waiting for that to continue, I kept getting jebaited thinking the lyrics were gonna continue
stick candy was indeed short and feel it's not enough but it genuinely left a huge impression to me. For me it was a masterpiece
I think 過学習 deserves higher I don’t know why I like it so much but Ados voice is really powerful in that song and sometimes I just want to listen to how it sounds also of course うっせぇわ is the top one it deserves it she works so hard. ❤

it's always a pleasure listening to it, and im a sucker for songs exploring the psyche of the singer (in this case, the song references the person losing their identity and free will in a prim and proper society)

When I want a powerful voice which hits like a hammer, it has to go to Ado. The brief sections of raspy vocals is strategic with Campanella and gira gira.
Also, have you checked out TUYU? All their songs have so much to cover in analysis, along with being catchy af.
I absolutely love Tuyu! Her style is very unique, the way she almost always starts with the chorus, and the way her songs develop through its course is very different and cool. Also, they are indeed full of fuel for analysis.

I haven't actually heard a TON of Inabakumori, but I've liked just about all thag I've heard. My favorites are Lagtrain and Rainy Boots tho. Lagtrain in particular still doesn't get old lol.

They're all worth listening to imo. A lot of the lower rated ones are mostly more niche styles that I didn't click with as much, but I don't think any of these songs are actually bad. I hope you find something new that you enjoy if you decide to check those out!

I'm a huge fan of vocaloid producers like Jin, Harumaki Gohan, and Kemu! I highly recommend basically of of their music, but especially songs like Additional Memory (Jin), Mirage (Harumaki Gohan), and Ikasama Life Game (Kemu). On the more J-pop/J-rock side, I've really been enjoying The Oral Cigarettes this year. Their song, BUG (no relation to the kairiki bear one), has been stuck in my head for months. Aside from my personal favorites, you seem like you might like Tsumiki. Phony was a huge song last year, and I've been in love with Culture since it came out a few months ago. I hope you find some new music that you really enjoy! I reccomend a ton of other stuff in some of the other videos on my channel, as well as a few playlists I made to accompany them, so you can always check some of those out as well if you want a wider variety of songs to try out!
