      This is a bit one-sided though. Success in breeding is not good method to judge if someone`s life is better and easier. If that would be true, we would have to consider people of the West as very poor and unhappy, as they have a lot less children than people in India, Sub-saharan Africa or Afganistan.

    • @SM-pv4sn
      @SM-pv4sn 4 года назад +1

      @@kamilkrupinski1793 One also would need to consider the economics of fertility, and the success of one's offspring. Fertility is heavily influenced by wealth: having more wealth means one has likely less time for romance, they have higher standards for a mate (wealthy self-made women have few mates that meet their standards), access to birth control, access to recreation that would distract from mating, the list goes on. The cost of raising children increases with one's wealth also, making another barrier to high fertility.
      For the success of one's children, we often see that the countries with the highest fertility rates often have high infant and child mortality rates. It's not so much that we have lots of children, they need to go onto being successful in life (and surviving).

      I feel like he was rather one sided in his arguments. After all, even if historically only half as many men got to breed, the ones that did had twice as many children as the average woman who got to breed. It kind of has to work that way. And while men are more likely to be beaten or killed than women, women are vastly more likely to be raped, but he doesn't mention that either. And while men may now have higher mortality rates from most causes and at most ages, historically women died in childbirth in large numbers. I suspect that men have had longer average lifespans for most of history. He is also kind of disingenuous with his put down of the idea that men run the world for men. Rich men may not influence the world for the betterment of men in general, but they very much do trade favors and discriminate to keep males at the top of the heap, and when they die their accumulated wealth and influence has almost always gone to males rather than females. While he is mentioning the Kinsey study he could have also mentioned that a huge percentage of women rarely or never achieve orgasm. I doubt most guys would want to be even the most attractive sort of female if they had to give that up. I also doubt that most men would want to experience bloating and cramps while bleeding from their crotch every month for decades- unless they were instead dealing with the morning sickness and all the other side effects of pregnancy leading up to the excruciating pain of childbirth. Individually most of the points Lloyd is making are quite reasonable, but when you ignore the even larger number of equally reasonable points on the other side of the argument that isn't just considered sexist, it is sexist.

      @@faroncobb6040 You do realize that more men have been killed due to fighting and wars then women who have died in childbirth right? Even when women do die in childbirth how sad that can be, at least if the child survived birth, those women at least complete the circle of life and their genes are passed down. On the other hand men again die a lot more and most of them would never be able to raise a family. Women did die in large numbers due to childbirth but also men were even less likely to survive. Medicine raised both genders life expectancy although mens are still lower. Also would women like to experience war, like having your arm blown off your friends dying around you. I mean men get the shit end of the stick because that's what evolution dictated.

There are many women that are not the "most beautiful" that never have children as well. It's just the way the world works. Men have the opportunity to have kids during their whole lives, however. Women don't have that luxury. In addition to that, being ugly or any deformity most certainly hasn't meant all doom and gloom in the modern era. Bit late, but here are some examples I thought up.
      Less likely to be seen as competent. More likely to be expected to do unpaid labor such as housework and child rearing which tends to put women at the mercy of partners. Sometimes this works out fine, but if the partner is abusive, it can be challenging to leave without any financial support. Being taken less seriously when seeking medical care. More likely to deal with period pain, (not all women experience this, nor do all people who experience period pain belong to the category, women.)
      Naturally there are plenty of disadvantages to being a man as well. And even more disadvantages to being nonbinary than either a woman or man, and that's not even including intersex people versus male or female.

    Men also do most of the hard labor and is much more likely to be injured or die working.
    Men don’t live as long as women, witch sucks but also means women get all the money(not undeserving necessarily)the husband has saved from his labor.
    Some women say there is a wage gap, But don’t take into consideration the type of jobs, hours put in(women often chose a better work/family balance) or how men get ahead often due to their biological competitiveness and need to prove oneself, often to get a women.
    Women beat men in achieving college degrees at all levels in the United States.

    • @christinesmith3711

      Mark Kazmier If you are smart and well off the benefits of being a specific gender are minimal . Men have higher wages as they are more likely get higher up in terms of positions. Women live a bit longer and tend to get to spend more time with the family. If you are in a lower socioeconomic group there are still quite stark differences, low skill manual labour jobs are significantly harder for most women than men, access and knowledge about contraception and abortion is significantly lower in lower socioeconomic groups so they may get stuck having kids earlier that they may want (it is significantly easier for a man to run away from an unwanted child than a woman). And then in the third world I think most can agree that being a woman is horrendous.

