Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
I know this is out of pocket, but I need to replace a brake line on my '90 F-150 and I'm tryna determine if a copper or a steel line would be better. Any help would be appreciated
What's amazing is that every time I've seen him do this act he uses the lines "This scares the melon" and "This wounds the melon" which get laughs. I think he actually misses those two on purpose so he can use those lines.
I saw him in The Prestige in a small role (he had a bigger one behind the scenes as a consultant to the production crew), he was also in Tomorrow Never Dies, Boogie Nights and Magnolia!
Was I the only one that thought the two cards that were next to each other were going to be the jack of spades and the 4 of diamonds... now that would of been impressive
This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Ricky Jay's talent. He once made a journalist speechless by making a huge block of ice appear on the table instantly - during an interview at a diner of the journalist's choosing.
You can see the last card, which is not a playing card, being pulled out of his pocket/dropped out of his sleeve. Loved Ricky. Great soul. Really loved him in Tomorrow Never Dies. Great creep vibe for a Bond Villain/henchman.
Ricky was a very interesting man. He wrote a number of "Learned Pigs & Fireproof Women", "Dice: Deception, Fate, and Rotten Luck", he wrote books on magic history, books profiling notable historic magicians and con men. He ran a very successful consulting business called "Arcane Knowledge on a Need-to-Know Basis" for Hollywood and theaters designing props for Oscar winning movies and Broadway. To tell you a bit about his character in his famous book "Cards as Weapons" he insisted all the hand models used for pictures in the book were topless women. Why was that...because why not. He studied under the one of the kings of card magic starting when he was just a teenager. The big downside is after many years he developed really bad back problems and by the 1990's and early 2000's his abilities to throw cards was quite a bit diminished. He used to be able to embed the entire card into the watermelon, cut cigarettes, and do other such things. But his abilities to throw and perform magic shows while standing just slowly deteriorated. He ended up doing much more table side sleight of hand, and much less often.
I never realized this guy was a magician so I never understood till now his inside joke in mystery men when he said he’s lawyer, not a magician It’s pretty weird cause That’s the first movie I saw him in and I always thought he was just a random actor lol
Marlo Thomas. Her Wikipedia page says " She is best known for starring on the sitcom That Girl (1966-1971) and her children's franchise Free to Be... You and Me." Weirdly, she did not have any projects come out in 1992, so I can't tell what she was there to promote. My best guess: she had a book come out in January 2002, so maybe she was there to promote the paperback, as sometimes happens?
RIP Ricky Jay! Also, RIP Jackie Chan’s career and reputation. Sellout to the CCP who betrayed his own people in HK. Don’t get to know your heroes too well I guess
A feat so impressive i am forced to mention it myself.
6:00,😊

An underrated joke. I love that Conan laughed hard though.
Dude is a real showman. He was showing card skills and still, was funnier than most standup comedians.

When you can impress Jackie Chan, you know you're doing well!
R.I.P. to a legend.
“A feat so impressive I am forced to mention it myself” bruhhhh💀💀💀
Old post i know but how awesome would it be if he revealed those two cards to be the jack of spade and the four of diamonds
What's amazing is that every time I've seen him do this act he uses the lines "This scares the melon" and "This wounds the melon" which get laughs. I think he actually misses those two on purpose so he can use those lines.
Never knew this man before but i was entertained and now I'm sad that he's no longer with us
Oh no
I saw him in The Prestige in a small role (he had a bigger one behind the scenes as a consultant to the production crew), he was also in Tomorrow Never Dies, Boogie Nights and Magnolia!
4:32 “Look at that he’s blocking them! That’s ah pretty amazing!” LMFAO I exploded 😂
Daum jackie Chan looks so fresh right here
Was I the only one that thought the two cards that were next to each other were going to be the jack of spades and the 4 of diamonds... now that would of been impressive
I had the honor of working for Ricky one year- what a talent and a sense of humor he had ❤

