You always get asked, "When do I promote my 19 year old Messi to the first team?" so this might be a good video to just point them to. Thanks Z.
When do you do promote your 19 year old Messi? Some people just don't give enough game time to young players and just try to loan them, that works too.

I know man. I have short passing, play through the middle and work ball into the box on. But the majority of goals I score are still crosses/plays from wide players
You have 3 different kinds of formation; a defense, normal and attacking. What is the difference between the formations? is it only the tactic or is it the hole formation? I'm a new player, so I don't know if it is a stupid question haha
Tactics is my favourite part of the game. It’s a shame that there are so many great value advanced forwards in the game that push you towards 4-2-3-1. I tend to tweak a lot game to game, depending on the opponent, from that base to keep it fresh. I’m tempted to play as Athletic Bilbao to force me into something more unusual
I know! I keep looking for F9 and DLF strikers, but they are few and far between. Everyone is an AF or pressing forward, so you either have to use an AMC out of position or compromise with a forward lacking vision and passing.
@@topoisomerace I've just switched to 4-3-3 actually as I thought it would get more out of my midfield two who both have lots of energy and are good dribblers, rather than shackle one. I noticed that my advanced forward "likes to play with back to goal", so even though it's not his preferred role I'm using him as a a complete forward on support. He's just scored a hat trick and got mom, when previously he'd been a bit underwhelming as my 'star player'. So goes to show you can't rely too much on what the game indicates to you is their preferred role while building your system
Hi from Nottingham U.K Zealand, great video dude as usual.. Should I step up from FM19 to FM20 I've rekindled my FM love thru watching your videos and been playing a Bologna save going for about a year in the job.. should I upgrade ?? 🤷🏾♂️
I can get 4231 to work no problem but I want to change and play around sometimes. I started a 41230, no striker Attacking advanced playmaker in the middle and 2 inside forwards on attack to cover for the lack of striker, won all pre season games, yes some in china but lazio, psg and atleti so not all easy but as soon as I got into the season it went downhill. 0-0 draw against Chelsea which I dominated (17 shots to their 2, 10 on target to their 1) then a losses Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and a few draws thrown in proved the final straw and I went back to my previous save with the trusty 4321 Anyone got any tips or ideas to try and make something of it I was arsenal BTW
Hey Z. Sorry I know this video came out a while ago but I was struggling with something. I've taken the reins at Worthing in VNS, and we aren't particularly strong or good in the air. In fact while one of our CBs (the captain) is a slow brick wall and an aerial presence, his partner is 5'11" with good marking/tackling/positioning and pace/stamina but only 5 jumping reach and strength lol. I went over my team's strengths and weaknesses compared to other teams in the league and our only standouts are passing (including vision from defence), marking and tackling (especially in midfield), good pace at the back but less in midfield, and fortunately good teamwork and workrate across the board. With the physical discrepancy between our two CBs, would you say a deeper or higher defensive line is suitable? I wanted to play a compact counter-attacking style mostly on the ground, but because arguably our standout strength is passing, I'm not sure if that means we should look to dominate the ball against bus parkers or if we should try to play risky passes a lot. It's tough to decide on more direct passing or simply higher tempo too, as I don't want high balls hoofed from my 3 vision 5'11" CB into my technically gifted 5'8" advanced forward lol. I did sign a strong target forward but can't get along with 442 and we don't have wingers good at crossing anyway. They're more pacey, flair IW types. My tactic is apparently working as we're top of the table after 30 games, but it might be a different story if I get to VNL and find myself getting pinned back defending in most games. Mr 5'11" might then only cut it as a cover duty CB in a trio of CBs. Thanks for any feedback you might have.
If you join the OmegaLuke discord ( go to his channel by the way it’s great ) there’s a guy called Ryan Cassidy who makes incredibly op tactics if you can’t be bothered yourself :)
Does the teams get used to your playing style? I just finished my fifth season with Aston Villa and finally won the whole thing, and now with the same tactics and almost same players i just get beaten and beaten.

I know how FM works. You know how FM works. We all know how FM works. Do you really believe that if you play with "full wolf" against Bayern Munich or Manchester City or Barcelona (that kind of teams) the game will let you be so offensive? With your defensive line that high i think it will be a matter of time before some long ball passes behind your defence from the game and either Aguero, Messi etc will have eye cotact with your keeper. Nothing against your tactic, just you know how this game works! Interesting video by the way.
So how do you defend against teams like these? My opinion is to press high but not too high. I mean high defensive line, very low offensive line and just press them on the midfield. Don't let them organise their game through the middle.
@@MrEimaiegw I play for CSKA Moscow. I usually play on standard defense line and high offense line, intense gegenpress because high defense line is suicide

What happened to the Dortmund squad
Godly intro
Great videos, loving the content! Any advice for a 442 narrow diamond?
Make a tactic? What’s wrong with 4231 gegenpress?
Every time I go into a game Emi Buendia (Norwich) is anxious, is there a way to stop this
New marking system?!! Have you done a video on that, please?
whats the intro song boss
Why not man mark?
@@michaelc.1710 I agree. I wish the game would do away with those green/yellow/red dots or implement them better because as is they are misleading.
Hi from Nottingham U.K Zealand, great video dude as usual.. Should I step up from FM19 to FM20 I've rekindled my FM love thru watching your videos and been playing a Bologna save going for about a year in the job.. should I upgrade ??
🤷🏾♂️
@@ZealandonYT thanks dude, keep up the good work & thanks for the advice 🤘🏾😎
So what about Player Instructions?
You give your fullback the number 9 shirt?!
make video which player traits are the best for role of players :D
4-2-3-1 Gegenpress. Tactic done.
As someone managing Flint Town I know why I hate TNS, but why are they so hated that he seems hesitant to use them as an example?
I can get 4231 to work no problem but I want to change and play around sometimes. I started a 41230, no striker
Attacking advanced playmaker in the middle and 2 inside forwards on attack to cover for the lack of striker, won all pre season games, yes some in china but lazio, psg and atleti so not all easy but as soon as I got into the season it went downhill. 0-0 draw against Chelsea which I dominated (17 shots to their 2, 10 on target to their 1) then a losses Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and a few draws thrown in proved the final straw and I went back to my previous save with the trusty 4321
Anyone got any tips or ideas to try and make something of it
I was arsenal BTW
You need to make slight adjustments to a tactic as you go, because naturally teams will learn how to play against you
I play as Newcastle. The secret to creating a good tactic with those players is... you don't.
Idk what you're doing wrong but im currently 4/5 with them my own tactics
@@OLIVERWG0909 what formation and system are you using?
@@ManAsCrasp 4-1-2-2-1 with cautios/contra and then another 4-1-2-2-1 positive, which I mostly use with mid table teams and then an attacking 4-2-4 which is somehow does wonders
@@OLIVERWG0909 ive found in FM that there is something to "the element of surprise" and completely shocking a team with a super unique formation sometimes it does wonders against the best of the best and sometimes you get your salad tossed by 3rd league sides xD
@@mrorlov2706 If you see results then it's ok. Every time i tried to keep my defense line back and put the offense line high the opponent was having a party in my middle field😆
