The SCG has been like this all summer for Shield games, if anyone had been paying attention…. Yet some in the media were still speculating before the match about us playing two spinners! If Lyon didn’t have 500 Test wickets even he would have been lucky to get picked on this surface.
Looks the phrase "Doctored pitch" is only used when the match is held in India. If the same happens anywhere else it is a pitch "never seen before"!!! Wow
Agreed. I fully expected a pitch like this, given that reason is predicted and Australia would want to ensure WTC finals qualification in this match itself, without depending on the SL matches. Fair play.. Nobody wants a rained out draw..
I see this kind of pitch as advantage to India. If this were to be a flatty, good luck dismissing in form Australians. On contrary Australia does have a bowling attack to dismiss India on any kind of Australian wicket.
I really hope India pulls this one off, or it'll be the same old song and dance: suddenly it's a batting paradise, and India's always playing catch-up.
They got away with perth by bumrah magic on final season but here he didn't get only 2 over on 1st day 1st season key for our bowlers bumrah has to be careful because of his 54 over maraton not long agooo konstas that kid is having a plan and it's paying of the more he bee the more emotional our players are running out of control
Very disappointing to see such a green wicket, the batsman on both sides are struggling enough so don’t need a green mamba. It was a wonderful Test in Melbourne lasting five days but still had assistance for the bowlers.
If this pitch turns into a batting paradise like perth did after too much sunlight then its fine otherwise this is borderline dangerous even aussie batters would get hit tomorrow
Wierd digs at South africa there considering India ( with or without Bumrah) has never won a series in South Africa - even when South Africa has drummed up a line up of anyone available to play
Bang on about Kohli. By not playing horizontal bat and not offering anything on those deliveries, he's just building up pressure for himself and eventually biting the bullet out of frustration. At this juncture, I'd say, just go all out and play it hard instead of being overcautious and building pressure for yourself and the team.

This topic hasn't been talked about in test cricket for a long time but I think this pitch could have been classified as too dangerous and unfit for test cricket. There was so much uneven bounce. It wasn't as bad as Kingston 1998 WI vs Eng but it was close. Highly interested to see what rating this pitch will get after the game is over
Wasn’t close to that Kingston pitch. People were being hit on the toe and then the head to deliveries pitched in the exact same place, in the first overs of the day
The wishy-washy language used to drop Rohit reflects the selectors' spinelessness and the continuation of feudal habits. It is pathetic. Rohit is an undisputed legend of white-ball cricket but not in red-ball cricket by any stretch of the imagination, so dropping him should be their most straightforward task. After all, as strange as it may sound, they're paid considerable sums to drop players and pick up new talents. They better do their job with honesty and without corruption of bias and feudalism.
So with Australia benefitting from a draw in their attempt to get to the WTC final how is this pitch doctored to favour Australia? If anything it directly hurt their chances and the pitch was prepared without knowing that Bumrah would become unfit to bowl. It really has been a tedious summer of cope from biased Indian fans.
I think the reason this match started on a friday is because they knew it would only last 3 to 4 days. Do not think there will be any chance of a draw. The extra days will be in case of rain.
