I am not sure about other shoe brands, but some websites suggest you order .5-1 full size larger then normal for New Balance.
I ordered my normal size and they came true to size... as for those shoes it might be the wrong label on the wrong size or a change in versions year-to-year.. who knows?

I just bought a pair today and they fit weird. I always try them when I get home. The back part seems to have a huge gap left in between my heel and the shoe. A half size smaller will barely even fit. Idk. It's hard with sneakers...

I've been buying nb for nearly 20 years now and this has only happened to me once. It's a real problem though if you switch styles of shoes from say running to hiking. They've tended to be right as long as I only buy hikers, but when I switched to running they were definitely thinner and shorter

My 608v5 shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have worn. I work 12 hour work days, with only lunch breaks to rest. I easily walk 11-12 miles each shift. The only shoes of all of my shoes that don't cause me foot, back, knee and hip pain. I'd buy them again. Mine fit just perfectly, normal size.

The last two pairs of 608 I bought from Amazon have run large and sloppy... laces are way too long and I have to double knot and are not holding up like the ones I have bought at the mall... like they say all good things come to an end...

Last year I bought identical pairs of NB shoes off Amazon, 510v4 size 13's, one was much narrower than the other. The sole on one pair wore out in less than four hundred miles, had to repair with shoe goo. The other pair also wore quickly, repaired and managed to make just over a thousand miles total. The innards wore very quickly too. Slippery shoe laces never would stay tied, replaced those. Very disappointed with NB. have been wearing NB for about seventeen years and my older shoes always lasted 1500 miles before falling apart. Local stores never seem to have 13's in stock to try on. If all the shoe companies are importing now I fear Americans will be a barefoot nation before long.

So conflicted because I really liked the New Balance Classic 574, but I just don’t know how they would wear on me for running purposes. When I tried them on, there was a weird sizing difference between the 6.5 and the 7. The 6.5 looked smaller and felt a little tighter, but when I tried the 7 on after it looked so strange and the mesh looked distended. Not sure what to do because I don’t want to spend $80 on quality that wont hold up!

This is more than “aggravating” for me. I have chronic pain, and NB is one of only two brands so far that relieves my pain (ASICS is the other). Well...not anymore. Because NB sizes are way too small, and the I step is way too tight, they cause me severe pain.
I’ve been a loyal NB customer for years, but not anymore. I can’t risk it. Their quality has gone so far downhill, I just can’t believe it. I’m shocked at how bad my last three pairs of NB sneakers were.

Yeah, New Balance sizing labels are all over the place. I only try them on locally. I usually wear an 11 in running shoes but I'd need an 11.5 or 12 in the New Balance 311. I suspect that's why so many of that model wound up in discounters like Ross and Marshalls stores.
Good shoes otherwise. But they're killing their reputation with mislabeled sizes. Some other NB shoes seem to be sized appropriately.
BTW, my Under Armour Hovr Sonics and some adidas shoes were also made in Vietnam. No problems with sizing or quality.

I’ve also seen on here a lot of comments about the shoes falling apart. Hopefully this might be helpful. If you are a heavy person you need to buy a certain type of new balance shoe made for your weight. If you buy running shoes they are not made for somebody who’s 200+ pounds they will fall apart. Do little bit of research and you’ll be able to find a shoe capable of holding extra way. FYI you don’t my car tires for a truck.

New Balance has over 20+ lasts they use to make shoes, every shoe is made differently every shoe fits differently you also need to understand that your feet do change over time, And we at New Balance recommend to replace your shoes every 4-6 months with everyday ware.

I only own one pair of New balance sneakers I haven't really had this issue I think they run a little more narrow than short for me like they fit lengthwise just the width wasn't what they claimed. Now they have that try before you buy where you could you know order certain shoes and sneakers and drive them on for 7 to 10 days and if you don't dig them you send them back no charge and they don't charge you until the trial periods over. I've done it three or four times now and I've kept a pair I've sent a pair back and I'm waiting for a new pair. I'm not a huge Amazon fan but I am a fan of that program. It's not available on every shoe and every style but it's got a good number of shoes available in the try it before you buy it

  • @BlindGuy-vs5rc

I hope this is helpful for you. The way I understand it how new balance does their model numbers. Let’s take like a 520 model number new balance shoe. Every year they slightly reduce redesign the shoes and introduced new colors and some years they re-designed them even more. They will start with a V1 series then the following year V2 following year V3 and so on. This year I am purchasing another pair of the 520 series shoes and they will be a V7 series. And they are slightly different. So even though you’re getting the same model number you need to make sure it’s the same series. If they are not you’ll need to try them on first.

New Balance, like every major manufacturer, produces shoes at multiple facilities. The really big brands, like Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and yes, New Balance, produce different quality levels of shoes so that they can blanket the market at many price levels. There is no one brand that always gets it right, so you should "play the field" when it comes to running shoes, instead of relying on one brand. Also, customer reviews on the manufacturer's website as well as 3rd party professional reviews will often mention whether a shoe runs large, small or true to size-so get all the info you can before buying online. Lastly, the 870 and 880 model shoes in your video are much higher quality/performance level than the 510's (the fact that the number starts with 5, as opposed to 8, actually means something-look it up) which are meant to be inexpensive, "department store sneakers."

I bought 2 pairs of Black NB S. basically a 2 for 1 deal at Pauls Wherehouse in Sydney. The first day of wearing the soles almost completely detached. They started opening around the edges and then the back and front sole started to peel off. I'm serious the first day. I'm walking in the city and my shoes are literally falling apart. I went to look at the other pair to see if the same problem was going to happen. I nudged the sole to see if it was stitched or glued properly and sure enough it wasn't. I just tried to contact NB head quarters and they are trying to pass the buck.

You are being very unfair to Newbalance. How are they supposed to post growth & increase profits if they spend money on quality control?

I dont like the new balance Shoes nowadays, because of that “FRESH FOAM” technology. These cushioning is too stiff and firm for my feet unlike their non- fresh foam version of 1080.
My last new balance shoe is that 1080 fresh foam v1.
And I do not like it.

So...buy a size up? I mean, shoe brands all have different sizing, and even within the same brand, different styles run small or large, depending on the material, purpose and design.
I don't get the point of this video. You want all your shoes to always be the same size and fit, regardless of how everything else about the shoe changes? How about you address the idea that you're being lazy and buying on an assumption, instead of doing you're homework, going out and trying a shoe on. It's not that hard, and you're not THAT busy, despite your inflated level of self-importance. PLUS...you can always return them via mail.
At the end of the day, to answer your question, yes, maybe you should buy a 15 instead of a 14 in that style...what's the big deal? Is that really so hard? Everything else comes with changes and adjustments, but because the shoe you want now runs small, someone shouldn't buy New Balances anymore? Geez.

They're "New Balance"...cheap. Back in the day, they were called "bobos" and "the poor man's Nike" because they WERE...and still are, in my view. Asics are better quality, but they'll always be girl's shoes to me, (like reebok).
Nike, Adidas or Converse...that's about it.

Buying directly from Amazon (where “Amazon” is listed the seller) is no guarantee you won’t get a counterfeit. It’s kind of an outrage.
