The thing about all the tracks related to the Darker Lord (except the Darkest Hour, which seems to be its own thing) being amalgamations between the themes of the Great Sage and the Dark Lord is such a clever detail from the composers Thanks for putting the effort in compilating all of these! :D
I always love it when the music department goes all out with the soundtrack, and adding in little details like these are liking hiding easter eggs but instead of seeing them, you have to hear them. I always think stuff like this is really cool!
Gosh dang, I already appreciated the Darkest Lord theme but finding out just HOW MANY leitmotifs were thrown into it is INCREDIBLE!!! I love that track so freaking much… Everything relating to the Darker Lord was done so freaking well. It gives me chills sometimes
Hearing the Dark Lord’s theme in the final boss when I first played it was almost as insane to me as the fact that for that fight, I put all my teammates in Polka-Dot gear
I never noticed that the battle results music and the clothing changing music have the same leifmotif. They're arranged so differently that they felt like completely different songs at first, but now I can hear it.
This is really nice information to learn! I really never knew this, so to have someone point it out (need I mention an actual comparison?) makes it all the more cool information-wise. I think the one I noticed most when playing was Path to Victory and Great Sage's Theme, mainly because I felt it was really obvious. Thank you so much for this!
That’s what those are called, I’ve been having the Purple Coin mission and Gusty Garden Galaxy from Mario Galaxy in my head, and the leitmotifs from them has been mostly been on my mind, Also the one in Cuphead with Mario World as well,
@@blevz3969 Ah, that would mean all the other town themes too then, since those are also the same ones... I made a video on the town themes + area intro music months ago: ruclips.net/video/En0-3iNVtdY/видео.html
@@JohnSmith-wv5km Found it! Oh, I just realized this specific melody is going to be on my 3rd leitmotifs video (it's been in my drafts for months), so I am going to cover this but adding the FoTF battle theme! Thank you for the input!
Well done video. Leitmotivs are cool and all, but I kinda prefer it when composers create entirely new melodies each time. (Although, Miitopia's music is still pretty great, and 100% unique pieces may be a bit much for such a large OST). At least this game diverts a lot on its final battle themes from the compositions it borrows from, but really, the "battle music is a faster remix of the character's theme", it's a trope I'm not a big fan of. That's one of the reasons why Dark Lord's battle theme it's my favorite. It's a completely different track for everything you have heard up until that point, and it has some interesting changes on its 3 minute length, despite always keeping the same tempo and time signature. There are just two leitmotivs I think you missed: 1) The section of the hands's theme just before the one that sounds similar to a section of Dark Lord battle, sound similar to a DIFFERENT section of the Dark Lord battle, that comes just after the one you identified. 2) The theme for when you save the dark curse has a flute which plays similar notes to Greenhorne's plains stage music, (which is also a longer version of "A simple traveller" with more instruments).
How did you add the Energetic Mii's singing voice clip in 8:08 and sync it to the rhythm of the song? And where did you get that Energetic Mii's singing voice clip from?

The Dark Lord's theme in and of itself is based on O Fortuna.
the Miitopia soundtrack is honestly one of the best video game soundtracks out there imo
Hard agree
So true
The Dominic the Dragon one makes so much sense tho

I love the difference of cheerful, or intense, or calming, or simple.
oh yeah it just came to me, easin hills also has the motif from the greenhorne map!! it’s very sped up
Ive played miitopia like 10 Times, yet I didn't notice any of these. I do hear them now. Thx alot
listening to the greenhorne map theme and the spoils of war made me want to go back to 2017 💔💔
Glad to be of help to you! Miitopia is probably my favorite video game soundtrack of all time.
And thank you for providing the info on it! I played them on the piano too and it's confirmed to be accurate.
The soundtrack slaps!
thanks for compiling this!! i've always been fascinated about the miitopia soundtrack. the composers did such a good job on it! ;u;

I'm pretty sure that the town theme and Dark Lord's theme are the same, too.
Troubled town or normal one?

In your 2018 comic, I identified the following themes.
The Path To Victory
Origin Of The Curse
The Great Sage’s Theme
The Darker Lord’s Theme
