For me, I was at 120 for 15 years and came found slowly. 1-2 evert 2 or 3 weeks. I felt kinda shitty but every week it gets better. I'm on week 5 of being off and damn it's worth it. You all got this man!!! I wish I would have come found sooner.

Im on 55 now, been 15 years on... 2nd stint, but this one is 15yrs and zero harry at all. Been working full time for that whole time, but... its not something i wanna be on when im 50 in 3 years. I like that i function, i hate that i need to be here everyday to get it! ( the odd take away doesnt help, you cant go on holiday for 2 weeks). But i am on the way down monthly, i hope thats not toi long in between but i struggle once i get to around 40. Wish id never found harry...
Can you update us please.. what is 1-2 evert? Did you mean 1-2mg every 2 to 3 weeks? How are you feeling? What was the withdrawl like and how long did it last and much did you come off of?

Anyone that is new to methadone. I just went through it. Don’t go above 50mg-60mg! Every mg. Adds days or weeks to the withdrawals process. It’s easy to go up, very hard to go down. The instant I felt somewhat stabilized (12-14 days in) I dropped dose immediately. By 1 month in, I was dropping my dose every day I went to the clinic except weekends. Only cause you can’t. Jumped at 4mg. I didn’t even use my last take home dose. 2nd day I took my kids to Disney on ice, 3rd day I was doing chores around the house, 4th went to work. Sleeping 3-4 hours and minimal discomfort. Don’t go for the methadone high. It’s not worth it. And even at 45-50 you will eventually catch a buzz once you detox of fent or whatever opioid you were on.

Great choice if your can stabilize at 50 or 60. Don't let them trap you to 185 like me and take 3 years from walking in the door, to being like wtf am I still drinking this bullshit for

@@richardpedley6291 I’m doing great 2 months free, I feel like I cheated the system. It was still a 3 month journey. But never had restless legs or that dope sick horrible feeling. Quit vaping/smoking as well. All I had to do was go against everything the clinic nurses and counselors said.
Im relly proude of you lex i did the same i stoped smoking rember to eat properly and most of all rember your tolerace level is relly low now i pray you dont ever use again but its something you have to be relly cearfull about im proude of you m8 i hoped i was of some help to you i trewly wish you good luck in your fucher stay strong my m8
Coming of 15 mls in Ireland here, it's Sunday, had my last dose on Monday so 6 days ago, suffering but it's not unbearable, inshallah I will feel a bit better tomorrow

Bro I hear you trust me I know I've went through so many rattles over the last 26 years, I should be dead. These physicians prescribing it make millions off of others misery. But I just got so sick of going t the doc to the chemist I had to end it. Keep fighting bro you'll get there. I'm still dealing with serious head issues. In the states yous have access to suboxone and Kratom which help. Doctors in ireland just prescribe benzodiazepines/zopiclone/ and other meds in serious amounts. They'd write you a death cert if you asked over here. God bless 🙏

