this channel was my most watched in 2024. i discovered my obsession with star wars, binged every movie/show and your reaction videos to all of it, and finally with skeleton crew im caught up. so thank you your star wars knowledge has taught me so much
I love how much these guys know about Star Wars too! I always come here first to hear their takes and additional knowledge. Almost everything I know about Star Wars came from these guys and I’m grateful for them!
7:12 Not Eric misremembering that this is actually a Qui-Gon quote and not an Obi-Wan quote. 😱 22:50 This episode was directed by Jake Schreier who is also the director of the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie.
The craziest thing about the Lightsaber reveal at the end is that if you go back and watch one of the trailers, there is a scene where you see Jod walking down a ramp with the kids behind him and on his belt, you see the lightsaber. The trailer gave it away and we didn’t even notice.😅
@@OrionInSpace Dude. If you think that was gave away, look at this. From the official Behind The Scenes of Skeleton Crew we see Wim, Fern and Fern's mom being in the tower of At Attin's Supervisor. 2 of them have concerted face, the remaining third has shock face.
I was shocked to learn Kelly Macdonald who plays Pokkit is actually Disney royalty, she’s the voice of Merida in Brave. Also I love that “Skull Ridge Mountain” became a tourist resort. Just like how Nassau used to be THE pirate capital of the Caribbean and now it’s an exotic tourist destination.
It was definitely the waiter that was eaten that said “not again.” Which made me think they are immune to being digested and have to go through the WHOLE process. 😂
Love the parallels to Treasure Island (Sylvo-Silver, Wim-Jim). Hope there is a fencing style fight between the captains with a lightsaber in the finale.
Oh I didn’t catch the names. So it is literally Treasure Planet. I mean Disney does own it. (But if this is what we get instead of a live action Treasure Planet I won’t be very happy…)
22:35 That's what I was thinking when I first watched this episode! I'm like "Wim, you got a lot of trust that tunnel doesn't lead somewhere worse" lmao
"What are you gonna do with that?" KB gave me a very Dr Who moment.. Instead of pulling out a sonic screwdriver she uses a "harmless" little crescent wrench.
Jod did the most painful betrayal I’ve seen in Star Wars since Anakin during Order 66. I genuinely thought he was going to help the kids out because it was in all of their interests, but just like with Gollum and the One Ring, as soon as he heard that there was truly a limitless treasure on At Attin he almost immediately stabbed them all in the back because he wanted that treasure for himself. It’s even worse after you realize that he only consoled Wim not out of compassion or any kind of attachment at all but because he just wanted him to remain useful.
He definitely didn't console Wim just to keep him useful, he sees himself in these kids and probably Wim the most, he was just tryna make him more like himself and espouse some 'wisdom' for him. It's not black and white, he definitely cares about the kids beyond the treasure of At Attin (he could've just straight up killed Fern if he wanted) he just cares about himself and the treasure more.
Jod Na Nawood (if that's his real name) is now one of the best antiheroes in The SWU. He clearly bears kinship to a personage like Baylon Skoll. However, I do hope Jod has redemption in his future. Jude Law deserves both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for this singular portrayal...and wins, as well.
Honestly? With what Jod did in THIS episode, i could still see him doing it in the kids' best interest, even though he didn't do it in the nicest way possible. The episode made a point of showing that the kids don't take their problems and the general predicament their in seriously. Which is fine, they are just kids, after all. But it endangers them further. And many times, even in previous episodes, when Jod tried to guide them forward, he was thwarted by Fern's immature defiance and her using SM-33 to keep Jod on a short leash. So him taking charge by challenging - and beating - Fern could have just been an effort to streamline the chain of command. This idea is further supported by the fact that many times, he's being genuinely nice to the kids, supporting them and building them up when he didn't need to and had nothing to gain from it and the fact that he could have been so much worse to Fern here at the end. He even looked relieved when she finally yielded. Of course, now after the latest episodes... yeah, he's a jerk and most likely genuinely, ruthlessly evil and selfish. But at this point, as of Ep.5, that wasn't a forgone conclusion yet in my opinion.
