      So going way back to '70 or '71 or so, I remember a skinny kid named Lenny White. I must confess I've since strayed from fusion somewhat to explore the many other genres of jazz & it's extensions. Here, I can only see long shots, profiles and 1 full facial of the drummer, approx. 8 minutes in. Can anyone tell me definitively is it a heavier Lenny on my little phone screen or is it Steve Gadd, whom I've heard more than studied photos of. I'd also appreciate more info on this very good guitarist. Would like to hear more of him. Di Meola was extraordinary. RIP Armando Anthony Corea. RTF forever!

    Wow! Very nice. I bought the album when it came out in 1976. I also had the first album with the brown jacket named "Stanley Clarke" and it had "Lopsy Lu" and I had the "Journey to Love" album. I've been enjoying his music and Chick Corea for decades. Even met him once across the table from me at a gig for Larry Coryell's 11th House album release at NY's Bottom Line just across from NYU @W.4th St & Broadway. A small venue that had a great club feel to it. I'm glad this video popped up in my video suggestions. RIP Maestro Chick. Thanks for posting.

    One of the few pieces where the bass is the reason for the song. Or something like that. You know what I mean. I used to go to every concert Clarke, Ponty and Corea did in the late 70s, in Los Angeles. Even in small venues like the Roxy. Hmmm. This version is the best I've ever heard. That violin really adds so much. Having two unusual rock instruments improvising against each other (bass and violin) is really quite unique. Whoa, this thing really gets going. Fantastic. I can only wonder how these guys get on each other's nerves sometimes (it happens with all humans). "Oh, there Chick goes with his whole tone scale thing..."

    Absolutely love Stanley and the gang. Stanley never seems to solo all over the neck on electric bass like he does on upright. He usually solos in one or two positions every time he plays School Days live. Anyone else notice that?

      @stringplayer999 8 лет назад +1

      +milestoneman Yeah, I'm the same way though. I think you have to shift more on upright and because its so important you end up getting better at it. I don't think about it a lot on electric. I'm not on stanleys level though haha
