There's a part of me that hopes Jude Law's character isn't just some Padawan or Jedi turned Pirate, but rather just somebody who is naturally gifted with the force and by happenstance used it to be a Pirate or something. I realize that probably won't be the case, but it would be sort of refreshing to see a character in this world who learned how to use the force in basic(ish) ways on their own. Because it seems crazy that in a world where the force exists that such a thing wouldn't happen.

They actually showed the original ship George Lucas was going to use as the Millennium Falcon in the shipyard b4 they settled on the one that's used in all the star wars films. It's in the top left of the screen where they showed a bunch of the ships. I was hoping they would go back and look at the shipyard for Easter eggs since star wars is known for placing them in their shows.

In Star Wars #7 (1977) by Marvel Comics, there was a Crimson Jack, nicknamed "Redbeard" by Han Solo. Crimson Jack, along with his crew of pirates were a threat that Luke, Han, and Leia had to face during the events of the comic. Wonder if there's any connection. Could Crimson Jack by a mantle past down through pirates or is this simply a fun little Easter egg to this era of Star Wars comics.
Or since he seems fairly fluid about names its just an identity he stole for a while. As an aside, a Jack flag is the one you fly from the bow of a ship. a crimson or scarlet flag on a pirate ship meant no survivors. So Crimson Jack is...not reassuring!
Probably just a nod, they’ve often shifted Legends characters into different eras, like Thrawn being more prominent in the Rebellion era for example! So it could be a reference even if this character is showing up 10-ish years later than his Legends counterpart
I'm loving this show making little references to the movies without making it obvious. Like I still haven't seen anyone talk about how the first scene of the series is so similar to Vader invading the Tantive IV, and this episode comes around and Eric gets how the starfighter scene is like the one in ANH. I love how those little references are worked in.
My theory that Fern was unknowingly telling the truth about treasure miners being trapped down in the deep caves of the planet seem more true with each episode.
The characters apparently relate to the main characters of the Lucasfilm short "Captain EO" (which you can see on RUclips), as confirmed by the inclusion of the red furry winged creature in the cage in the second episode: Wim is Captain EO (Michael Jackson), Neel is Hooter (a blue elephant alien-look it up!), and SM-33 is Major Domo (a peglegged robot); those comparisons are obvious. Less obvious, but a lot of people think: Fern and KB are Ody and Idy (a two-headed alien who pilots the ship), and the rat that lives in SM-33 is Minor Domo (a small robot that perches on Major Domo's shoulder). Other connections: The look of Brutus' crew is unambiguously based on the Borg-like look of the villains in "Captain EO", and one of the crew members (I don't thinks she's appeared in the series yet, but she's in the trailers) is specifically patterned on the Borg Queen-like villainess of "Captain EO"; and finally, the Barrier that protects At Attin resembles the opening shot of "Captain EO", where a blue swirly galaxy-like thing is shown, without explanation.

Get the truth, and if you ever need help, you can call me. Any time!" Gave me chills when she said those words. Yoda spoke in mystery and suspense. Kh'ymm gets to the heart of reality and has the potential to bring out the best in these children and anyone who has the courage to just look up at the stars! I hope if there's a season two, Kh'ymm returns to our foursome as their teacher. Not like Yoda. Better than Yoda; especially for KB! If I were writing for season two, and had the necessary budget to make this work, Kh'ymm would be on screen at least as much as Jod was in season one. Kh'ymm should be their tutor and protector. 18:49 As for Jod being or not being a Jedi or a Sith..? He's force sensitive. Arguably everyone can be, but it takes effort in the Star Wars universe to learn how to tap into and harness that potential. Jod was under the tutelage of a woman who knew how to share some of that knowledge with him, but he's not fully vested or property trained. He's essentially like a toddler holding a loaded gun when he toys with The Force. That makes him in some ways even more dangerous than Vader and Yoda combined. @wavesquadron, (Aaron) 5:43 Aren't Jawas the FIRST pirates in Star Wars? They are the most pirate like people in the OT in my opinion--they stole everyone's stuff and sold it back to them! It makes sense that they WOULD be at a port with other pirates to me, lol. (Eric) 29:17 Before the Clone Wars, there was no reason to distrust aids that were built to help you, yeah? At Attin, is a world living in a bubble; they are a snap shot of the way life used to be. Queen Amidala had her trusted droids--she awarded one for saving them, remember ;) Nute Gunrey had his droid chair, and Battle Droids whom he put total faith in to win his trade war.
I feel like he definitely has the force because even if there are all those things he can use how would he have access to them when he was stripped of his possesions and locked in a cell.
I watched a reaction channel last week where most of the comments were like, “A show where one of the kids has two moms??!! Disney is too woke! I’m out! Not watching this crap!” And “Wim has a girl’s haircut. He acts like a girl and Fern and KB act like boys. This show is crap!”
Just to be clear: "Crimson Jack" is literally "The Dread Pirate Roberts" of Star Wars. (Franchise opportunities available in your Sector). Crimson Jack was first seen in the Marvel original series of SW Comics as a rogue and Pirate Leader partnered with the deadly eye-candy gunslinger Jolli. He was killed AFTER ANH in an EVA shootout by Han Solo during a Space Duel in a magnetically shielded field projected corridor between the Millenium Falcon and Crimson Jack's ship. Captain Silvo's many names including "Crimson Jack" just means that the Name Recognition legacy is worth preserving, no matter WHO bears the title in the NR Era.🏴☠️😎🏴☠️ The protocol droid calling for the prince is an easter egg for the old Droids cartoon, where Threepio was in service to a prince on the run. 🤔 They double down on At Attin being an OLD Republic (not High Republic) cutoff colony. 😏👌
23:05 it goes back to 25 k years and theres plenty of stuff in actual books and comics before the popular KOTR stuff like the original tals of the jedi
I'm thoroughly enjoying this show and it's lighter tone but I am very curious about how far they may take some darker elements. Obviously there's a lot of potential with the mystery of At Attin with it's very dystopian atmosphere, but I'd also be curious if maybe we have a moment where perhaps Wim learns about what happened to the Jedi, not only are they practically all dead but the galaxy by the end of their time didn't see them as the heroes he believes them to be. Also seeing as how Jod/Silvo/Crimson Jack was being held to go on trial it would be interesting if maybe Brutus despite clearly being an aggressive murderous pirate really does care somewhat about his crew, at least more than Silvo did. He specifically mutinied because of how many of them were killed for just one credit and we know from this episode that Jod has a history of backstabbing people so maybe his stint as pirate captain was all just another con of his. It'd certainly make both him and Brutus more interesting if that were the case.

