- Justin was a career military guy and was a mechanic so he knows a thing or two about building things. He bought what he thought was a clean ready to go '66 Nova but soon discovered it looked good but had issues so he ended up doing a full rebuild to the suspension, transmission and engine including adding that big beautiful blower sticking out of the hood so sit back and enjoy the ride...

I love these type of cars. Real people, just trying to get by, but have fun too. No millionaire unlimited budget. Not over the top. Love this guy and his car! Military legit to boot! This is American hot rodding at its best. No victims. Just heroes. Excellent video Sir!
Nailed it. 💯 agree
I guess people's idea of "just trying to get by" has changed alot lol. He bought a money pit from a shitty Ebay consignment dealer. It's a beautiful car now but that's not a "budget" build lol.
Same here, seeing cars that are so expensive and unattainable for 99% of people just gets depressing. They're awesome but damn.
Agreed.
This channel is beyond underrated, I can’t wait for you all to blow up!
Way cooler if I did🤣🤣
Thank you and we’re trying daily. Share away for us!
Yeah 100%.... it is THE answer and modern day equivalent to magazine features... how every car guy isn't subscribed I don't know!?
I do also prefer these stories over 1 million dollar cars. Keeps the hope in my project
Shawn, driving on the left side for all of your British fans, What about your Aussie fans? 😁 🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸
Your efforts and modesty are reflected in every video. Congratulations.
That is one clean build.
It sure is
Beautiful car! Really liking the normal builds. I can appreciate the 6 figure builds. But the garage build diy stuff gets my respect. Thanks!
I know what you mean and we love showing all sides of the custom world
Thing is by the time he bought the car from a consignment dealer and then turned it into a money pit sorting it out he probably has 6 figures in it lol or close to it.
love the sound of a small block under pressure.
The PERFECT example of why I have ALWAYS refused to buy someone else's "hotrod". $60,000 turns into $150,000 the minute you get it home...
The big mistake he made was not going to look at the car and drive it. A a $300.00 airplane ticket would have told him the whole story about that car and he should have bought it for about half of what he paid. Whether it's a used car dealer back east or a Craigslist listing in Florida, a classic car for sale is never going to be what it's advertised as.
@@georgespalding7640 Not "never' but usually not... I can't imagine buying from a crappy Ebay consignment dealer though sight unseen. Hard to feel bad for people who do that and then end up with a money pit. One thing you are guaranteed though is to overpay from a "classic car dealer."
@@sidefx996place on yt in Tenn that sells the worst overpriced stuff Ive ever seen .Lots is downright unsafe
Very nice stance.....friend of mine raced a '67 back in the middle '70s with LT1 Chevy motor, M22, Ford 9 inch, etc. Absolutely beautiful car...love the white paint....super clean. Very reasonable on the boost.
Justins a good dude, helped me a bit a couple nights. Really clean car and enjoyable. He’s always getting out in it!
As far as Nova’s and Chevelle’s go, 1966 and 1967’s are my favorite. Beautiful car!
Thanks
Same for me
I love all Novas up to 1972.
She a beauty, right wheels and stance, awesome job 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
I know it sounds kinda lame & not very descriptive, but all I can say is; that thing is built so well!
I get it and it is. Drives great and looks really nice
Great build, more realistic to the average joe that builds his or her hot rod in the garage at home. Thank you for your service.
I see a 66/67 Nova I click. Sick ride!
Love this body style, glad he did not over-do the interior
1 of my favorite car shows
Thank you 👊
Very nice! When I was 16 years old in '86 my first car was a '66 hardtop Nova. Sweet ride!
66-67 are my fav Nova’s
Shawn out of all the car channels I watch, your is the best. Thanks
Straight up so cal cars and so cal dudes…🤙🏻
I'm running a Tci front clip with their 3 link on my 67 Camaro. Great setup! love the Show!
We have seen more powerful and faster cars here but this Nova goes straight into our heart.
Well done AutotopiaLA, this ride makes me feel I could afford it. This vid was cool
Thank you. He did a great job with this one
A lot of people would have just started Whining about the Seller and made the subject of the article about getting Ripped Off over buying a Car on the Internet but this Guy just put his head down, bit the Bullet and built the Car of his Dreams. What I like most about it is he stayed "Old School" with an Older Style Small Block, Old Style Blower and Incidentals. No LS and No Computerized "million geared" Transmission with Paddles and stuff. Instead He kept it True to it's Roots and very "Industrial". Just the thing a real Mechanic would build....Bravo!
I like how he mentioned that the Exhaust System is serving Double-Duty as "Brooms" too. Keeping the Shop clean...lol.
Nice Camera work too!
Love the coverage. 👍
Good to see the owner builders and all the trials and tribulations. Usually always something going on, it’s not easy! Thanks for this
Great build. Thank you for your service!!! Good Sir!
These are always my favorite type of builds…practical, realistic horsepower, drivers!!! I love it 💪🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Such a great edit! These keep getting better and better.
Reminds me of my 66 20 years ago. Blown small block (434ci) and white…now it has a n/a 15.5:1 525ci bbc. And is black. I have a white 67 with a 406 small block too, had to Get the feeling of the old days😂
I love watching the juvenile deliquent channel.
lol! Having fun with us
Instead of giving up when he realized he got passed a turd he dug in and went after his goal.
Good stuff!! Lots of us have been there, glad he stuck with it and is enjoying it.
Bugs me he had to earn that money the hard way only to spend it all again, thats why proper cars are so expensive nothing comes out perfect the first time
Thank You 🫡
This is where it's at🙌
This is what we need to see real car by real people from a UK fan
I wish I had bought that 62 Nova from that guy in 1996 the day before the flood destroyed it! Nova's are dope.