Hi can you tell me what dose you stoped your metherdone iv bin on metherdone for 32years I did a detox in my 20s and I went pretty much threw the same thing I didn't sleep for nearly 3weeks aswell and all the Dr said to me was I'd be dead if I'd bin awake for that long it's like your going incain if you can try get some zopyclone but don't take the zpyclone every day or you will get addicted to that then you'll rattel off them the only thing I can elp tell you and I'm so sorry it's not going to help you but what your going threw will end I used to try to get drunk but I don't advise that never you should be so proud of yourself of how far you have got but trust me I'm in .you late 40s and iv wasted the best part of my life and I carntget that back please don't make the same mistakes as I did in my life I really wish you good luck and just keep positive I now it feels hard now but your a he'll of a lot stronger than you could ever emanate once you do get clean all your strength in your body will come back I promise you
I’m a former fentanyl user who was able to quit using by taking methadone and then tapered off of the methadone through a clinic. 15 months ago I was at 110mgs and I’m now at 2mgs. I have been going through it lately. I feel like a walking zombie and have MAJOR restlessness in my stomach and legs which is causing insomnia. I can’t sleep, I’m depressed, and I feel like I’m being weighted down by every limb all of the time. If you can avoid going to a mg such as 110 or anywhere near that I would do so. The clinic tried to get me up to 140mg for the longest time. They push and push for you to go higher and don’t tell you about the repercussions… get off and stay off this crap will all you’ve got. Get clean. Stay clean and don’t put your body through anything like this again.
I'm currently at 70 and hope to not go any higher. Drawn the line in the sand so to speak. I was 40 years old when I started (illegally buying from a friend who got 150/day & had earned his monthly take homes- he was referred for pain management because of lymphoma). Back then my tolerance was so low I could take 5 and it would last for 24 hrs. That was 12 years ago, I'm 52 now and seems like I can't live without it. I work at a very fast paced truck stop QT and if I didn't have Methadone, I couldn't work. At least I can remain a productive member of society and not be on something illegal. Although, I know eventually my kidneys are going to start to fail because of the long term use of the methadone just like my Daddy's did. His cray cray Dr. had prescribed him 110 a day for 15 years.
@@clairestephens4916 I really hope that you can get off this stuff. No matter how much time has gone by, there’s always a way back. But boy boy does this stuff really mess with your body and mind to come off of. It’s not easy to readjust right away. I’m not sure when it’ll happen. I’m glad you’re not willing to go higher than 70. Why do they do this? I don’t understand why they push you to going up higher and higher. They keep saying well we just don’t want you to fall back on ADDICTION and the higher you go in the longer that you stay on it is the more likely you won’t be addicted. But I’m like this is an opioid. You’re just replacing one addiction for the other . They started me at 120 mg. I am currently at 30 mg because I insisted that I not take the dosage for three days. I basically disappeared on them for three days so when I came back, they couldn’t put me at 100 mg they had to start me at the lowest dose. And then I just refuse to go out from there. I feel like shit but like I don’t wanna take this crap anymore. I’m tired of being stuck to my house because you can’t Take a dose anywhere but at the clinic. I’m tired of the phone calls, P testing, all of it it’s just driving me nuts. I’d like to travel. I haven’t been able to leave my house for a year now because of this shit. I’m over it and I feel like these clinics are damn near, or just as bad as the drug itself.

None of the three clinics ever pushed me to go higher.Ive gone to three different clinics in 17yrs and I was never coerced into going higher .I always had to see the Dr.if I got past a certain amount of higher dose too
I was on methadone for almost 20 years and i get out 11 months ago and boy i feel like shit no sleep , sneezing , chills diarrheas etc...i don't see the end of this shit, if its hard phisically, mentally its worst....good luck to all of you detoxing this poison.
I love how these people with a degree think they truly understand withdraw. unless you have experienced it first hand... keep you thoughts and medical options to your self. They all looked us as junkies and a steady source of income. when going to the clinic I was constantly told I needed to increase my dose. to a addict it like, "more drugs, well sure!" had me up to 150 when I was honestly fine at 40 or 50. dwn to 20/25 now and I hope to be done by the first of the year. thinking about subs but I hear it's just as bad as methadone to kick. idk... stay off the pills kids.
Don't do it ! It's the same shit ,i jump from methadone to subuxone and then to kick that shit i have to go back to methadone cus the whitdraws was crazy after 30 days ,now i am stock in methadone for 19 years,i am in 13 mg and i Will try VIVITROL,i don't know if You herd about Vivitrol,made your homework about it cus there it's no whitdraws,help to stop the cravings and if You use any opioids it Will block it ,You have to be clean about 10 days to any opioids before get the first shot of vivitrol. Read about it ok.good luck.
Iv bin on metherdone for over 32years happy to say I'm 3months clean now I switched to subs and wished I'd never the only good thing about subs is thay hold you longer than metherdone but the detox off them is just has bad as metherdone I managed to detox off metherdone with backlofen and I slept everynight and I was doing 10ml drop everyweek the worst part about my detox was the lack of energy but I reduced down to 5ml then I stopped it dead best thing I ever did and iv just recently detox off 900mg of pregablin yes iv Doune a extreme detox but I'm nearly 50 and I'm just so sick of been abdicated to a drug it's just not worth it at all pluss wasting the best years of your life shrouded buy loosers wanting to rip you off every 5 minute not worth it enyway if enyone is reading my story I wish you all the best and pray you can get your life's back good luck pluss with backlofen you dont get restless legs or keep figerting around all the time I'm prescribed baclofen du to a stroke I had in my 30s it's a very strong drug so be carefull with it or you make your self very ill trust me iv Doune it lots of times just start with 20mg and titrate up your dose good luck
@Jimi Cicchini I agree, if I knew how hard methadone would be I would have just dealt with the 1-2 weeks of withdrawal from H or oxycodone. Methadone half-life is long compared to oxy and H. If you go to a methadone clinic then your pretty much just a policy number and they want to charge your insurance for every dose, meeting, and urine test. It’s crazy how those places work. If they wanted to help those addicted then it should be free or at least very cheap. Not $20 a day for meds, $50 a hour for counseling, and $15 per urine test.
One of the hardest things to go through, it’s torture, that’s why ppl don’t usually stop
@@richardpedley6291 I was on 100 mgs of methadone for 20 years, I stopped cold turkey Feb 2nd 2019, it was rough, I finally took Kratom a month into it because I couldn’t take it anymore, I still take Kratom, I stopped taking it 5 months into it but couldn’t sleep hardly at all, I lasted 6 months and started taking Kratom again because I just couldn’t sleep, I still don’t get no more than 6 hrs every night , I think I permanently messed myself up
You know nothing. I know every symptom. Not like the flu. Try sleepless for two weeks, profuse sweating, headache, fog, that’s all your getting. Here comes week four in bed.
How about pure exhaustion when you stand up to do anything like grab a glass of water you feel like your guts are gonna fall out of your ass and your heart is gonna jump right out of your chest if you don't lay down in the next 30 seconds.