    I'm not a woman so I'm not going to discuss their side of the fence as Lindy coined it, I don't think that would be fair. Converserly, I don't think it is fair for women to dictate what men can feel about their issues either. So here is the male side of the fence.
    In my experience:
    Men feel more pressure to be tough, hard, competant and not to talk about things or show their emotions.
    Men aren't allowed to be ill. Tell your female co-workers and they'll be cries of man floo etc. This is one of the reasons why men don't go to the doctors and die more.
    Men have a harder time at the dating game.
    A lack of 'traditionally male' jobs because of the decline of industry has resulted in a crisis of identidy for a lot of boys and men.
    Men get a really hard time when getting custody of their children.
    Male rape and domestic abuse is seen as a joke.
    Men are way more likely to be homeless, poor, addicts or in jail. They also serve longer sentences for the same crimes.
    Men are way more likely to commit suicide or be depressed, and Male post natal depression is seen as a joke.
    Men are way more likely to die or be seriously hurt through violence.
    Men don't live as long in general.
    Boys do worse than girls in school.
    Men working with children are viewed with more suspicion - are trusted less.
    Now I'm not saying women don't have their issues either, because they do, but these are my experiences.

    • @wwerdo4
      @wwerdo4 6 лет назад +7

      Then you are just unattractive and probably don't do much to govern real respect anyways. It's a harsh reality out there. Also... Almost 2 meters isn't exactly "tall"... That's a pretty average height among men at least it is here in Canada. I know because I'm about the same height 5 foot 11 inches, or 180 cm.
      But if you were to put two men with equal position in power and attractiveness next to each other and ask people to choose who they think is the "real leader" or who they'd choose as a partner. Most cases are going to end up choosing the one who is taller. Obviously there are outliers.
      Using yourself isn't a good example. How are you going to notice something like that? You aren't going to notice weather or not people are giving you more or less respect because you are tall. Not unless someone tells you directly that's the reason.

    • @nineL7191
      @nineL7191 6 лет назад +27

      You do realize that "almost two meters" means he is like 6'6 or something and.. you know... that's like a whole head taller than you. That's far from being average, especially in Canada. Even here in Germany you see those people not very often.
      And btw I can fully agree on the guy's point. Height doesn't matter at all, except if you don't have any other things in your life and you can only brag with your height. However, something like that can be easily outweighed by the shape of your face or your weight, so basically a guy who is 5'3 and is good looking, muscular and confident will get probably in the end of the day by far more girls than the giant, who looks average.

    • @wwerdo4
      @wwerdo4 6 лет назад +5

      Ah right, sorry you're correct. I was thinking of Yards not Meters. So my bad on that point, not sure how I got that mixed up.
      But my point wasn't that height is the only deciding factor. I thought I made that clear. I made the point that 2 people of equal standards with the only difference being height, the guy who is taller generally governs more immediate respect. But he could gain or lose respect just as quick, this is merely a superficial standard based on appearance. Yes there are plenty of other factors like you say. That's why I said, he probably doesn't do much to govern respect in the first place. Height doesn't mean instant respect, height can just increase the respect you already have from other aspects of you, weather it be appearance, line of business, attitude, popularity, personality, etc.
      Again, I never said height was the deciding factor off the get go. It's just a "bonus" i guess you might say.
      You're right, it's better to be short good looking and confident, than tall and painfully average.

    I know of a couple where both the man and woman worked very highly paid jobs. They had bought a second home and their first house had been rented out to help pay the mortgage on the second one. It turned out when the renter left, that they had trashed the house completely, and the couple were unable to rent it after that without huge repairs so were struggling with the mortgage payments on the second house and the repairs on the first house.
    At the insistence of her husband, the wife started looking for a higher paid job, in order to help cope with the bills. She went to interviews and got the job offer, but then didn't want to leave the job she was in as she really liked it and it was closer to her children and home - had she taken the new job she wouldn't have been able to drop the kids off at school, or make their dinner, or spend time helping them with their homework etc (something that she'd always done and her husband didn't do). She couldn't decide what to do - take new job and higher money and be able to pay the bills, or stay in the lower paid job and be able to be a mother to her children.
    Her husband was pushing her to take the better job as they desperately needed the money or they'd default on the mortgage, so she eventually went to her boss and told him/her about the situation, that she'd have to take the higher paid job (even though she was unhappy about it and loved her job, and didn't want to leave). Her boss said she was indispensable to the company, promoted her to a more senior position, and gave her a substantial raise (more than the other job was offering).
    It struck me as I heard this story, that perhaps part of the reason women are often paid less than men is because they don't want to risk losing their jobs by asking for more money (whereas men will often take that risk, and some of them may fail and lose their job entirely). She was doing her job as well as (or better than) any of the men in her workplace and obviously deserved the raise, but she'd never asked for it before this point (and only had this conversation with her boss at all because her husband had pushed her into getting a better paid job).
    Also I can see that many women are perhaps more concerned about their family's welfare than their own personal success - as a mother she had to worry about whether her family were fed, taken care of and happy. Her husband didn't have to worry about this (since she did it for him) and worked longer hours further from home because it paid more (even though it meant he didn't spend as much time with his kids and wasn't there to prepare meals, take them to school or help with homework).
    It's not that women aren't as good at their jobs - it's that women play it safe and consider family needs before personal success (basically they are less competitive than men).