This was my favorite episode of this series so far, it really feels like a treasure hunt adventure. Also I wouldn’t complain about an all expenses paid vacation to that resort.
I absolutely adore this show so far. Every single cast member is such a joy to watch. I don't know if they will, but I would love to see more of this show if they have any ideas for a Season 2. Can't wait to see more of the crew's reactions.
Right off the bat, this is the only channel that I've seen even acknowledge the giant turret. That is totally coming into play before the end of the season. I won't get into specifics but ep 7 tonight paid off a lot of seemingly inconsequential foreshadowing, they don't just show or tell you something for no reason in this show.
i have assumed that the waiter itself said "oh no, not again", and that he's not only been eaten before, but has survived the Hutt Digestion system......making him the toughest species in the universe
And wild guess before seeign E7: Supervisor is a SM-series droid. SM-33 is the supervisor of one of the other "At"'s who was reprogrammed and modified.
Honestly? This show didn't miss so far for me (including episodes 6 and 7 in that). It just keeps being that good. So much fun. If i had kids, this is the kind of SW i'd gladly watch with them.
Whoever he is, I think Captain Rennod is a Weequay, there's a lot of motifs of those jawlined tusks in his hideout. Now perhaps... This is the lineage of HONDO
Tak Rennod being the Administrator seems odd. A pirate decides to take control of a utopian colony? I guess it's possible. The best evidence of the theory though is two mysteries of the show involve who those two people are and what they look like. So theoretically, it makes sense they are the same person.
Calling it now that it's Neels grandpa or something who is the old Captain. Pirate gone suburban life sounds very plausible. Going to At Attin to plunder but finding peace and love instead. Can't wait until I have time to watch the next episode.
He held the knife with the back towards her neck, NOT with the cutting edge. I can't believe nobody saw that. It was all a show for the Robot so he is now the captain.
@@LaCheeserie Ah young padawan, the serrated side is for sawing stuff like wood and bone. Not cutting into the flesh on a 12 year old's neck. You'd think a pirate would know that...
@@LaCheeserie Drop it before you get surrealistic in your argumentation. Google "Occam's razor" you youngling, and apply the principle it explains to your last argument. The grownups do it all the time... well, some of them. Try it.
I think Rennon(?) is dead and was one of those skeletons. 33 said he was stabbed in the back and his last act was crashing the ship to take out the whole crew. But considering we didn’t see the holo clearly I wouldn’t put it past them to have a surprise reveal near the end.
Whose the Captain now? The more we find out about Jod the more questions we have. Now we know the treasure of At Attin, thou I can't say I remember no At Attin. Wonder if Pokkit ever had to fight for her own hand & change her destiny?
This shows captures the wonder and diversity of worlds in the Star Wars Galaxy. This combined with the heart and spirit of adventure ; think George Lucas would approve.
Jod may be spitting scuffed facts, but they are still Jedi facts... just from a grittier perspective. Does he have this from direct experience as a CW and O66 survivor, or was he like a dark Ezra Bridger, whose near or ex-Jedi mentor failed, rejected, or corrupted him as he found refuge from The Inquisition in the dark belly of the SW underworld. There are so many furnishings here pulled DIRECTLY from the SWTOR Strongholds furnishings, and even the sunken acid pool entry to the Pirate Captain's lair looks just like the Nar Shadda Stronghold Garage extension. Pokkit looks NOTHING like any Dathomiri, what she resembles more than anything is an Arkanian. Cthulian horrors need a spa day too!! The Goonies representation remains strong with this one.... fill out the checklist thusly: Trap-filled labyrinth of death? ✅️ Secret Lair Puzzles? ✅️ Cryptic messages with hidden clues? ✅️ The betrayal by challenging Fern is fully template drawn in this Treasure Planet tale with a Star Wars skin... there was never any doubt that was a story beat they would commit to.😁 TBF, Wim had a 50-50 chance to get that right, but tales of Jedi in his datapad didn't come with detailed safety diagrams. Boy is lucky to only lose his fragile pride, mishandling a lightsabre. 🤔
I honestly don't support this poor writing. Some people try to compare and parallel this with Goonies. Sit on a Twinkie, if you think those two even closely compare, you don't know anything about "good writing."
