- sometimes i wonder if the DPS channels even read the exotic perks
do not spam the weapon, it does not spam well
maybe i'll do some real DPS analysis on it at some point when i get out of the mines (final exams)
Only things used were well + 3x solar surge. fusion has envious + controlled burst. No artifact mods.
U should use that one solar helmet that buffs scorch and ember of ashes just as a test
Is eremite required or is there a close replacement? I don’t buy the seasons so didn’t get it

Why do people like controlled burst more than reservoir burst? Doesn’t reservoir do 5% more damage? You only really get the speed increase if you fire like 10 plus rounds in a row for it to have higher dps right? And more people use fusions in a damage rotation like you did so you don’t really get the benefit of controlled. Unless I’m way off
The damage is nasty, but that ammo economy??? Man started with 10 rockets and ONLY USED HALF. That is wiiiiild total damage.
Is this possible without eremite? I don’t buy the seasons so couldn’t get it

@starlightrains any solar fusion would work tbh, preferably one with a damage perk. If you don't have one I'd just get the seasonal strand fusion, it rolls overflow + controlled burst. Use it with 2x solar surge and 1x strand
damage is crazy, but the real star is that flinch. holy shit, the ogre basically didn’t even move

That flinching is what im most interested in since that boss ticks me off
It’s rly easy to use too, it’s like Anarchy, stick the projectile on the boss for passive DMG and then Fusion rifle or double slug
Unfortunately, double slug will absolutely not work with Dragon's Breath because it deals extremely intense self damage, enough to kill even through well

@@Data-AnalystSera Also Double Slug is no longer the best double shotgun dps tool since its original nerf. Agressive Frame swapping is now better because you can counteract its main downside, the fire rate, by swapping. Just make sure to use dex mods and a resonably high handling stat.
idk how people thought spammig woudl ever be a good idea, i never got that impression? when they revealed it, i literally thoguht, oh its an exotic auto loading rocket that buffs its damage with raw igniton damage, perfect for double special swaps!

it's like every content creator are a part of hive mind, using it like a normal rocket launcher, then comparing it to apex with gally and calling it mid. LIKE C"MON
I actually had expected it to be really good given that it seemed to me to be a witherhoard but in the heavy slot + solar interactions, but this is even stronger than I thought, the dmg per shot is ridiculous as long as you use it properly and let it's fuel gauge build up between shots, no idea why ppl are spam firing it given the perk descriptions and how it literally incentivizes not spamming it.
Suprisingly i reckon either the new apososis veil buff could be good here or starfire protocol coz it leans into more ability oriented ignition triggering to refill the mag faster
I've been considering apotheosis swaps for it. I may test some stuff soon to see if you can get away with rocket, melee, rocket, grenade, swap, fire fusion for a few shots, swap back to rocket, pop well, repeat. Could make for some wild speedrunning damage for solo/trio content where running a ghorn isn't really in the cards due to the proximity det not being outweighed by enough people with wolfpack

Would be a fun exotic to pair with a kinetic tremors supremacy and another energy special such as a trench barrel shotgun or, like in the video, energy fusion rifle
Edit: just looked and there’s no aggressive solar trench barrel shotgun so I guess I’m sticking to fusion rifles
Again, you couldn't use a shotgun anyways. Dragon's Breath is still a rocket launcher and will absolutely kill you if it goes off when you're too close

I love how when it came out everyone said "meh" but its because they were using it wrong.
As a solo player, I’m very happy. People were already writing it off when using it against raid bosses especially those like Taniks and Riven, the worst case scenarios. Not everyone weapon has to be meta in a raid to be good everywhere else.
And as someone who raids with my clan just about every Saturday, I 100% agree. There are tons of good or even unorthodox weapons out there that can get the job done. Many of them aren't even raid exclusive.