If they find a planet that looks like theirs and has structures like theirs and it's destroyed, they'll think something terrible happened to their parents and everyone on their home world....
There are pictures or scenes in the trailers of what looks like KB or Fern's home. The house looks almost exactly the same - even the same mural on the wall, except there are minor differences and there are vines growing everywhere, like it's been a long time.
YES Aaron I also thought of Aphra!!! 😭
the Owl is like Aughra in Dark Crystal! ;) same vibe
"but do his eyebrows match" 🤣🤣🤣i'm dead
Huh, not the only ones i've seen call SM-33 Smee. "Can't say I remember no At Attin" is the new "Like a Bantha"
A great BSer has good answers and can just think of things on the fly. "Force flows through everyone".... "not everything can be calculated, trust your gut"... etc. But the more you have to con, the harder it gets.
I desperately wanted the X-Wing pilot to be Carson. Just for the little cameo.
I have been looking forward for this
So many cool things and characters, the backgrounds... I want to know more about Cap't Silvo.
According to the great god google, the owl is a hand puppet, not CGI.
I'm going with he is Force sensitive but has a very low M count - he didn't pass his Initiate Trials and then ran away
I hope we see absolutely no know characters. I'd like it to remain a self contained story
K'hymm and her lair reminds me of Aughra in THE DARK CRYSTAL ;)
When i first heard the music when they arrive at the moon: "Did we end up in Loki?"
Sideshow collectibles needs to give us what we want. A replica of Kym like they did Grogu lol.
Something I just noticed, the doorway changed from blue to red...is Jod a Jedi turned Sith, now possibly drifting back?
Theres a story whick Luke Skywalker son is a pirate. I had the action figure too, he used death sticks to block out his father's force ghost
Kh'ymm's species is unknown at the moment but I have come up with Strigian because of the owl thing and it just sounds right!
@wavesquadron,
(Aaron) 5:43 Aren't Jawas the FIRST pirates in Star Wars?
Rick is all of us rn its all about the eyebrows
Ky’mmm looks like she’s the owl of the Meep
Loving all the treasure island references.
The people of At Atten don’t know there is now a new republic and only think the old republic is the same one.
So this is basically treasure planet
I watched a reaction channel last week where most of the comments were like, “A show where one of the kids has two moms??!! Disney is too woke! I’m out! Not watching this crap!”
And
“Wim has a girl’s haircut. He acts like a girl and Fern and KB act like boys. This show is crap!”
You watched a shitty reaction lol
WDW Pro by any chance 😂😊
I am Wan Shi Tong, "He Who Knows Ten Thousand Things."
Welcome to my observatory
Eric doesn't know Crimson Jack, his Star Wars trivia is slipping! /s
Captain Silvo's many names including "Crimson Jack" just means that the Name Recognition legacy is worth preserving, no matter WHO bears the title in the NR Era.🏴☠️😎🏴☠️
The protocol droid calling for the prince is an easter egg for the old Droids cartoon, where Threepio was in service to a prince on the run. 🤔
They double down on At Attin being an OLD Republic (not High Republic) cutoff colony. 😏👌
KB is already my favorite
The beards are truly becoming glorious
18:03 too funny
23:05 it goes back to 25 k years and theres plenty of stuff in actual books and comics before the popular KOTR stuff like the original tals of the jedi
The moon shot would give you ET vibes somewhat
One of those planets seems to be Andors birth planet.
1:49 i got that reference Rick.😅
Rick 💘
The owl is an Kamas or something from Legends one of the few core alien species and there homeworld was home of the best and most advanced universities of the Galaxy.
Woah Alia Shawkat is Kh'ymm ! Very nice.
