    Ih sweet Jesus he's hurt a finger and is still doing the gig. And playing the blues like its supposed to be played. And he's playing with only two fingers 😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉🎉

    Saw in him in LA in the early eighties , bought tears to my eyes, had an amazing band with him and he was explosive.

      I was working the bar. 1980-82, saw all the shows for free and made some $ as a work-study. Great to see these show again.

    Of the three Kings, I prefer this guy. Always regretted not getting to see him live. Made plans see him in my town and his show was cancelled due to health reasons. He died shortly thereafter. R.IP. A.K.

    So fortunate to have been able to see him once, with BB King and Ruth Brown. Albert was the baddest King of them all.

    I was there! for the whole series, which included Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, Willie Dixon,, Taj Mahal, James Cotton! Ridiculous!

      trombone player is my professor at CU Boulder, name is Paul McKee and he just shared the story of how he got on that gig with our jazz studies program. He was working construction in Iowa over the summer between undergrad and grad school and the trombone player in Albert's band couldn't make it, so Paul's friend from high school called him and told him that they needed a bone player the day of this gig! they gave him a tenor clef book and while he was sight reading and sight transposing, the other horn players told him there were dance steps as well! Paul ended up traveling around east St. Louis, southern Illinois and such for a few months before heading to UNT for grad school

      The tone was perfect for me.. guess it depends on your preferences of sound. I like mine mellow, but hot ain't bad either.