    As a woman, the only thing I hate about my gender is having painful, intense periods, especially due to the fact that I have PCOS. But, I enjoy being a woman.
    Yes, there are some issues in our western society, but I am so grateful I was not born in other countries where even trying to have a say will get you beaten up or killed.
    These are the issues I witnessed men having to face:
    1. Being told they're pussies for showing emotions, or simply trying to avoid conventional boyish activities.
    2. Being told they're pussies for still being virgin at 18.
    3. Having to be "the strong" one in a couple, or having to choose a certain career because otherwise they're not "man" enough.
    4. Feeling the stress of not being the "providing" head of the family. Calm down, we're in the 21st century, and both women and men should contribute to the family. Numerous cases of suicide I read on newspaper, were because the father couldn't stand the idea of not being a "proper" man because he was unemployed. A woman is not an object, is not a body, a vagina, just like a man is not his money, or his job.
    5. Being afraid of flirting with a woman, because some women probably misinterpret normal, proper flirting and think it's harassment and molestation. Yes, I saw a girl at the club who grabbed a guy by his throat simply because he was smiling at her.
    6. This is personal because it's only based on my experience seeing my brother and other boys in the neighbourhood but... Definitely superficial and shallow friendships, because they never EVER talk with each other about secrets, insecurities, problems. All they do is playing soccer or videogames together, telling bullshit, jokes. But the moment they need help, they never talk about it, holding it until it becomes too big to be managed, ending up in episodes of extreme anger and frustration towards family and institution.
    7. Having to endure a woman's rage and even violence, because "hitting" women is wrong. Hitting a woman is not necessarily domestic violence. Domestic violence is a mix of physical AND mental abuse and manipulation, it's a specific dynamics and it can't be attributed to, let's say, a simply slap or a punch. Of course men are usually stronger, but why should the woman feel entitled to hit a man, and then feel shocked if he slaps her in return? If a woman is annoying you, she is hurting you, you should be able to react. Maybe try not to use your full force like you'd do with a man, but DO something.
    8. Most of the time, when a couple gets a divorce, it's always the woman who gets custody of the kids. I witnessed some fucked up scenarios where the woman was not able to care for the kids and the kids WANTED to stay with the dad, yet she won because she was "the mother".
    There are other things but I currently only remember these ones.

Maybe I just live in a shitty neighbourhood but that's part of my experience: men who can't say sorry, who can't sympathize with others, men who only want to fuck around because they were always told "women are bitches, they will hurt you" and so on. Even if it seems like a small detail, I wish boys were given the opportunity to cry, and be sensitive, and be whatever they wanted to be.
      How many times have you seen a father telling his kid "men don't cry"?
      It's also part of the reasons why, as the guy said in the video, women are more likely to ATTEMPT suicide, whereas men actually kill themselves. If only they were able to cope with a damaged ego and negative feelings, some of these men could have been helped, but they rarely seek for help because "men don't cry".

    i work in a school that is pretty traditional but making good strides of progress. we have almost exactly a 50/50 male/female teacher split, and the office jobs are the same. we have 4 principal and vice-principal positions, all of which had been held by the same 4 men for 25 years. they were of course getting on a bit, and a couple years ago the principal and one of the vice principals retired. one of the vice principals naturally got promoted to principal, which left 2 vice principal positions free, and they were filled by 2 senior male teachers. i was close to outraged. we were doing so well and then they pull this? to drum up a bit of support before making anything of it, i talked to some of the senior female teachers about how they felt about it. 4 of them had been offered the jobs, one was offered a second time with more money when the other 3 turned it down, and she turned it down again, all 4 giving a mixture of not wanting more hours and more responsibility, and preferred being more close to a few students than only a little contact with all of them. it was only after that the positions were then offered to male teachers.
    i was then almost counter-outraged. why should any women or any men be offered more money just because the sex they happen to be differs from the sex of other people in the company? i now firmly believe in accepting people's choices, and making all offers fair and balanced. we shouldn't deny people who want a job and coax others who don't want it just to make more pleasing statistics.

      Beautiful story. Had you not actually looked into the situation by talking to the women involved, you'd really be getting the wrong side of the story. Regardless of the context and theme, it's an important lesson to learn that getting both sides is very important.

      I guess she was offered more money, because whoever did the hiring saw the benefit of balancing out the genders. I hope they'd consider the same if the situation was the opposite :)

    • @satoau1
      @satoau1 7 лет назад +10

      yes, and we try to balance genders to make things fair to both, but then if we're offering more money to one gender that is unfair and we're doing the exact thing we're trying to avoid. if genders have the same employment opportunity that is fair, regardless of who decides to take the opportunity offered.

      Yes, god forbid we base jobs on merit and instead go with the extremely sexist approach and make a position based entirely if they are the right sex for the job. We need to get that 50/50 balanced because that really makes for a quality workforce.

    How to sleep during any flight:
    1. Don't sleep the night before the flight. Picture yourselves falling to your death while kerosin burns your skin away, that might help.
    2. Get some...herbs into your system.
    3. Driving will be difficult at this stage so get someone to get you to the airport.
    4. Don't try to smuggle anything, you will be picked out be security 100% of the times you try this.
