Tropical Hardwood or Mahagony
We used a 11.25” wide by .75” thick mahogany board but any tropical hardwood about .75” thick would work well. Ipe deckboards would be a great option.

I think this is my favorite of your projects; very beautiful!
Nice redesign. I loved the way this wood looks with the concrete.
A great revision to the original. I think this might be next weekends project.
Love it. Cool modern look 👍👍👍
Nice update to the concrete stool!
Well done Jessie, it’s nice to see you making content
Simple. Elegant. Great job!
The rich mahogany looks great with the concrete top, Jessie

This is so cool!
It was awesome Jessup!
Love it!
thanks, justin!
Very pretty
OMG! You are using Talleti icecream jar, hilarious!!! I love this icecream and have many jars that im re-using!!
Awsome project
Super cool stool!! Can't wait to meet ya :D
Only two more months!
AWesome
Looks great! Awesome work! For future note... If you mix vermiculite or perlite in with your concrete at a ratio of 3 parts concrete and 1 part of one the other two? You'll end up with a lightweight concrete mix with no noticable strength loss for an application like this.
Castor oil and rubbing alcohol mixed together 1:9 ratio and sprayed through a regular spray bottle on your mold (bucket) makes a great mold release too for concrete.
That's a great tip! Thank you :)
Oh that's cool. I tried this project but I had cracks in the concrete after 24hrs. I'm not sure how I can remove the stool without breaking it. How do I avoid cracks next time and how do I remove the stool from the bucket?
Can you make a template for the legs? Bc it will really help me!

Great project but is there any reason you cut the legs out of one piece instead of cutting each section out of separate boards and then joining them at the top? Imo the way you did it causes a lot of wastage and the vertical grain at the top is prone to cracking.
About how much did the top wind up weighing?
Cool looking stool, Jessie! Have you ever had problems with the concrete cracking soon after? I made one of Ben's concrete bucket stools (1.0) a while back, and it developed a large crack in the top.
please please please share the dimensions or template of the Legs
Great update. How tall was it when you finished it?
14 1/2" overall; concrete is 2 3/4" thick
👍👍👍
What kind of Concret did use?
Bucket stool hmmm sounds like something you have to do when the jobsite doesn’t have a porta potty hahaha
Jessy, did you lubricate the bucket ?
nope. the concrete actually pops out pretty easily. just stretch the sides in opposite directions a few times and give it a little wiggle.
Nice idea. I would however not put too much weight on those legs, with the grain being structurally unsound in some places. Your weight will probably be fine.
true and good catch! it did pass the weight test for both sitting and standing. i'll be interested to see if the stress is greater on the woodgrain in the legs or the wood to concrete connection.
Wait. Your Home Depot sells Mahogany?
It's true that Home Depot carries different stock in different regions. I bought the Mahogany in Southern California. It was either Santa Barbara or Lompoc, I forget which one specifically
I'm sure you can find awesome woodworking plans on woodprix
nice project as always. and your jeans have a little stain on them. just saying
wait... WHAT. heps, you keep me in line. just for that, i owe you an "s" and... a gold star
Great project , but the whole video is underexposed. Everything is too dark
Im not into wood working i just like seeing the stuff made but this isnt enjoyable it seemed like someone had a gun to your head. You should sound like you enjoy what your presenting.
I wish you would say this to my face because then you would realize that this is the natural sound of my voice and I would never have to know that you are grammatically challenged.
ijessup im confused to if you're triggered or not. And i know im gramaticly incorrect cause i dont give a fuck. And if you are triggered dont be. Just some constructive criticism. Your stool looks noice
No need to be confused; I'm not triggered. I'm glad you like the stool and I can appreciate your comment much more now that I understand that your criticism was meant to be constructive.
ijessup thank you
My pleasure :)