Is it on tape (RUclips)?
@@user2144 she recounts the story in Deceptive Practice
It was actually dai Vernon who did that trick first. He was Ricky’s mentor.
Conan was really vibin with this dude 😂
Magicians are seriously wicked entertainers!! I can’t get enough.
Jackie Chan is so cool, he deflects those cards with a huge grin on his face. He loves the arts.
4:05
he Appeared from nowhere
Classic Jackie Chan
The opening card trick is so amazing people barely clap. They're just like "... wow will you look at that..."
It was pretty simple. He shuffled once or twice keeping the card on top of the deck. It’s very easy to do.
4:29 Jackie really saw that one in slomo
Wow the dexterity this man had baffles me ! What a great showman !
Long live the legend! Thank you for your contribution to world of magic.
“Let’s cook” LMAO
RIP Maestro
I love Ricky's humor
You can see the last card, which is not a playing card, being pulled out of his pocket/dropped out of his sleeve.
Loved Ricky. Great soul. Really loved him in Tomorrow Never Dies. Great creep vibe for a Bond Villain/henchman.
Ricky Jay had a card throwing bit that was deleted from Tomorrow Never Dies, but it is accessible. I enjoyed that scene.
Jackie Chan blocking cards thrown by Ricky Jay.🃏🃏🃏 you dont see that every day.
"This Scares the Watermelon" sounds like an amazing title to a book
Netflix horror film
Ricky Jay was the GOAT
I want to go shopping with whoever picked that watermelon.
Lol
It was none other than...Jim Carey
I know this guy from the X files but I never thought he is an actual real live magician.
when he threw & caught the card !
thatt was awesome

RIP Ricky Jay. 2018.
He's a genius... Good actor too.. Boogie Nights and Deadwood...
I remember him from Mystery Men. He was a real showman.
RIP ricky jay
Ricky Jay was a deal in the series Deadwood
Jackie Chan hair is so nice now
Ricky Jay gives me life.
That melon never stood a chance 🍉
It’s a real trick Jackie
You're out of breath fighting a watermelon
Great tricks, wonderful to see Marlow Thomas hubba hubba!
"Are you giving me shit, Kurt?"
You don't want to trick this guy at a poker game, he'll slice you with his cards.
Given the company Jay has kept, I doubt you could trick him at the poker table.
Ricky Jay really grew on Coco
just awesomeness! so much fun!
KINETIC CARD!
KINETIC CARD!
ROYAL FLUSH!!!
The early 2000s were something.
His humor, from time to time, reminds me of Mitch Hedberg
“Gentlemen, watch the felt...”
Loved him in deadwood.
Seen this dude in an episode of the X files
I think he had long hai for Shanghai series noon and knight 😂

A deck of Uno cards is considered a weapon of mass destruction in his hands.
Can't believe the guy I knew from magnolia was a card master! RIP Ricky
Sameer Ahmed - I totally get you
now I have become death the destroyer of Mellon

This man was fantastic in The Unit. Any fans of The Unit?

Sorry, i had to...
Adam Savage sent me !
This man is really talented
I like this guy
Watermelon must've been in-season.. Lol. Opposed to "out of season & dreadfully expensive."
S.J. PERELMAN
Wow! I didn't know the camera man of Boogie Nights was a magician
He’s in The Prestige as well as the showman Angier and Borden are working for when the drowning incident happens!
damn that was cool
Slow for the Cone Zone!
Shame they didn't include this skill in the Bond movie but cut it out instead...
Is on yt
WOW @young Jackie Chan
should burn all those couches, but RJ is always a pleasure
7:13 he pulled out a very special card. Smooth trick
Wow! The Amazing Maleeni! 😍
(Yeah, I'm old. )
I feel like Jackie should do a movie about a guy who throws cards at people. Mabye give it a gambling name, like gimmick or ploy or ruse or gambit.
Wait. Where did he star at?
The real question is, could he have taken out John Cleese and a handful of raspberries ?
His aim was to get the last card
jackie chan was in this for like 1 sec
Self Defense Against Fresh Fruit is all well and good, but what if someone attacks you with a point-ed stick?
From a classic movie 50 years ago. I saw it when it came out.
LET HIM COOK
Lol, total legend. I think I still own "Cards As Weapons" somewhere in my bookshelves (maybe).
Ahhh i think he pulled a metal card from his pocket when he penetrated the outer dermis of said melon
The Great Maleeni

I have a copy of Cards As Weapons, a treasure from a public library sale, despite the (tasteful) nude photographs.
Is it weird that I think of Ricky Jay often? Thank you for sharing this.

Is it just me or does Conan hate magicians 😂
Conan - we want new content.
The card tricks were terrible haha

From Marlo Thomas! You get a better view of her later on.
This is what cocaine and a lifetime of having no friends does. I'm only saying that because I still haven't figured out how to do this.
