@rockykanaka there's a short I've watched where someone fostered/adopted one American bull dog puppy (pit bull?) And then a second pit bull puppy, both blind, and one thing she did was put hula hoop on them - attached in some way to their harness - so that they wouldn't bump into walls or whatever.

I’m a senior citizen and really can not afford to own a dog because of the cost of food and health care. I have found the perfect solution for me…I foster small dogs from my local rescue center. The dogs I foster usually have a health issue or need longer to recover from surgery and I’m their quiet recovery place. My 1st foster was a 10 year old Miniature Pinscher who had heart worms and she was with me five months and recovered and was adopted. Fostering is an excellent way to help your local rescue group and it’s so rewarding.

I do emergency fosters. Usually they are with me between 2 weeks to 2 months, no longer coz I do too much traveling. The pure bred dogs get adopted fairly quickly but the mixed breed usually takes longer. My current foster is a 8 months old sweet boy who is extremely loving and sweet. I am always heart broken when they leaves. Cried lots but I gotta let them go no matter how wonderful they are and how much I love them. My job is to heal them physically and mentally with lots of love and attention. Please spare some time to help a life. It is just a few weeks or months but you would have save a life. Respect fosters coz the emotional up and down is torturing, loving them and then letting them go is extremely hard.

I have a double merle deaf/vision impaired dog who, along with a deaf brother, and blind sister were dumped on a dog rescue, which is where I found him. They came from a breeder who makes a habit of irresponsible breeding and just dumping the disabled dogs onto shelters and rescue groups.
I fostered him, but it was really after only a week or so that I knew in my heart I wouldn't be able to let him go. He's just turned three and living his best life. It's my job to make sure that despite someone treating him like a piece of irrelevant garbage as a baby, he gets to experience as many happy, fun moments, as much love and affection as he can stand, and the security of knowing he's extremely loved and wanted.

@@asterismos5451 Touch commands, I imagine, since visual and audio commands are useless. With a harness and a lead, dogs can pick up on a lot of body language. A light tap or pressure on the lower back to indicate "sit," a slight pull on the lead for "come/follow," and the like. Some things might require more context for the dog to understand, but you should be able to get the basics across with a little time, patience, and positive reinforcement. Having a second dog to help get the message across would be very helpful, as they can pick up the commands the impaired dog misses and guide them with their bodies and touch... and the comfort to them of having another dog around for companionship is immeasurable.

Definitely domesticated kittens there! The ears are the dead giveaway - the points on bobcats looks like a black rose thorn sticking up from the ear, and the back edge of the ear is rimmed with black. Those scared babies have normal kitten ears. Things that are harder to tell because there’s more overlap with domestic cats - if these were bobcats, the tail would be shorter, the jaw/jowl more prominent, and they’d have spots instead of stripes.
Sissy is such a sweetheart. Hoping there’s updates soon!

Thank you, Rocky. My last dog was both blind and deaf in her later years, but she still had such a thirst for life up until the end. Seeing this beautiful girl made me cry missing my little one.

I live in Australia, otherwise I would adopt her in a heartbeat. Having worked with people who have dual sensory impairments, she would have the best life with my family. She is so precious xxx

Aww how can no one want such a love bug!? She’s crying for love and attention and affection. She deserves it all. Horrible to abandon a deaf and blind dog 😢

What also helps these dogs is to use one of these shock collars with the shock function removed. They often have a vibratory "pre-warning" stage. This can be used for example to replace a clicker or to give a limited set of commands like stay or sit from a distance.

I use to dog sit a blind and deaf dog. They are so clever, she'd remember the layout of my house and where all the chairs were and could navigate perfectly. Dogs are simply amazing, nothing keeps them down😊

She’s so lucky to be alive and so lucky to have such a receptive and friendly personality. If I had the means she’d be mine. I am an artist and don’t ever really leave home. I miss having a pet and companion. ❤

I'm only 7 minutes in and I can already tell she's been bred multiple times and when she fully lost her site the original owners got rid of her.... That makes me sad and I hope she gets the home she deserves. 😢❤❤❤

It's pretty amazing how dogs adapt. She looks to be very energetic and probably needs a younger family that matches her energy. I know you will find her the best forever home. Prayers for this sweet girl.

So, you know the animal is blind, cannot see, and deaf, cannot hear ? How is that a good life. Maybe with an elderly, disabled person, but not an energetic family with children. It's more selfish to keep the animal just to have it alive.

@@IbelongtoJesus. Well, I disagree. She's full of energy and would do well with a like-minded family. She would be too much for an elderly or disabled individual. She's made it thus far and in a good forever home she should excel.

The sweet girl I have te pleasure of doggy-sitting a fair bit, is laying on my bed while I logged on this morning. As soon as Rocky began sitting/connecting with dear sweet Sissy - being deaf and blind - I guess she can't actually hear herself whining/crying - every time Sissy cries, my friend's dog sits straight up looking concerned, looking for the sad doggy she can hear crying with Rocky. It's SO SWEET
