15:50 I agree with Brian about immense opportunity to help connect people as the foundationally important need and unmet need that Airbnb can uniquely help enable.
Those answers Brian gave must have been pre-made, he did amazing in this interview on how he answered questions. I’m impressed if it was off the top of his head or maybe he’s been answering these questions many times before like Elon does.
regarding pre-made answers, probably yes: most executives who have to report to investors or media generate a list of 10-20 questions that they know by heart. Most questions they get asked are along the same lines and can then be rephrased into one of those 10-20 that they know by heart.
I still have annual anniversary meetings with all the AirBnB hosts I stayed with. Just kidding, of course. I get the impression that we less and less meet hosts thanks to technology, and that this widens the market for AirBnB travellers, therefore I am surprised that he says that they foster connections. Isn't AirBnB more about convenience and interesting places?
The less choices, the easier to decide. Now with 0 choices, how convenient decision making will be. Not sure if it will be a good thing at scale. But very good product for AirBnB as long as my data can be secure, which will not be so I am not sure how they will implement this.
Airbnb's AI decided that a home in the prairies was a ski cabin. This was because there were photos of snow 😂. They didn't allow for the airbnb staff to have the ability to override this 😂 Sorry, but AI is kinda stupid and this is an example. Everything will be sooooooo messed up if there is no human control over AI!!! This will be a worse problem very soon. Ugg 😮😅😂

This is a low key visionary. Airbnb will be the new Facebook.

Amazon is ok but was great.
Isn’t it amazing that Airbnb was getting booted out by city of SF in the early years and now they’re now asking for help? Karma.
