Why compare when we can enjoy and appreciate each individual artist talent , a tremendous performance from lovely Lucy.
Lucy is amazing, a nice pure version that is a pleasure to listen to.
No vocal pyrotechnics, no auto-tune, no look it me how great I am, it's just pure beautiful music you can listen to! But there's more to Lucy then just that - there's something very special and powerful about her singing that's hard to pin-point... but it's there!

The term you're looking for is raw emotion, no other singer I've heard puts quite the same about of expression into their singing as she does especially on certain phrases and wording.
Sorry my friend, you're right was not autotuned. Auto tune is antiquated. However pitch control and possibly AI were used after the fact! All of her official videos are pitch corrected.my friend. Don't get me wrong, I have heard Lucy live and she is an upper tier singing talent, and quite possibly even a generational one. But pitch control is the fairly new kid on the Music industry block! So to speak! LOL maintain your fan fervor over Lucy she is very versatile and will succeed! LOL as far as raw emotion is concerned there are quite a few that would give Lucy a run for your money. There is a difference between stage presence and acting. compared to emoting live in the moment and unrehearsed. Secondly you will find that singer songwriters simply destroy cover artist in this area, because the creation was made from their personnel life experiences! The likes of Grace VanderWaal for example who at nineteen is already considered to be in the upper tier of compositional artists in the Industry, writing for Disney and under the table for multiple singers of worthy note! @@wilburfinnigan2142 I'm not going to pass judgment on anyone who follows their dreams, even if they don't follow the path that I would want them to. But as far as moral standards go, I think that Lucy and Angelina Jordan are cut from the same cloth, and I have no worries about them staying true to their values. I will do all I can to help them actualize their dreams.
It's certainly beyond her years, but it's more than that. She has a rare gift that hardly ever comes along. I've been a vocalist, teacher, and director for decades and, to me, Lucy has an exceptionally rare gift that has merged with a medium at a perfect time in history. "Hallelujah" is a really good song to bring people in; it's heavily-done standard. But listening to some of her other performances is what truly separates her from almost all others. E.g. "Somewhere", ""Never Enough", and "All By Myself", and Eva Cassidy's, "Over the Rainbow." These are all covers, but you can really experience her range and depth with the songs from the to-be-released musical, "Rosie", such as "Beautiful", "Suddenly", "Gentle Breeze", and "Starlight." All done when she was a mere 15 years old. Her ability to just capture everything through her voice and expression is stunning!
I hope the music industry doesn't destroy her as they have done to so many other young people! GOD protect her!
I have always like this song, but I would typically get bored with it after about halfway through. But that is when Lucy starts ramping it up and really grabbing my attention. Just when I think she has reached her peak, she totally blasts me away with the most powerful moments and then slowly brings it back down to earth to remind me of how angelic she is. At first, I thought that she was as good as Jennifer Nettles' version (a voice that I absolutely adore), but then I listened to Jennifer's version again and thought, "No, Lucy's tops even Jennifer's !" By far, my favorite rendition of this song, it is truly remarkable.

Very beautiful! She can absolutely sing beyond comparison. Howevjer, after hearing the recent live recording by Emma Kok, it is indeed a perfect fabricated studio production but nothing more. Emma Kok's voice is not as perfect in a live recording, but she really touches your heart with this song❤. Emma does not act, she lives the song. I do look forward to a live performance of Lucy thought!

For some reason my comment a year ago is missing. So I’ll quickly recap.
I’d never heard or noticed this song before as it’s not my type of song at all. But since Lucy sang it I’ve listen and compared other versions and the original. I actually dislike this song other than Lucy’s version. It’s now had 40 million views plus 30 million elsewhere, and it’s the best version out there from many, and there is nothing to beat it. Lucy singing this makes it amazing and her technique and control is unbelievable, so for all those reasons it’s a 10. You guys scored very high but shouldn’t mark down because you don’t like the song. It’s a 10! 💯

You should also react to Lucy singing Run by Snow Patrol. It was the song that i had heard her sing.I had never heard it before she sang it. If it makes a difference, there are no candles!
Between the Thomas sisters and Amira, there are many, many good songs by them
Every time I hear "Run" by Lucy, "Run" makes my tears "run"! Just extraordinarily beautiful! And almost anything Amira sings makes them run again! Love both these angelic young ladies! Are you familiar also with Laura Bretan? She's also a prodigy (but now 20 years old) who sings opera, Christian, and classical crossover. She's of Romanian descent, but lives in Chicago. As with Amira and Lucy, she is also a beautiful young lady both inside and out; a person of solid, decent values and character.

Lucy Thomas has a beautiful voice and her articulation was clearer than most, but I'm confused. Hallelujah means "Praise the Lord" and you referred to it as a Christmas song, however, the words seemed to convey a confused narrative making nonsense of the song. King David and Bathsheba were mixed with Samson and Delilah as a single event, which went well beyond poetic licence.

You guys are being too tough on her, she was 14 years old, when she sang this song, and is now 20 and a would class singer, that rendition of Hallelujah, got over 60 million views. So you need to do better, you should have given her two 10's.
Her version of "I Will Always Love You" should be rated by you guys.
Alright then BP1 and BP2, you asked for some Dream Theater suggestions, and something a bit more metal, but you never got back to them. I could name a dozen tracks off the top of my head, but may I suggest their first Grammy Award winner? It's titled The Alien, and it's from their most recent album, A View From The Top of The World.
