Glad you enjoyed the weekend and thanks for the AAR. It's definitely given me a few things to think about, I'll definitely have to order a handsaw and rethink my old sleeping bag.

A small camp axe might be more versatile since you can use the back of it to pound stakes in the ground too. This was the thing I missed the most when I recently went camping for the first time in a long while.

Really digging this series.. I would check out some bush-crafting channels (recommend coal cracker on youtube). Will likely be able to use a lot of the Shelter building aspects and other simple outdoor skills to add to your experience.

i like to test new sleeping gear overnight in my back yard at different temps so i know whats comfortable combo. if you get cold your close to the house and can get more layers.

If they had bottle of water, cut out the bottom and use it as a coffee cup ;)

That would have been a good idea.

@@GunfatherMilsim A water bottle is also good if you don't have any means of boiling water. You can hang a bottle of water over a fire and it will boil your water. I didn't believe this until I tried it myself :P

Great AAR video. Can you tell me again what app for navigation did you use? A-tac or something...

I used the ATAK app and just sent screen shots of my position. My 10 digit MGRS grid coordinates were in the lower corner of every screenshot.

I´d probably missed the information, but what bb weight did you use, and how many Joules? Many thanks!

Real Sim's joule limits are higher than normal. Their DMR limit was 2.15 joule. I actually had some feeding issues at that level so I dialed my SR25 down to somewhere around 2.05 with .32g BBs if I recall correctly. Honestly I didn't see an significant performance difference over the 1.82 joules I use it at locally.
