I was never a fan of Leonard Cohen , the singer. I always thought, who is going to fall asleep first, him or me ?
When I read in a comment that Lucy is going to do a cover of Leonard Cohen, i was less than enthusiastic.
But when I eared her ...I found all the beauty of the song. It is not a surprise that this cover got almost 30 millions views in 2 years.🤗👍❤️🥰
    Lucy is exceptional 👍

Wow they blocked this for two weeks! I Agree with your comment Mr. Cohen as a singer is a great, great songwriter. As per Lucy I'm going to quote one of my previous comments "Stunning, beautiful, the sounds, ah the sound, perfect. This young songbird owns my heart. Like a true siren, she beckons, i listen. She shows her soul, i weep. She reaches a crescendo, I shake, i am wholly hers. See softens, I become aware. She lets me go with a smile, I know I was had. I play it again." I'm super glad you two liked her. Sue seemed to feel her "magic" As for future recommendations. She has over 60 vids. on her sight from 10 -18 years old. Some with her 5 year younger sister Martha, you covered The Prayer. There is not a runt in the whole litter. You don't have to worry about getting blocked by her. You might get a thank you from her. Since Sue asked, I will Always Love You a Dolly cover, The Way We Were a Barbra cover, At Last by Etta, are a couple of my favorites. She also has 5-6 originals you might like for the Wolfpack. Thank you, good day to you both.😄

That's the beauty of music, different interpretations and the original has strong meaning. However every song needs a Golden version and Lucy takes everything she sings to a new and much higher level. She is not equalled in that. Recommend anything Lucy does but try duet with her sister of The Prayer - out of this world.

Just discovered have a version with the prayer, sorry for not checking first, but not against Bocelli/ Dion that I could find which would be a great one to hear, I know who I prefer 😁 Pentatonix are good but definitely always return to Lucy and Martha.

Yes, the song mix the stories of King David and Samson. The two were deeply in love with a woman ( may I say insanely in love ?).
One sent his general to be killed so he can have his wife , the other one, let Dalila , a Philistins woman, to cut his hair and take out all his power..
Cohen, as a jew new all these stories.
I love Lucy interpretation , because she does not copy Leonard ,she reinvent the song ❤️🤗🥰👏
Lucy has talent, but in top of this she has goodness, purity, shining around her👍👍👍🤗🤗❤️

Story straight out of the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). Cohen was was raised Jewish. He later became a Buddhist. King David also wrote the Psalms (songs of David). Many connections here. Toss in Sampson for people not familiar with King David... another Cohen masterpiece.

*_I prefer Lucy Thomas's Rendition over Leonard Cohen's Original._*
Leonard Cohen was a brilliant song writer, but not the greatest vocalist. Many covers of this classic song are sung in the tradition and style of Cohen. Anyone can copy Cohen's style and it would be just another 'copy'.
Lucy Thomas doesn't copy a song, she improves the song. She takes it to a higher place and she also takes her listeners to a higher place as well. We become emotionally invested in the performance. No one will best Lucy on this song. She raised the Bar so high that even if someone copied her, they would fall far short of her perfection.
Every good book has 3 parts... beginning, middle, and ending. Lucy Thomas's songs all have these same 3 parts. The only difference is timing. She might stretch out a song and not go full throttle forte until last 1/3, or she might hit her crescendo half way through. Lucy's final chapter in her song is where all 3 parts come together and it fades to quiet.
Lucy sings with Powerful Purpose delivered by a Pure Voice so unique that it is instantly recognizable. There is no doubt Lucy can sing, and there is no doubt that Lucy's Physical Performance is as Powerful as her Voice.
*_Lucy Thomas is a gifted vocalist and gifted 'story teller'. Every song a Masterpiece...._*
