- Let's make the infamous Crochet Juliet Dress! it's actually a lot easier and faster than you think! :)
#crochet #vintagecrochet #howtocrochet
** Big thank you to taelican!! :) **
The size shown in the video is the small size, all other sizes are in the written pattern and require different stitch counts which is why I only show how to make just the 1 size as showing how to make all the different sizes would overwhelm me
1,588 yards of #4 worsted weight yarn,/ Aran are needed for the small ( all other amounts needed are in the pattern)
5.00mm hook
You really should only use acrylic as cotton will be too heavy when the dress is finished

** I don't take pattern requests, thanks so much for understanding! **

it’s not free ur a liar
Thank you. I graduated 1970 h.s. so many happy memories.
What’s the yarn size?
@@foodiscool1050 I would love to know the yarn weight as well hahaha, I can't find any mention of it in the comments except here. Have you found out?
@@petrac7778 Not yet, I just tried to go off of what it looked in the video. Didn’t work out so well, lol!
I've lived long enough that a dress that I could have crocheted at 17-18 is now "Vintage crochet" It's even a fashion I'd have loved back then! Always loved that style. Very feminine.
Wow!! I made this many years ago and gave it to my sister as a Christmas present.
I wanna be ur sister
How cool. I love this comment! For some reason it made my soul happy.
I made this too back in 2010 and gave it to a friend. She still wears it today!
What color did you choose❣
@@hammertime9989 , same question, lol! What color did you choose❣
Hello, Hello, helloooooooo
I can’t believe how lucky I am!
Just yesterday I decided without a doubt going to crochet my July wedding dress.
It’s going to be a beach wedding, and this pattern couldn’t be more perfect❤️
Your new friend from Canada 😊
oh! yay!! , its just a bit short, so if you need to add a bit of length , just add a few extra rows of the 6dc shell rosa before the last 2 rows the skirt part , you have to email me a pic :)
Hi from a fellow Canadian. Just wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming nuptials ❤
Im sure it would be beautiful! Great idea.
Congratulations!!! Sending lots of blessings and prayers for a wonderful wedding and marriage your way from Ohio!!
wow hope it goes well! ❤
Some vintage patterns seem to need trickery to look good in pictures: pinning together in the back, forcing the edges not to curl when they absolutely would curl, sizing down so something looks fitted but it’s really just stretched. I was looking forward to learning if this is one of them, and I’m delighted to know that the picture was actually honest in this case! I love it.
thank you! :)
@@justvintagecrochet I am an absolute sucker for a good Drama Sleeve. This dress might need to go to the top of the queue!
@Jenny Paxton I just finished- totally totally worth it. Only the shoulders gave me trouble and it's the flip of the sleeve chain thing that got me. Other than that it was easy peasy. Can't wait to redo in a lighter yarn! ❤
@@KerriEverlasting do you know how much yarn it took to complete?
@@smelly4498 it says 1,588 yards in the description
I’ve seen pictures of this dress for years and finally. Finally! Someone’s making a video on it. Thankyou!!!
Thank you :)
This dress is amazing! I grew up in the 6o's and 70's but I don't recall anyone wear a crochet dressed this beautiful. There were a lot of strange, unusual and beautiful clothes in all sorts of styles i may not have paid attention to. There were a lot of just about any lenght skirts and dresses and stumbling thru young child and teenage years was as difficult then as it most likely now. I do remember the clothes I loved and it's possible that many people made have made one and wore it, but most crocheted things I remember were mostly granny squared, and other pattern blankets and I actually made quite a few myself. Another thing popular were shawls. I going to my prom wearing a shawl someone lent me. They went from beautiful lacy patterns to thicker warmer shawls ob and a lot of crocheted bikinis made a worn to beaches.
What a find! So 60’s! I am in love!
Thank you!
This dress is adorable! You did a great job. Thanks for showing us.
I absolutely love that you upload these vintage patterns! I'm excited to try and tackle this one... Beautiful!!!!
You are awesome! It’s been a thrill to find your channel. I’m really interested by old patterns and spend a lot of time reading on antique pattern library. it’s a lot of fun watching you work through different eras of patterns. Thank you for the inspiration
Love using the stacked single crochet. Makes everything look so much better.
Thank you so much for your your video on on the Juliet crochet dress. I'm making it now and so far it is coming out lovely. Thank you so much the vintage patterns coming.
I love this dress...it's gorgeous & I like how you made the belt/sash!!🤗😍
Just finished this dress, it turned out so cute! Thanks for sharing!
It turned out beautiful. I love it. Thank you for sharing x
Made this with Red Heart super saver in white 2 skeins worth. May have taken a few rows out of the skirt and sleeves. Added tassels to the belt cord. It's adorable 😍! Thanks for sharing this with everyone!

