I saw Fran in Boston play a solo show on my birthday in this tiny club called Cafe 939, Red Room and it was AMAZING. He played his solo album and did only a few Travis songs and it made me NEED to see them live someday. Haven't yet but on the email list and get Dougie's updates! Come to Boston! We love you!

I don't mean to boast but I was in my teens in the late '90s. I was 14 in '96, a brilliant year for music and it was the age that I was really getting into music, really finding my 'sound'. Every decade has it's group. Maybe i'm just getting old but I truly don't see anything from the 2010s holding any value. I just feel like not many people are putting real emotions into their work often. This new world moves too fast, its too hard to keep a feeling for long. Not that we don't but it takes away from the scope of the feeling. Blunted so to speak. And there's no class or finesse. When people talk of feelings they don't go about doing it in a way anyone wants to hear about. Now I know im just that aging guy now but I feel like the 90s were a perfect storm. Smart enough to air out some humanity but not bombarded into an stupor and there was still some fun and mystery left to be had. Now we've crossed a threshold where new implements of things are getting cheaper and worse. Innovation is no longer aiming to innovate the experience but is now geared towards making things cheaper to produce and figuring out what corners can be cut. That is, the stuff for the average Joe anyway. Lord knows our mental health is suffering. It's as if the world is veiled and we're always trying to figure out if things are really worse or if it's just a phase in life. I feel like its both and its always getting worse. And I feel like we downplay it because we can use the excuse that it just comes with age. But lets be honest, that must mean its constantly getting worse for generation after generation to complain about each new implementation of the stuff that makes us.
