I love seeing how geometry can be applied to art.
I absolutely love them. It reminds me of a quilt. Simply gorgeous
Love love his work.
Me too.
He is so creative and artistic. Love ❤️ his work of art. Especially the black squares.
As a fellow abstract myself Sean Scully's artwork is truly very beautiful, captivating, and inspiring. Definitely considering looking up more research on him. Maybe I will be able to contact him directly if so that would be amazing.
This gives me hope that my "circles" art can succeed.
“Eye” can certainly picture that “sphere”.
Thank you for sharing his art...
Love your art, Such wonderful colors & form!
Love love his work. So simple but so powerful
The one with the black squares are calming and meaningful. I love it!
This art feels not just artistic, but mathematical.
Nice.
Or a grift.
There's something calming about his artwork that I usually don't associate with abstract style. Perhaps it's the boxes/stripes or the color combinations that look more like plaid flannels vs. a painting. The black square representing Covid disruption is very evocative - as it breaks up the sense of calm and well-being associated with his patterns. Intriguing style.
Beautiful colours
More mainstream channels such as CNN and other outlets, should follow the same news storytelling method of CBS Sunday morning. There are barely any that showcase the creative topics and inspiring stories of various types of artists, non profits and volunteers, small businesses and the youth. I cannot count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a news story about artists of today from different parts of America. When all we give is negative news, at the end of the day it's not news anymore. There is no bad without good. Thanks CBS ☀️ for doing a great job of showing us the things that can bring people together.
emotional depth, art just didn't have it until Sean came along
This was so awesome!!!
not sure if i love his work or hate it - need to find out more
great piece, very interesting
I want to be known as an artist someday That's my goal in life
use invisible paint, you'll make a fortune and be famous for sure
@@throughmyeyes9940 Do you have any idea where one may get it?
@@throughmyeyes9940 I don't understand your logic?
@@jaysartori9032 sure; from the minds of art critics, the newly rich and paint boxes of dreamers
@@jaysartori9032 as well as i don't understand the minds holding little of not manner of a sense of art
"During the pandemic he incorporated black squares!" OMG I haven't heard anything more creative in my life! 😂
rich, eh?
@@throughmyeyes9940 ...🤣😉💞
@Sergio Correa Asmar ikr! What an idea, could’ve never thought of that one! WAIT! Black circles!
Congrats on your hard work, extruding the easy quip. You found one minute thing you could frame a criticism around, one that is irrelevant to the work. Time to celebrate your empty genius.
im a little lost on his art.. its really calm with the bright colors and stripes its acutally okay ^^
I guess you can't have sick ish art.
Without a sick wasp art, sprinkled in.
I guess all the Remington, and Borglum are gone.
Stuck with this.
Next week "Graffiti art". Oh, boy!
Please see MAP Sean Scully you would love to come to South Africa in Richmond in the Karoo and do a residency .Please come over
the emperor's new clothes method, amazing
'Nuzzling Bully Beef'- All Scully can remember from the playground incident was the jumper, cue 40 years of black and red walls of fear.
How I As an artist , albeit more representative, I get why abstracts sell well, they ad a little color. look good over your couch . But galleries have a financial gain to push work that is easy to produce. To claim as an expert. That the easy is more valuable , is just capitalism. Of course he had many warehouse of work. He could do 1 a day .
super aet
Seems like a nice enough guy, but I just don't see the significance. Good for him though. Takes all kinds, I guess.
Go see his paintings. The color work is the thing and it rivals Mark Rothko's in term of having a spiritual mystery. All the vapid talk about stripey-ness is a distraction. The guy is a magician with color.

One-trick pony. He's been boring since he left the womb.
And you do better?

Do you have talent?
That ain't art! LOL
Art is complicated.
Not everyone can understand.
Rothko ripoff
now that guy Rothko, he was a genius
Easy to make, easy to fake
Hahahaha Followed up "Gabby n Mark" with "Pam n Secret Chris" - Now tell everyone where the money came from.
Beautiful.
The Van Gogh is something I would like on my wall. This is not.