Okay, so I know Dawn of Chorus would help. But what I would like for you to test would be a chill clip fusion and Starfire rotation.
See, here’s my theory for some great DPS;
-Fire DB x5 fuel
-Throw x2 Fusion
-Fire DB x4 fuel
-Fire chill clip until DB is ready
-Rinse repeat
Things that would really bump this up would be the artifact mods;
-Kindling Trigger
-Torch
-Revitalizing Blast
-Hail the Storm
-Argeng Ordnance
(Solo operative ofc but I don’t include that cause I’m in a FT usually)
I’m curious to see how this rotation would turn out. Probably throw in Solar surge x1 and stasis surge x1 and if you wanted too, you can make either a x2
Oh and this weapon would smack Atheon if you ran fusion nades cause you can spam ignites and DB x5 fuel which then I would use Dawn of Chorus
Honestly would probably work best with the buffed apotheosis veil, as it gives you several seconds of grenade recharge after casting a super, including the initial cast. So you can usually throw a grenade, cast a super,get it back, and then get another 4ish off for a total of 5-6 grenades depending on grenade type and discipline. Meaning you can usually start a dps phase with either pre nerf starfire protocol levels of nade spam, or with a full volley of sunbracers grenades. I'm not sure whether 6 touch of flame fusion grenades or solar grenades does more damage, but it's a lot of damage either way

I did the damage based on being able to through 5 nades for both, and also taking into account the extra ignitions, scorch, and the fact that solar grenades don't stack their burn damage, they only stack the lava blob damage.
After that I found that solar grenades would to about 517k damage total, where fusion nades do about 545k total. The damage difference would be a bit higher if you can get 6 grenades off, as fusion would get another ignition as well. Plus fusions are just way more consistent
TL:DR, use fusion grenades

whats crazy is that youre left with 5 rockets after that damage. while the dps is def lower than cc rocket dump that total damage is pretty nutty.

The new strand fusion is a rapid fire frame with controlled burst. Is it worth chasing to replace riptide with chill clip?
Riptide is the worst dps fusion you could use. Deliverance and scatter signal are leagues better

I could mention The Eremite but thats not on the same slot nor is it the same archetype now is it? And that gun is way better than Deliverance.

@@dominussalt1682 it does work used it myself, you can self-proc radiant and shoot DB then use Daybreak and shoot again after the super ends. Phoenix Dive with heat rises triggers Restoration x2 so you don't need to use a Well. It's pretty nutty for solo and team play.

Yup my first thoughts when I saw this thing was a swap playstyle. As someone who loves witherhoard & anarchy this is the rocket version of them that can also set everything around it on fire. Sick weapon.
the nice thing is i did this on hunter with celestial nighthawk and using a reservoir burst royal executioner it went to 2.5 mill. its incredible for ammo economy

my strat has been to use solar titan with consecration, big hammer super, solar nade, dragon's breath, ember of ashes, and pyrogale. i have a feeling this is going to get nerfed eventually

Similar use to a recon bait and switch apex. Need to see how big the damage difference is. I personally use malfeasance, Cartesian, Apex.

I like the guns uniqueness but not the effect. It may as well take up multiple slots because it hard requires you to use a solar subclass or solar weapon with incandescent

No catalyst. I'd bet that the catalyst won't do much for fusion swaps though, since it already reloads almost right as the last rocket explodes (idk if they stack)

To eveyone saying double slug for swap combos: This exotic is a rocket launcher. Shotgun swaps + rocket launcher are not a a good combo. Stick with fusions and snipers instead

when the rocket reaaches X5 fuel it auto reloads. With the catalyst it reloads fuel quicker

Its exotic trait adds some fuel to its counter when an ignition happens, and it auto-reloads when the fuel counter hits max.

probably but Lament is a sword. Definitely more situational and is outperformed quite easily. other options are much safer to use as well. DB is definitely a top contender now if you have access to good double specials that can put out good dps while DB does its work. A lot easier to use than Izanagis and bait and switch too. This weapon has earned its spot in my inventory at all times

Nah it's not overtuned. This is the one single context where it's good, anything besides solo dps and the gun falls off hard
Are we acting like builds where you're effectively immortal given enough enemies to hit are the same thing as a setup that lets you do a lot of boss damage? Also like the other person mentioned, any weapon that relies on statuses like ignitions for its damage falls off hard in a group.

I mean, it’s a lot of damage but why would I use this over just bait and switch or really any legendary? Having to basically resign it to a swapping setup when something like apex would pump out the same numbers without needing two other weapons is just a waste of an exotic