@@backwoodsjunkie08 I've never been thru sub detox but a little while back my Dr. at the methadone clinic administered Suboxone to early meaning I still had way to much methadone in my system. Talk about being absolutely tortured alive with in 30 minutes I was back in the Drs office laying on the floor in the fetal position crying m I was just a fever sweating frozen popsicle mess I'm sure you heard of RLS but this was from head to toe she put a blanket over me cause I was shaking so bad.so I get home and lay down still feeling like I wanna die begging for death then the mental timeloop started in my head and I could not stop it for the life of me no matter how hard I tried. So a few days go bye the Suboxone finally was out of my system but I was still going through methadone withdrawal and I ended in the hospital for 5 days with pancreatitis it was an absolute nightmare..Anyways a long story short please if you do get on subs you have make sure you don't have any opiate in your system.
I'm literally doing my methadone withdrawl now a tapered off from 40ml down to 3 ml and quit all together. I'm prescribed ropinirole 2mg tablets. They r used for parkinsons diesese to stop shaking. I have them for restless leg syndrome and they are working for now. I have heavy legs and even going to the toilet is a chore. The 1 thing u need through all this is your own determination. You will get people who will say it's bullshit they ain't off the methadone. Use that to push yourself on. Good luck to anyone out their trying to quit. IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU ...

me and my wife have been on methodone for years me 20 her 17 we went to a clinic and had some words with one of the co workers there she checked your number in when you arrived in the morning and the next day the kicked us both out I was on 130mg and she was on 95mg our withdrawals was so bad we both had thoughts of suicide...my wife told me she felt so bad that she then knew what people was feeling and thinking before they commit suicide which is the worst hopeless feeling like no matter what there is no light at the end of the tunnel especially for anybody going threw long term methodone withdrawals....it's bad when you go threw withdrawals so bad that the only way out from it in your mind is suicide it made death seem easy....it is truly horrible and we still fight it today I wish we would of had somebody to tell us to stay away from methodone and the horrors of coming off of it..... methodone shouldn't be took longer than 6 months then start to detox down off of it the clinics don't tell you this they tell you to go up there is no warning of long-term effects!!! please 🙏 if you are fighting withdrawals don't get on methodone for years because it's truly worst than any other opiate withdrawal there's nothing worse and it last for months an sometimes a couple years....the only few people we have seen beat methodone was delivered from it threw the blood of Christ!!! If you know someone you love or you going threw it yourself and you feel hopeless I suggest turning to the Lord and his disciples because threw faith and prayer Jesus Christ will take this disease off of you and nail it to the cross!!.... we still have withdrawal symptoms but it's nothing like it was the 1st 3 to 5 months so no matter what threw religion or not DONT GIVE UP!!!