Haven't watched the video yet but I know this is the first video that I'll crochet along to. This dress looks Beautiful! Looks like I need to get my yarn together
I’ve always seen this pattern on Pinterest and on Etsy but never saw anyone actually make it. This turned out so beautiful. I absolutely love this! 👏🏽🌹
i’ve neverrrr crocheted before but i was so obsessed with this dress (thanks pinterest) and i just had to make it. i got the pattern and was promptly lost so i’m soooo thrilled i found this! you are such a lifesaver! i’m finishing up the puff at the top of the left sleeve rn and it’s so funnnn
LOL! I was writing the details and JUST figured it out! Thanks and keep it up!
I bought this pattern on etsy a year ago but haven't gotten around to making it yet. I LOVEEEE THISSSS!!!
I am DEFINITELY making this for my sister's hen-do! Her weddingdress is going to be very 70s, so this will be perfect. I'm so excited to start making this! Your videos also taught me one thing: as long as you know how to make a double crochet, you can make anything ~!
Pretty much! Lol
I AM SO GLAD YOUR CHANNEL EXISTS!! This is my style, why does this style not even exist anymore :(
So adorable. Thank you for sharing! I’m going to try and do this really soon. Love the last stitch for chest tie. I can give it to my 22 year old daughter. She will look great in it. It’s beautiful.
I am so happy to find you. I bought a pattern but it was rather confusing. I now can make it!! thank you so so much.
I love that you replaced that first chain 3 with a stacked single crochet. That is genius. Thank you for sharing that with us. Definitely adding that to my little play book. lol
thank you so much! :)
Oh my gosh, I love this! I think I'm gonna have to make it for my 2 grandaughters for Christmas. Then I will have to find a pretty slip. I just went through one of my dresser drawers & pulled out about a dozen slips. Some only a half a slip. They where so tiny. It doesn't seem like that long ago they fit me. But maybe they will fit them. They are tiny also. Like Grammy used to be. 😅
I had this dress in 1970 - great memories
How Lucky!💫
I love your amazing work!! Thank you for all you do ❤❤
This turned out so beautifully 🙂
Ohhh thank you so much for your video! I bought the pattern and combined the 2 to help me achieve your beautiful dress thank you so much!
OMG!!!! My daughter will love this!!!
So pretty😍😍😍😍 I wish I could fit in it too, but I'd still make it for the challenge. Thank you for sharing this lovely vintage pattern. X
I absolutely love this dress and this pattern. I can't wait to try it out for myself unless I'm lucky enough to win it!
Wow! Thank you for posting. I purchased this pattern on Etsy and it was too complex of a read for me, can't wait to reference your video and try again!
Hiiiiiii I just downloaded the pattern. I am so happy and can't wait until I read all the pattern pictures, instructions and figuring out what color I want, my size and to watch your video.
This tutorial is so helpful, thank you. I fell in love and purchased this pattern awhile back, but was intimidated to dive in. No longer.😊
That came out fantastic. I know now what color I am doing.
Pretty. I love the sleeves especially
I'm left handed so I did things a little backwards, but it was still so easy to follow. Thank you so much for the fun project!
I actually have that exact green and cream as well. I'm making a rustic mosaic throw for my daughter. I love the combination.
This is stunning!
Super cute! Need to make this for summer❤
I'm so excited for this pattern
I'm from Brazil and I'm loving this crochet class and also this Juliet Dress pattern
OMG IM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS. I was just thinking earlier today that I want to start dressing in 60/70s style. This is sooo perfect!!
that's awesome!!
OH MYyyyy! This dress is gorgeous!
I believe I have the pattern for this. I never got around to making it, due to health reasons. But seeing this video sure stirred some memories of excitedly receiving the vintage patterns my father bought for me as a birthday present.
I absolutely love this channel! ❤ Tysm for saving / reviving historical patterns & sharing them with us! Your instructions are always so clear (especially how you use a needle to point out the exact stitch or leg of the stitch for even brand new crocheters to see exactly what you're talking about)! 🤗💕 Also, thnks for the tip on Mainstays yarn! I've never worked with it 🫣🤫🤭 but I will be checking it out next time I'm @Walmart!
😉😁👍🏻
Thank you so much for that ❤️
Love this! Your colors are gorgeous ❤definitely will make this! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
When I first looked it over, I thought it would be a big project, but it actually works up pretty fast :)
Wow you make red heart yarn look light and airy how what magic is this

