  • When she asked me if I had bitten off more than I can chew, my answer was - if I can lift it, I can fix it! And so begins this massive clean up job that took me around 14 hours to complete, with 2 trips to the landfill. I was actually driving around looking for a terrible (or good, depending on your perspective) yard to transform, as I really needed a challenge and some good content for my viewers. As you can see, I found it on this property. This is part 2 of 2.

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
    Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
    1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
    2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
    3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
    4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
    5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
    Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.

Love that you get to the bare bones,,,
That you do a small section at a time
Camera angles are that we the viewer can see exactly what you are cutting
That you deal with the junk (would have been nice if this customer could have let go more of their junk)
    Your attention to detail

Um, yikes. This one is a real collection of surprises! She's rough indeed. Chickens... how cute. Isnt rhe owner concerned with SNAKES? Tall grass, debris around... kids toys.... nope, I'd level it down if I were the owner.
    Briliant clean up

Another jaw dropper, George! So much work was put into this entire property, and the results are just amazing. So much to look at! My favorite part was the way you stacked the bricks .. so satisfying to see them lined up more symmetrically 😍 (the precision weapon at its finest) and, of course, the chooks 🐓

Hi GEORGE! Yes. You meticulously do your Excellent, Good Deeds.
Love it. And you never leave the cuttings strewn about all over the place... that which drives me up a tree.

We have been watching your channel for months and love it! So satisfying. A few questions:
    1. Have to you tracked the number of steps you do on jobs? What’s the record?
    2. Would you be open to doing a then and now episode?
    3. What do you eat during and after work? Have you got the energy to cook? 😂

George The Gentleman, who goes above and beyond ! Fantastic Job George ! I Love how you break the garden into smaller pieces and stick with it till its done and then move on, I guess You'd get disheartened looking at it as a whole ? Greeting from The Republic of Ireland

This is the sweetest thing ever!. And, WOW, what a transformation. It doesnt even look like the same place. I didnt expect all that pavement to be under there. Beautiful job. A mom working and carrying the household definitely needs help like this. Taking care of not just that but her partner with medical issues as well. Bless her heart and bless yours for giving her such a big boost! Now that this is so manageable, she will hopefully be able to find the time to keep up with it. And, awww, you fixed the trampoline ❤

    George, what a fantastic job!
Did you have any idea there was that nice paving under all that?
I really enjoyed watching you find the real yard that was hiding.
    Wonderful work and great patience.

Of course, the owner wants to keep most of it. They're not out there having to take care of it. Go figure. I'm sorry, but some people are just flat lazy.🤔 grateful for your hard work 💯

I liked your comment on ride on v push mowers George. And your precision is precisely why I enjoy watching your videos! I love neat and tidy which is how you always leave your yards. Thank you.

The only critique could give is that I like deep, clean, straight edging lines... even if the over growth is cut. Still I like to see the deep, straight, fresh lines of the edging. I see you edge sideways.. what about straight up and down? To make the deep lines..which does keep the grass from growing over it too easily.

Love your work. I really appreciate seeing you bag all the cut grass and haul it away. The job just doesn't look finished if you leave all the cut grass laying on the lawn.

I find the big sit-down mowers unsuitable for such work. If you have a large flat area that may go, most houses and gardens do not have that. There are small paths and sheds and toys which you have to go around, which works quite easily with a push mower.

I started using the same method you use as work and clean as you go. Carry a bucket along as well. It really makes for easier yard maintenance. Enjoy your channel very much.

Very pleasant to watch. So glad you know your plants and can tell what should be kept instead of razing it all to the ground.