@@jmr6117 yeah that whole no sleep thing kinda drives you insaine after a week. Methadone is the worst. Dr's don't give a shit, my worst fear is getting sick and buying something that will kill me. Right now I'm ok, but when your sick all you want is to feel better at any cost. This sucks.
Clinics legally have to dose you out they can't just kick you out. I'm a current patient at one and if you act like a 🍆 they will lower your dose I think it's 5mg a day until you hit 0. The absolute only way they will detox you faster is if you missed 3+ days in a row, resulting in a decrease in tolerance, so they then HAVE TO give you a lesser dose than normal.
And I'm currently dosing down. Was at 120mg and am now currently at 12mg, dropping 2mg a week And I've never felt better. Was on it for 2 years b4 I started coming down bc you need time to get stable and allow your brain to heal from all the damage the short acting opiates caused. It's absolutely critical not to take even 1 single vicodin or any other opiates with your methadone or else you already phukked yourself and are going to make your tolerance go sky high, making dosing down feel like hell. Your body gets used to going down to the point you begin to crave going down. As weird as it sounds. At least that's how it feels when you do it as per the clinic's advice. Idk about all the blood of Jesus crap.

Gabapentin helps immensely for withdrawals from insomnia to restless legs

I want to thank you for the info. I am 6 weeks into weening from 25 mg, after 4 years of maintenance. Reducing 2 mg every 2 weeks. It is as you say. A little bit miserable.

If you stopped 120mg of methadone cold turkey you would be in SEVERE withdrawals for at least 3-4 months for 100% guaranteed. ESPECIALLY if you were on it for longer than 6months.
The withdrawals wont even hit their most intense until like week 2 or 3 lmao.

John Bobswoth, let me tell you this. If you know NOTHING about experiencing something, i suggest maybe NOT giving advise people about it. I had SO MANY counselors like you who knew NOTHING about addiction and withdrawls, save what they learned from a few classes in community college. Last year I had a little girl, 19 years old, running my program and trying to advise me on addiction that she has zero experience with whatsoever. Same thing goes with my current councilor. This man has never been an addict. I wish there were some better resources for councelors for addicts. My best councelor was an addict for 15 years and she been put THROUGH THE WRINGER. Her advice help[ed me more than anyone. These mehtadone clinics just look at us as a paycheck and it doesnt seem like they really care about getting us off the stuff...
The clinic i went to they couldnt keep counselors,i would get a new one at least 2 to 3 times a year

Today is day 16 of cold turkey methadone withdrawal off 100mg, along with alcohol and benzos. The first ten days were in jail. I'm on day 16 now. Can anyone tell me when some of this will start to lift?
Methadone whitdraws last for months up to a years ..You get cold turkey in a high dose ( Big mistake) all i can tell You ,if You are really clean for 16 days ,get the vivitrol shot ,that Will help You ,whit the cravings plus if You try to get high ,vivitrol Will block anything You use ..make your homework about vivitrol first and then make a descion on it ok..btw , don't use any opioids now cus You Will prolong the whitdraws ok...i use methadone for 19 years SO i know what i Say ok... good luck to You.
@@jesusmalave3340 Thank you for your response. Believe me, it wasn't my decision to stop suddenly, lol. I was at the clinic for about two years, on and off some. Ive still been mostly in bed with severe nausea/vomiting, high blood pressure and body aches. When did you get functional again?

Women seem to fair better at kicking opiates than men, thats what ive seen. They’re Likely better at dealing with sustained duration of pain and discomfort than us men…its brutal kicking opiates, specifically methadone.

My first sign of withdrawal were restless leg syndrome and hot and cold flashing.
140 mg a day but going on day number 3 without and I’m severely sick rite now I’ve been addicted to everything once pain a time nothing compares to my symptoms rite now
They let you go up so far and then it's a down process coming off. Took 2.5 years for me at a steady 120. Off a month and I'm just getting energy back.
Im on 4mg and when i stopped, symptoms is cold, feverish, moaning, watery eyes and running nose,tiredness, demotivated, hard to sleep, hard to eat. But its less worse than H imo.

You just detox to a low dose, you ain't get cold turkey in a high dose,lucky for You ,You ain't have to get cold turkey in a high dose,like 40 mg or more cus your story Will be different,You don't want to feel whitdraws a least for a year , methadone and subuxone are the worst drugs to detox,i use subuxone for 2 years and methadone for the last 19 years and i try to detox a hundred times ,now i get to 13 mg cus i am going real slow and still feel the whitdraws. Btw it's depend for how long You use the methadone and what high in the dose You was.

