    Should I spread the thermal paste with a small spatula? Which is better, small dots or flattened thermal paste?
    Thank you for the video, totally helped me a lot❤

      It's my pleasure, my friend. 😊 I deeply appreciate your taking the time to provide feedback. If you're inclined to support the channel further, feel free to like and subscribe-or even both!
      Regarding your question, just place a rain drop in the middle and you more than fine, if you want to spread that is fine but more work, for the same results.
      that is something that you don't need to worry about, just one drop and all done.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

    Does it help with performance a lot after 2-3 years of using by simply cleaning like this? No risk of doing this right?

      Regarding your question, you can use tissues but you will need an alcohol 95% minimum, you can risk using a 70% alcohol, but not recommended.
      or just dry wipe.

    thanks for the video. It really helps me but can you do a close up take on how much the paste needed for CPU and GPU? I am new to thermal paste replacement. I know that for desktop CPUs you need about a pea sized thermal paste but laptop CPU and GPU has different sizes.

      Regarding your question, i been servicing over 17 years and i seen many people worry about the size of the paste, don't worry just place one drop of the paste more is better don't worry about it, its not conductive and it will be fine.
      and this laptop does not have GPU only has CPU, the big dye is the CPU/GPU, and the small dye is the PCH chip.
      just place a fair about and don't be scared, the diameter around 4-5mm

      @@uFixTek i don't know but there is a misinformation about my laptop. When i bought it, it has i5-1135G7 CPU and Nvidia MX350 GPU. On its box, says 14ITL6 but on lenovo vantage it says 15ITL6. Lenovo website also said 14ITL6 when using Service Bridge.
      Anyway, my laptop does has GPU in it. Its smaller than the CPU. So i am assuming that it needs a bit less paste than the CPU.
      Also is it possible to use thermal pad on the CPU and/or GPU? Like thermal grizzly minus 8 pad. I think pads are less prone to mistakes than paste for beginner like me. Just cut the pad according the size of the die and put it. Some people said to use 0.5 to 1.0mm on the CPU. I am not sure.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Год назад +1

      Okay, if you have two independent chips, then you have both a GPU and a CPU. Please never use a thermal pad on the GPU or CPU unless you want poor results. Trust me, you can't go wrong with applying thermal paste. Just use a nice amount and you're all set.