Bad ass car !! And your videos are absolutely stunning !!! Cinema quality shots and editing.. awesome job Sean n Crew..
Thanks bud means a lot 👍👍🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks William. Really proud of the team and we’re going deeper in some of the next episodes
I'm in the middle of a 66 nova build. White always looks good. Nice ride.
Thank You
DuPont base white or 2nd choice GM Summit white will look perfect have depth and the wet look.
When freedom allows people to create incredible things, to express their creativity. Superb work, which keeps the tradition alive. High class.
God bless the aftermarket!!!!
As always, great content. I absolutely love the fact that you highlight builds across all budget ranges. Keep doing what you're doing!
Great channel! Looking forward to the next episode.
Nice nova 👍👍👍
It’s a mustang but novas are cool lol
Yeah man. Clean ride he’s got
Really cool Nova Sean thanks again ok bud later 🤘😁👍
Glad you enjoyed it Todd! Thanks for watching man
I love Novas even though 65 ones are 😮my favorite. This one is clean and nice and well built. Thanks for sharing Shaun
Applause for the first class on the vendor support.....always good to hear...
I love love LOVE whatchur doin to the channel Shawn ! ! Eye catching video changes my dude, 100% !
Thanks for the comment and I’m glad to hear it’s noticeable. The team is really crushing our videos
Perfect!! I love it. I wouldn’t change a thing
Looks like a fun enjoyable project!
Nice Clean 66 right there!! Much respect
Nice looking ride and great job with it! I've looked at Gateway Classic Cars listings too...just dreaming. lol
They always have some nice rides and Justin did a great job with this one
@@AutotopiaLA He sure did!
Very nice car. I used to have a '70 SS 350 (a real one that I sold in '87) but always preferred the 66/67's which just look fast and like a 9-second car with that body style. If I built one today the 66/67 Nova is what I'd choose with this same type of approach. Something that isn't overbuilt and won't break the bank and a streetable nice ride with plenty of horsepower. The 66's were are only about 2600 lbs so it doesn't require a lot.
X pipes bring the tone up, H pipes bring the tone down, a lot of folks just want to talk numbers but on a street rod but that tone means more then a couple high RPM horsepower.
You have the best job in the valley! I had a 66 once…. 😊
Beautiful car. One of my favorite body styles too!
Thanks team Sean. Great car.
Very well sorted build
What a cozy episode 😎 thank you😍
Not a knock on the owner, but his story is a prime example of why you do a PPI on any car you buy, especially of vintage era. Cool ride!
Another badd ass build with a great story as usual thanks Shaun 😊 🙏 keep this content coming how about a shoot with Bill hoskinson ole man's garage from Ohio? Real people real builds rule 💯 👌
I truly like the work done on this car......well thought out and finished.....I hope to see more like this .....great shoot
Really clean 66 Nova hot rod cruiser sorted Hit the road and enjoy the ride ❤😁🫡👍👍🤙
2 inches lower, deeper rear offset and mini tub, and nix the blower for Fuel tech EFI and make it a pro touring machine. If it was mine if course. Killer car man.😊 Thank you for your service brother. God Bless.
Nice build
Love the channel brother! You pick some of the best cars out there. Another beauty that I’m in love with. What a spectacular vehicle!
Justin did that Nova right! 😮💨👌🏼
Love the more realistic builds like this.
Another simple build, I luv seeing . I luv seeing the old school supercharger. Now to make it a little driver friendly, dual throttle bodies. My opinion. Great video
Seemed to start and run pretty well with the carbs
@@gordocarbo They need tuned really bad. That thing blows black smoke anytime he gets on it.
Great looking nova.
Nice car
Love that kind of mindset with cars. Nothing insane. Enough power to have fun. Just something to cruise around in. 1000hp is becoming the norm with clicks and I just want something with like 300-500 horses and daily every once in awhile.
Yo!!!! Very nicely done package! That's a perfect example of a well sorted an Ice Cream cruise weekend kinda car. It's like everything is meant it give an honest smile without making your butthole too tight.
You got it exactly. Nice driver car
Love this ride!🤙🏻
Just perfect! Thanks
Favourite car channel on YT
Such a cool car. LOVE IT!!!!
Sweet ride
What a sweet Nova!
My plan for this year is visit US especially LA and yours Garage. This Nova is great, clean build. Great episode as always. Greetings
Thats a nice build!
nice car. Thank you for your service
So sick!
Gateway will do that to you. I’m glad he was able to do his on build
So many pics are touched up, bs stories from salespeople its impossible to trust anyone.
Lots are consigned or sold on ebay cause anyone that saw them up close would run away.
ill just pretend like i didn't see a FREAKING RED F5 in the back plotting something...
Great stuff
What a beauty.
Thank you
Awesome car
My dream car!
Very nice!
sweet ride.
So clean 👌
Tuning in from Buffalo, New York.
Definitely a cool looking '66 Chevy Nova.
It’s a mustang lol but I dig novas too lol
It is. Clean and a total driver
I agree.
Awesome!!!! Sounds like it needs some 4:11 gears in the rear.
Perfect!
very nice car 👍👍
500 hp at the wheels is plenty fun it's streetable reliable and a daily driver if needed.
I like the older square Novas, esp the survivor novas roadster shop does, did you do a video with one of those?
It’s a mustang
Haven’t done a survivor yet…but hopefully soon
Badass car and badass channel man!
Thanks and definitely a cool one
For me, a great car. No blower, no skinny wheels in the front, and a different color.but damn nice
She is one badass ride I love these cars
Hell yeah shawn.......... Totally cool......... Greetings from india🇮🇳🤠🤠🤩🤩🤘🏻🙌
