Early-game progression has been completely overhauled with the new prize cars and reworked payouts, and it's a lot smoother while avoiding or softening a lot of the easy progression skips the original game had. INFO TO PREVENT CONFUSION / TROUBLESHOOTING: If you're still on the 1.7 dev version of pcsx2 > UPGRADE to the new one! GPU load dropped by roughly 20% after the update. Also. Memcards and the Directory for textures are not in the pcsx2 folder anymore. Per Default a Folder under C:\user\documents is created where all that stuff goes. Also Also: I Donated 15 Bucks and left a nice message. If you're able to, I encourage you do donate as well. As a software dev myself I can't stretch enough how much effort and time goes into a project like that. So if you can give something back please do
it’s weird while true autosims of the era like rFactor/GTR/NASCAR Racing/F1 Challenge having hundreds and thousands of mods and new content being forgotten, there are bunch of fans that working hell hard on adding some new sounds and couple of cars into a game from consoles/closer source. To the game that wasn’t so special even on release date, but still is being played. GT fan base has the passion and fanaticism i’d like to see in more worthy classic autosims.
What a stellar work you guys did here, congratulations to the whole team! I have a question and a possibly bug report though. 1. Is it possible for a future update to set the analog gauge ONLY for bumper/hood/interior cam and digital gauge only for exterior cam? 2. Is there any way to setting up the camera view (using Monitor menu) and applied it only for the interior cam? 3. Possible bug: When I select the Toyota Supra in used car dealership, the FPS were dropping really hard. Unfortunately I don't remember which version of the Supra, and it only occured on that car specifically. Cheers mate!
Great mod, thanks to the creators and the reporters, too 😉! I was interested in how the game would play on my original Playstation, using OPL. At least in my case, I have discovered an issue with the original PS2 Dualshock controller, which doesn't work in the game. But after fiddling around in the OPL settings I found a PS3/PS4 controller emulation and gave it a try by connecting a PS3 controller via USB. And it worked! So the question is - does the modded game not work with original controllers anymore? I have found a workaround by the way: I have some of these PS2 controller to USB adapters. Using one of these, the Dualshock 2 works with the modded game 😀. Of course it is more interesting to play Spec II on PCSX2, but it is nice to be able to play it on original hardware, too.
I just started playing the mod, it's VERY GOOD, I'm loving the new features especially the new cameras, the hood camera should be the default, idk why pd preferred the roof over the hood, but my favorite it's being the inside camera, it adds a very cool immersion, however, you can't look back when using the inside camera, that's bothering me 😅
I forget the best settings for steering wheel using a Logitech G923, I put Active Steering off, Steering Type Simulation, Power Assist off and Feedback Strenght Strong, is that correct?
Awesome mod! I have one question thats directly point to language settings: Could be in the future a possibility to add more than actual languages to GT4 interface? How the strings in the game compiled - if is compiled?
Great work but honestly I'll wait for new cars and tracks. Imagine driving my love - '70 Cuda (from real 1970, not 1971 with that ugly black spoiler............) or some custom blowed muscles or hotrods/ratrods, Citroen GT, Batmobile? Hot Wheels cars like TwinMill etc. and TONS of unique cars AND driving it on some custom tracks that blow our minds by it's sick variety - from a real pro racing tracks to extreme custom fun tracks in hell/space etc... Man, it's so exciting what awaits us in next years... Waiting SO MADLY for this! And? who knows, maybe I'll create something for this too! We'll see... :~]
My dreams are coming to reality! I just started playing GT2 on retro handheld and I definitely check this out. btw: How does this footage look SO good? Is there re-texturing other than cars? (Environment, tracks etc.)
I would really like to have an analog tachometer like GT3. I find it so much better for understanding the behavior of a car's power curve coming in and out of corners.
The Lister is a conversion of GT2s Lister Storm Racing Modification. For whatever reason PD just ported the specs of the Storm Road Car from GT2, hence it being overweight
The mod really is an awesome revamp, congratulations to its author! Known issue: you can't properly do more than 2 laps in arcade vs. mode (you can set it in the gui, but to no effect). I was playing local splitscreen with a good friend of mine and no mater what we did, we could not run more than 2 laps without getting "finish" after crossing the line a 2nd time. The new career mode progression throughout early game feels a bit off too: you do get more money, but you also do need more tunes (and cause of that, earn less A-spec points) to properly compete with the new AI. Also, many races began with a complete clusterfuck of colisions at the first 1~3 corners, while a single AI driver (usually the one already starting in the lead) took off, leaving you to close a gap of 3s~10s under 2 laps. My suggestion: make AI cars closer to each other (and to the player) in terms of power, such that if there are 3 AI drivers running 200HP-ish, 1200kg-ish cars, the other 2 are somewhat around 180HP to 220HP, and similar wheight classes, and not something as drastic as a Dodge RAM competing with a Viper in the same race as is currently (was the gap THAT large in the base game as well??) Overrall, if the game is a solid 8.5/10, this mods easily brings it to a 9.25/10, but it CAN still be improved I think! Awesome mod!

