  • Circa 1974-1975 Texas Aggie Band Drum Majors and Bugle Rank review halftime drill prior to Band Drill practice on the Band Drill Field behind Dorm 11.
    00:29 Col. (then Maj.) Haney, Band Directory and Lt. Joe McMullen, Associate Band Director evaluate drill practice from the window of the corner room in Dorm 11. This room was equipped with a public address system (control unit is visible just above Col. Haney's head and to his left) with loud speakers on the roof of the Dorm. Lights were mounted on the dorm roof that would illuminate the drill field when drill practice was held after daylight hours. This particular corner room was assigned to the combined band drum major.

    1:00 Aggie Band at evening formation. Drill Field uniform is worn to chow when the band conducted drill practice. The Band formed up for morning and evening formations in front of Dorm 11 and entered Duncan Dining Hall at the side entrance nearest Dorm 11.

    Members of the Aggie Band held Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corp contracts, as junior and senior cadets. Enrollment in ROTC for Aggie Band underclassmen was mandatory.
    Prior to1973, American men were subject to conscription in the Army.
    In 1973, U.S. Forces were in action in Southeast Asia.
