    As I have watched your videos over the past 3 years I have decided that finding this info out before menopause is more important that when I am in menopause for the past 4 years and feel it is too late for me to prevent Alzheimer’s. To properly manage menopause you need to “plan” early. then when it officially begins someone can be prepare to to all this correctly.

      Yes! But, the education out there is obtuse. My doctors strongly advised against HRT replacement therapy. It's not our fault that we had faith in the medical establishment. But, we can spread the word now to our younger sisters.

    My father has Alzheimer’s and he’s been on some of these meds you mentioned and some you didn’t. They started him on the drugs when he became very aggressive with my mother and was hallucinating and was difficult for her to handle and her health was impacted by it all - caregiver demise. Recently we moved him to a memory care center and they want him on meds because he’s anxious and wants to move around a lot, up and down, all day all night, not sleeping and has become a fall risk. He just spent a week in the hospital because of extreme side effects from the Alzheimer’s meds and detoxed from them, however, the care takers want him to be on something because they don’t have enough help and he needs much attention. I’ve followed all your videos from the beginning and I’m now switching my estradiol patch to Premarin with equilin, since I am my father’s daughter. Thank you for all you do!

    Hi Dr.Taylor, I don’t see Pueraria Marifica mentioned in your book in the Phytoestrogen section. Would you please share your opinion of this plant? Thanks 😊

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 года назад

      First of all, my "opinion" is irrelevant. I give you an education.
      Pueraria Mirifica is a plant that grows in Thailand and Myanmar. People in those countries use it for youthfulness and rejuvenation. It has no specific benefit whatsoever for menopause, and its use for youthfulness and rejuvenation has never been proven. Many herbal supplements make claims about it that are not reliable or have never been tested.

    Why do some people get Alzheimer's and some not Is this not dependant on a good diet and living in a good happy community. Environmental factors can surely have an impact as that is what I have read? Thank you

    Thanks for the tutorial. Here is an AL's type of question... Why do men get alzheimer's disease?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 года назад +2

      The list of risk factors for Alzheimer's is 26 items long ... without estrogen loss as one of them. Men can (and do) have a lot of them. The most important risk factor for most people is failure to USE their brains. Just think about how many things you used to do with your own brain, before you started letting technology do it for you!
      At every age, though, there are twice as many women with Alzheimer's than men. And that's because we lose all our estrogen whereas men never lose all their testosterone.

    I'm up to video 90 and have searched with no answers, do you agree with supplementing with HRT during perimenopause to bring your hormones up to normal?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 года назад +1

      Jessica,
      First, nothing is about whether or not I "agree" with it.
      I deliver facts. You have to tailor them specifically to YOU, and find YOUR best options.
      You can start hormone replacement at any time. The idea is to bridge the gap between losing your own estrogen and replacing.
      Analogy question: what would you do if you were losing your insulin?

    Oh my goodness, figured out psychodelics were not a good memory choice decades ago!!!
    Question though, is there a place for the stimulating light treatment, for the prevention of cognitive decline? I'm on bhrt ad you probably know ( since you have the memory of an elephant lol) but I've started good bit post menopause.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 года назад +1

      I know of nothing to suggest any benefit from light treatment for Alzheimer's.
      You make me laugh with your comment about my elephant memory.
      Be sure to acknowledge that the only HRT that can reliably prevent Alzheimer's is pharmaceutical simply because it's regulated and you know precisely what you're getting. This is unlike compounded HRT that is unregulated and does not have to adhere to any consistency standards.
      BOTH the pharmaceutical AND the compounding industries provide bioidentical HRT. Most people use the term BHRT incorrectly to mean "compounded."

      @@MenopauseTaylor Ok, I think I do use the term bioidentical incorrectly.