So dope! Thank you for the info!
Hi- new to PC (coming from console) and therefore new to modding. However, if i understand correctly; I download pcsx2, download rom (enhanced vers) download the spec 2 patch, use xdelta to create a new disc image, run new file on pcsx2 ...? Thank you!
Big respect for those people that made this Mod ❤❤❤
Wow! So many QoL improvements. This is fantastic. This is my weekend plans.
INFO TO PREVENT CONFUSION / TROUBLESHOOTING:
If you're still on the 1.7 dev version of pcsx2 > UPGRADE to the new one!
So if you can give something back please do
The Mod Is Amazing.. Just a question is It possible to have GTPSP Cars on Your Spec II Cars (like Enzo Ferrari, Ferrari F2007, Pescarolo 2005) ?
it’s weird while true autosims of the era like rFactor/GTR/NASCAR Racing/F1 Challenge having hundreds and thousands of mods and new content being forgotten, there are bunch of fans that working hell hard on adding some new sounds and couple of cars into a game from consoles/closer source. To the game that wasn’t so special even on release date, but still is being played. GT fan base has the passion and fanaticism i’d like to see in more worthy classic autosims.
Wow, SO EXCITEDDD!!!!
I waited so long for this. Thank you so much.
Is there a way to donate to the devs?
Yes, Admiester has a donation link on the website

This might be super specific, but is it possible to have the PAL soundtracks in there as well?
I'm with you. Also, might as well include all the soundtrack from all Gt4 region releases.
Huge Thanks for GT modding community👍
This is awesome, if I were still playing the game, I'd be all over it, so many QoL changes.
Now i need an excuse to don't go to work lol Downloading and gonna test it when i will be back from work!
The interior camera mod is wild. The one and only thing I thougth gt4 was missing for being perfect
I just started playing the mod, it's VERY GOOD, I'm loving the new features especially the new cameras, the hood camera should be the default, idk why pd preferred the roof over the hood, but my favorite it's being the inside camera, it adds a very cool immersion, however, you can't look back when using the inside camera, that's bothering me 😅
Known issue, will be fixed in an update later
been holding off from trying the game until this mod releases, can finally play GT4 for the first time
I forget the best settings for steering wheel using a Logitech G923, I put Active Steering off, Steering Type Simulation, Power Assist off and Feedback Strenght Strong, is that correct?
Also, forget to say this, congratulations for this mod. Thank You.
Yes, that's what I use. You will still get a lot of wobbling when using high downforce cars, no way to tune that out unfortunately
Valencia mentioned! 🇪🇦
This is some amazing quality of life changes.
Awesome mod!
I have one question thats directly point to language settings:
Could be in the future a possibility to add more than actual languages to GT4 interface? How the strings in the game compiled - if is compiled?
I'm not sure, that would be a question for Admiester. I know it would be a huge time consuming task though
Ofc. wanna play only on my old fatty beloved console with epic blue vertical stand :)
My dreams are coming to reality! I just started playing GT2 on retro handheld and I definitely check this out. btw: How does this footage look SO good? Is there re-texturing other than cars? (Environment, tracks etc.)
This is amazing. I hope we can get some new tracks. One new track is worth one hundred new cars imo.
When it comes to engine sounds, I wish there was a full list of all vehicles that either are or aren't affected.
Holy moly! What a great day this is!
The Game was great 20 years ago & this wonderful mod made it great again❤
That Looks Amazing! For sure i will play that!
I would really like to have an analog tachometer like GT3. I find it so much better for understanding the behavior of a car's power curve coming in and out of corners.
I still don't understand why Polyphony didn't use the same values for Vertigo and Lister as the real car.
The Lister is a conversion of GT2s Lister Storm Racing Modification.
For whatever reason PD just ported the specs of the Storm Road Car from GT2, hence it being overweight
Words cannot describe how happy I am
My suggestion: make AI cars closer to each other (and to the player) in terms of power, such that if there are 3 AI drivers running 200HP-ish, 1200kg-ish cars, the other 2 are somewhat around 180HP to 220HP, and similar wheight classes, and not something as drastic as a Dodge RAM competing with a Viper in the same race as is currently (was the gap THAT large in the base game as well??)
Overrall, if the game is a solid 8.5/10, this mods easily brings it to a 9.25/10, but it CAN still be improved I think!
Awesome mod!
