I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Bradley years ago. He was incredibly kind and gracious. Gave me his autograph and took a picture with me for nothing. I was quite intimidated until he opened his mouth and smiled. Great guy and iconic role.

Most celebrities are dumber than a box of rocks, unless someone writes them lines. Doug, is the kind of guy that could have been writer or director as well as actor. Really articulate and to the point. Quite impressed actually.

Oh my. I LOVE Pinhead. He is one of the all time top 5 fantasy/horror characters. Scary as all get out, yet so seductive. And it was all because this man served the shit out of this character. Thank YOU Mr. Bradley!

I just re-watched the first three Hellraiser movies last week. Pinhead was sexy and evil and intriguing. An intelligent and alluring villain character, which made these movies stand apart from the “slasher” films. Brilliant.
Love your Black Swan appearance. One of my favorite movies.

Mr. Bradley reminds me a lot of Vincent Price and Christopher Lee with his demeanor and eloquence.
It is an absolute shame that he wasn't cast in more films.

Btw: Hellraiser was created by Clive Barker, who is (As far as I know) the only gay fantasy/ horror writer in popular culture. Hellraiser also features heavy sexual and BDSM / Fetish themes.

Had a fantastic time talking with Doug about British football, Pele, Diego Maradonna and Scotland. I had the opportunity of telling him that he was the greatest thing in the movie. ‘I’ll take that, mate!’ he retorted.
I always found the character of Pinhead was more tragic than evil, and it´s interesting that Doug Bradley says something similar about his feelings while beeing in the role. A bit like Hamlet maybe.Doug Bradleys Pinhead always has a kind of sadness in his face like someone who lost something but doesn´t know what it is. it could be love, maybe. and that leds to the erotic aspects of Pinhead. I don´t think it´s only the leather and metal thing. But this is just my opinion about that. But really inspiring anyway. great actor, he is.^^ :-)
I don't disagree, but I don't think it's a sympathetic tragedy. It's a loss of humanity tragedy. It's this primal, hunter shell of a person. He's tragic not because he's lost a loved one or a specific negative act happened to him. He's tragic because he's lost himself. That's the scary thing...the biggest pain you can experience is no pain at all.
He's essentially depression personified. Total numbness.

@@claudiaarevalo2904 I experienced all kinds of movies including this and more when I was young. I wouldn't change it for the world. I have built a higher tolerance for horror. But I remember feeling terror so pure and miss the feeling of art and how good art pulls at emotions... when you censor kids from life and art you do not prepare them for the downside that most likely will happen to anyone. You can't raise kids on purely butterflies and rainbows and then one day say their you go... and you saying you shouldn't have kids. Mf your kids will mostly amount to way less than theirs.

First time I saw him without make up I couldn't recognize him, since his voice and face both were different on screen. The first thing that came in my mind was that his kind faced man really portrayed such a menacing character like pinhead. Absolutely nailed him!

For the longest time I had trouble determining what Pinhead's outfit was as well. Turns out, it's actually a really hellish version of what's called a cassock.
To me the Cenobites always remind me if you were to combine three classic monsters together. Their grotesque/gory appearance is reflective of a zombie. The high vocabulary and physical posturing is like a vampire. The calm/composed nature is only seconds away from a dramatic explosion of hooks and violence like a werewolf.
Fascinating insights... been really getting into the first 3 films again, and that character has got right under my skin! So compelling...

I have just watched the latest 2022 hellraiser and it's not one I will watch again as there is only one pinhead and thats doug Bradley. I watch the originals every year and you can't beat them.
I really wish there were more movies like Hellraiser coming out this day and age, movies centered around people doing horrible shit then getting their just desserts from an even more terrifying force-with that brutal blood and gut-wrenching gore as icing on the cake!

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bradley 10 years ago. I’m still terrified of Pinhead and the Cenobites.
It took me until 32 to watch and get into the Hellraiser movies.
And, to think. I hesitated...

Same here, I was shocked when I finally saw it. Incredible movies, I don't even mind the funny ones after the first 3. As long as Doug Bradly is in it I consider it gold.

I find it interesting on how they choose someone to be the main guy for an iconic movie like HELL RAISER . Without putting makeup on every person that is trying out for the part. So I believe they have an eye for great structure that will work well with the character but I will say that PINHEAD is on the top of my favorite horror characters, he’s dark and Erie but also sexy and cool with his leather. Is it odd that I find him sexy though? 😂 but I do! Great movie and Doug Bradley did an amazing job