It's been over 2 years since I've done methadone the anxiety is still unbearable until I take a little kratom I just discovered Kratom a year ago I wish I would have discovered it when I first started withdrawal I couldn't sleep for 7 days and then I slept for 10-15 minutes at a time for 7 days after that then a little bit more every day or night I really didn't know if it was day or night I just laid in bed and wiggled my legs around or should I say thrashed my legs around

Iv just detox off 60ml with really hardly eny withdrawal at all and I slept every night iv bin addicted to heroin and opits for well over 32 years I used backlofen trust me it really works and I didn't keep twitching all the time and I slept every night

@@jmr6117 hi I'm now nearly 5weeks clean after 32years on opits I feal like iv just come out of a coma it's so weird that's literally how it feels I was doing 10ml drop everyweek I got down to 5ml then I stopped took a few days for my energy to come back but I feal grate now I have no withdrawals at all pluss as I took backlofen to detox with I managed to sleep every night all night aswell and I never had restless leg syndrome iv bin on opits for well over 32years and I must of Doune 100s of detoxis over the years and my way was the easiest way iv ever Doune it yes I was ill but nothing no body couldn't handle I think because I could sleep it made it much easier for me iv Doune detoxis in the past were iv bin awake for nearly 3weeks at a time but the worst part about how I didn't it was the lack of energy part but like I said as I used backlofen it took a lot of the annoying twitching and angsyerty out of it for me iv probably Doune every typ of detoxis out thir and my way really works I'm now nearly 5weeks clean and I feal amazing iv bin puting this out all over RUclips I really hope a Dr will see this and it will atleast help one person because opit withdrawals are no jocke all the best jmr thank you for your reply

I’ve been clean from heroin going on five years, was on a methadone program 110mls I’ve been reducing gradually I’ve now detox of the last 5ml 4days in I feel horrible I take my hat off to people detoxing of double digits
Most of the People who get cold turkey in a high dose relapse cuz its hell ' i was in methadone for 19 years and one month ago i say no more and ain't sleep one hour yet and the RSL and diarrhea its killing me.

Im on methadone treatment, because when heroin didn't work, methadone did. I am fuckin stuck on it now. Reduced from 150mg to 75mg after 5 years and i feel the effects of lowering the dose, each time!!!!!! If i don't have it for say, 3days,max,not only will i get kicked off the programme, in my country but I feel like I am dieing. Try adding heroin + fent, then having no dose for 3 days. YOUR BODY LITERALLY THINKS ITS DIEING AND YOU ACTUALLY START TO
Do it very gradually. Taper your dose down really, really slowly. Give yourself time.
It's especially important to slow down the reduction even more when you get below 30mgs
I went down from 60mg down to 15mg in 6months
Then one day I said I'm not going back and slept and layed on couch for 10 days 8 of which I slept! Got some advil and Klonopines and fought the good fight! Finally no more devil juice
And I wasn't a believer I'd ever be free!

If ypur still having withdrawal symptoms then your dose isn't high enough. It does take a very long time to stabilize. I was sick for a very long time before I stabilized.
Are you taking any other opioids?

My psychiatrist retired since he could no longer prescribe without the governments approval . For the most part those who must have the chemical must be attached to a clinic, which is to essentially loose your freedom. The CDC has published guidelines which is worth a good read or two IMO. I chose after taking the meds for pain, 70mg to stop after a short…much to short tapering. My advice is if you must…find a program. If you desire to stop…find a hospital. I suffered for days which became weeks and ultimately months. Brain chemistry is nothing to take lightly. I f I had to do it again I would find a hospital program but I would rather see he’ll freeze over. Don’t start and if you are currently using get off before the government forces you. Good luck.

I went to a so called rehab in Roswell NM they put me in a room the doctor came in they didn't prescribe medication he said if you feel any discomfort call me and I'll prescribe medication but I really don't like to give anything that is not over the counter so I walked out of there detox My ass I could kick at home for that matter used to the kept you asleep for 3to 5 days no otc crap
I was on pain meds for 7yrs, and on methadone for the last 3yrs, I was shot 4x in 2012, I was shot in my stomach and it fukd me up for life. 3 days ago I woke up like " I'm done taking this crap" I've went 3 days with none and zero wothdraw symptoms, so far.. it's mind over matter. Also, I take 94mg of methadone a day, and stopped cod turkey . I'm a little cold, that's about it...

2 weeks ago?? You’re most definitely dying for sure now, if you didn’t at the end of that very 1st week… 94 mg is considered a high dosage.
I’m currently at 69 mg, tapered down from my highest dosage of 80 mg. I’m having some trouble eating and sleeping, with some unstable mood management, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’m absolutely at my wits end.
Yea I didn't last long lol. I tried my hardest but I had to start taking it again. I was able to go 8 days b4 it was too unbearable.
