Basically, all this needs is for LEGO to fabricate a bespoke lens part similar to a disposable lens, and matte black stickers for the inside of the lens area, and that would be it.
As an actual camera, it's pretty primitive in its function and image output, although I will say the images feel very dreamy, nostalgic and evocative-almost like slide film. Astonishing given that its lens literally has only one element. That said, I absolutely LOVE that this concept exists in a REAL, concrete artifactual form and, as a LEGO build, it's extremely impressive, inventive and ingenious. Great video!
Lego made a custom Fresnel lens for the lighthouse set (another ideas set). Totally possible that if picked up as a set, they would design a custom lens for the camera. So much potential!
it's IQ is like Pinhole...or even worse. Well, at least it does work - technically. IQ is another story. 🙂 Personally, i'd go with any cheap 35mm SLR and 35/2.8 or 50/1.7 up to F2 lens. That combo is worlds better from IQ, and depending onto the brand and your luck, can be as cheap as some 10-20 bucks, only as kit.

Love the way the pics on it look
🤩 So who is gonna do the world's first LEGO stop motion captured WITH LEGO?
I think lego could engineer a sturdier build if it became official ?
And it still sets you back for about $5K

Amazing! For Lego fans it's a wonderful toy. What's the name of the village where you were shooting?

That first shot from inside the church is actually quite beautiful, not just technically impressive for what it is. Fascinating stuff.
the actual motives and the photos are also really beautiful
This is SOOOOOOO crazy! Thanks for sharing!
Next up: How Mathieu replaced the built in lens with one he designed himself. :-)
Dude I've been following this, it's so rad. I can't believe it's real haha.
I’d love this and additional lenses, hope to see it be a thing!

Awful quality of photos similarly to the Game Boy camera but so much fun!

Nope, fan made.
It's past the 10,000 vote requirement for a lego ideas set to be reviewed officially and will probably go in to production
it is cool, but it is not the first ;-)

Much more boring than a camera literally made entirely out of lego
1000 times better than the non-working useless Lego camera you can buy 📸👍