Your nails look beautiful :) Thank you sooo much for sharing with us these vintage patterns. Youve made this woman very happy!!!

I will say Michael's loops and threads is also pretty soft it is really soft, I got it for a few plushie accessories I want to make
The green accent just makes the dress and finishes it beautifully, I love the cord: so ingenious. Lurinda

Absolutely freaking Amazing!!!!! I could never do this!!!! You do make it look easy though lol, I love everything about this dress, especially the sleeves....so 70's, just my style lol 😍😍
I really think you can do it :) , just take it one row at a time, you got this :)
Funny to come across this, I just finished the juliet dress a few days ago as a gift to a friend!
I actually made this dress and it turned out really cute and flattering! I used Peaches and Creme cotton yarn since it’s a summer dress, and I chose to make a bigger size to ensure it would stretch over the head properly. I had bought the pattern a while ago, but your video inspired me to keep going and not give up!!
Thanks for your comment, I’ve been wondering about making this dress in cotton. Are you pleased with your cotton choice? Have you had pilling from sitting? Thanks for any advice you can give me!💚
Hi Stacy. Yes, I think using cotton was a good idea because it's a summer dress, so it makes it more breathable. I think Peaches and Creme cotton is decent for making clothes (definitely not toys!). I have not had any pilling from sitting. The yarn will probably/might pill after a while, like a lot of yarns, but I cannot say how much because the dress I made is still pretty new, and I have only worn it a few times. However, unless you are planning on wearing it frequently, I wouldn't worry about that too much! Also, make a slightly bigger size! I actually bought the pattern from Etsy and I made a bigger size than what my measurements are, because 1. Cotton doesn't stretch! And 2. The foundation chain at the beginning of the project will limit how much the piece stretches. Let me know if you want to know anything else (-:@@stacyvolek3418
I did this dress added 2 rows to bottom was still short but love the challenge and wearing my new dress thank you ❤
I’ve always dreamed of having this dress. Totally making it
yay! awesome :)
got into crochet a couple years ago and i was never bold enough to actual figure out this pattern (or other vintage ones) from the pic alone, u are a god thanks
I think my granddaughter would love this dress!
My granddaughter came to visit me from out of state, I was able to measure her carefully. She loves the dress, wants it in all light blue, size small will be perfect for her. I purchased and downloaded the pattern! 😁
I just got a few new pairs of bell bottom jeans, and I think I may need to whip a few of these in a tunic length to wear with them! ✌❤🙂
That is really cute!
Hi I purchased this pattern from Etsy and didn’t have the confidence to start it . Thanks to your tutorial I am now excited about giving it ago thank you so much❤️
Wonderful!
Thank you for this video. Oh my, I love this one! I just bought the pattern so I can make myself one... or seven.
yay! awesome :)
0:32 Mainstays is a very good quality yarn. I have been using it for a while now. I love it because it's soft and doesn't get fuzzy and the brand has vibrant colors. It also blocks very well. I am planning on buying a steamer for blocking my finished crocheting projects too. I found one on clearance at Walmart. 😊
So beautiful ❤🎉thanks
