  • In this lecture I have discussed about the epinephrine overdose, why does it happen, how can you diagnose an epinephrine overdose and what to do when an epinephrine overdose does occur? What can be the management done during an epinephrine overdose
    Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well.
    💉 Epinephrine is the most widely used vasoconstrictor in dentistry. Overdose reactions of vasoconstrictors, such as epinephrine are rare, but they do happen, and because of their widespread use, especially in the field of dentistry, it is really important to know about these overdose reactions, how to avoid them, and what should one do when these overdose reactions do happen.
    💉 The most well-known use of epinephrine is in local anesthetic cartridges supplied around the world.
    💉 Epinephrine is also used in the gingival retraction cord, which during the impression taking for a crown or bridge procedure.
    💉 Epinephrine overdose is more common when used in gingival retraction cords. That is because epinephrine is readily absorbed through gingival epithelium that has been abraded during the dental procedures like crown preparations.
    💉 There are many signs and symptoms that help us to diagnose the overdose reaction of epinephrine. Watch the video to find out more.
