Always thought I'd get a C5 Z06 for my first track car. Ended up w/a Blue Oval'd S197. Still working on getting the 1st parts of the build sorted and getting the track weekend set up & process figured out. Have fun...this is motivational.
I also track a c5z06 and I’m pretty new to it. I put a sparco evoII in my car and it was the biggest upgrade I have done so far. You feel so much more connected to the car and feel everything the car is doing. Turning all the Nannie’s off was also a big confidence booster for me. I’d turn it off for autocross but didn’t have the confidence to turn it off on track. When I finally did and realized I could competently catch a slide at 80 it gave me a huge confidence boost. Love seeing the track videos, keep it up!
Had a long time goal to run optima...my issue was keeping the car streetable and docile for use, but with the ATS-V and the C4, I'm feeling it may be time to really dial up the C5Z to do what it does best. We'll see...just going a step at a time...getting back to some trust for the cars mechanicals and working out some base level bugs. Definitely more content coming on the Z
@@KnightDriveTVyeah..I'm a big fan of the show.. Good suspension, bars, and a moderate power level will make you affective..C5s are popular and powerful so your driving will have to be good as well to compete against other drivers..I think you will do well and your creative enough to score well in D&E..So Good Luck if you go after it...🏁👍🏽
The C5 seats are notoriously bad for lateral support. I'm honestly surprised you've kept them this long. Corbeau A4s are a common upgrade, looking forward to seeing what you select!
I'm trying something non-traditional ahead, in an upcoming video. Track event ahead, so next video track prep (new brakets/fluid flush, rotors, bedding and some other things) will also include an interesting seat solution I'm going to try...lol.
I think they're a great match for HPDE and the square setup I have. I'm in the middle setting and the car rotates with zero understeer, as matched with the square setup. I don't regret them at all. I have been running them since 2014.
Nice driving out there man. I also have a C5 6MT but a base model that I wanted to test on the track, how do I get in to these events? BTW I'm from Vegas too.. Thanks
Motorsport.reg is the site you want to check periodically. We have Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Spring Mountain options. Many events arent posted that far out, so checking monthly is best, as new events pop up. Autocross is a good start because its low risk and the events are cheap.
No, the active handling works as it should, its just very intrusive. The system functions but with the square setup the car wants to rotate much more freely, so the active handling just intervenes much more quickly. The square setup is so balanced, its how the car shouldve come to begin with.
🤣🤣🤣 your friend’s reaction to being out on track for the first time! Priceless!! Love love love the Z vids!
Yeah, some changes coming to the channel....a lot more Corvette stuff coming, more focused.
Looked like a good day all in all!
Yeah, great times...love those track days!

Yeah, have to get the car back in order...getting there. Great track though

@@liluncje the shit is outta hand, can barley afford to drive the damn thing damn sure not as much as I want too.

So hard to not try and be a hero. Gets the blood pumping.
Saw your headlight conversion at LSFEST this year. Coolest mod I've seen in a long time. Give me a month and I'm come to get my set too
Appreciate that. Intended on having my car there running but...valve seal leakage got me
@@KnightDriveTV me too. Mine is a oil leak between the oil pan and time chain cover, nightmare
Good job..I see your making progress..Keep at it..maybe you can run Optima one day...👍🏽🏁

How are the Johnny O’Connell sway bars ? Thinking about doing those or should I save the money and get c6 z06 sway bars for my C5

Are the active handling issues related to the square wheel setup? Been tempted to go 18's all around but I've heard the TC doesn't like it
