Absolutely agree. This reality is not for everyone though. Brian pointed out that they are using WFH to attract TALENT. This means there are many low-skilled workers who are still working the front desk or service-based businesses. However: if you are gaining skills and growing your career I expect you'll have A LOT more flexibility than ever before.

There's one other aspect that in hindsight they forgot to touch on. It's not just that WFH is the golden standard for any person looking for a job, the pay MUST be calculated to fit with inflation. We're going into record high levels for 2022 and people may not be able to afford to travel if they can't even afford the basics of living. If anything, it's going to be a slow year again and it will be until 2024 when we finally get a president that puts our economy first and opens up travel fully. That's the only way.

Airbnb does not honor their host guarantee. Makes hosts provide all evidence, most of the times in vain where a case just gets closed and hosts are left holding the bag. They raised their fees on guests from 9 to 14% but didn’t make much mention of that. Plus what they take from hosts. Reservations do come in through there but don’t ever count on their “support”, even less on their “guarantees”.

I,m a host for the last 3 years. I"ve discovered things about travel that no one would likely believe. My Airbnb has young professionals that come and stay, work remotely and enjoy the sights and attractions of my city. This is something no one could have imagined.
Secondly "staycations" are a big thing now. People from the burbs or just tied up working from home during the pandemic started to crawl the walls in their own pads. Staycations kept me in business.
My biggest problem is since Airbnb went public is that the community aspect of home sharing and helping showcase our cities, places and community are going to be compromised by what shareholders ...probably the ultra rich ...will degrade in the name of money. I dont want to be a business partner to a sociopathic capitalistic fake "woke" company.
Parties are being phased out by hosts and Airbnb .

Who gives a fuck. You have 20 airbnb listings and you're complaining about people complaining. I watched an entire village get airstriked when I was in Yemen.

@qwejqlewj fadfasfsdafas Good try. But the reason yemen is getting airstriked is from greedy people like OP who complains about issues with their 20 airbnb listings.

For starters, I would probably look at the data for the size of the property being rented, type of property, past noise complaints for the property, and past complaints against the renter from other hosts. You won't get a guarantee of a party, but you may identify higher risk profiles. Even the date of the reservation can give you information.

AirBnB - I hope you go out of business one day. Customers service are the worst. Hosts take pics of places and when you come there it looks way different than what you get. AirBnB doesn’t follow local and state and countries housing laws. They only care about making money, and could careless about you or the host. recommend people get short term rentals from apartments or if you are young, stay at hotels that have bunk beds. The future of travel for me is to live in one place a year or less and move to another place, that way you don’t have to travel at all, but go there and live for at-least 6 months and move. I’m pro with digital nomads.

The safety comments alarm me. Anyone of these big companies or governments for that matter looking to "increase safety" screams big $$$ to the data companies that harvest all our data and whatever ways used to monitor people. I dont like more control mechanisms. Less boxes, physically and/or energetically.

I was lucky enough to travel in the Golden Age of Flying back in the '50's and '60's and early '70's. My dad was an executive with Pan American Airways and we traveled the world, First Class. We slept in berths and ate Chateaubriand. There were porters to handle your luggage and we were dressed in our Sunday best. I could tell the difference of a great or mediocre Bernaise sauce by the time I was 10 y.o.
Traveling now is like being in the Dark Ages and is vulgar and common, surrounded by rif raf ready to punch out the cabin crew, squeezed into seats that are meant for a 10 y.o. I still would like to see many places, but getting there is a grueling punishment. Only the super rich can afford First Class on Emirate Airlines.
After lockdown, I am now housebound and uneasy and anxious going further than in my 5 mile bubble of doctors, groceries, pet groomer and a few restaurants that survived. I think I have PTSD from it all and understand how people must feel, that were kidnapped and locked up. I guess it's just fallout from being old (71)...dammit to hell. The world has changed and not for the better. Sad.

People will continue to travel, even more so. However, they will be staying put in one place for longer. So things like cheap airlines with crappy service will hopefully decrease since people will hop from place to place less often. I hope so anyway. The flying experience is terrible. I would gladly pay more for a better flying experience.....
