    If we lived on your side of the pond instead of the US we'd definitely be looking at narrow boat living! Thank you so much for sharing!

    another cracking video you are improving in leaps and bounds, it is so interesting watching your journey through narrow boat life as a leasure boat as opposed to full time, thanks for sharing it with us, looking forward to seeing the next episode, all the best 😀

    Let's see, nothing broke, nothing fell off and nothing got wet. Are you really on a boat? I do love your theme music it's so happy.

    Nice video as usual, if you want to give your paint a new lease of life, touch up where necessary and then give it a good coat of quality exterior varnish.

    I can see what you mean with not being that relaxing. That one shot of the 5 rise hill from a few videos back really put into perspective the hikes someone has to do at each lock. Try half the distance, double the time and wine for a more relaxing trip!
    Great video as always!

      Sounds like a plan! We've decided that this summer we will try and chill out a lot more, we better stock up on the beer and wine too!

    Last week without knowing it, we sat opposite your narrowboat in our car. We'd brought butties and coffee with a view to walking along the canal. It rained. We came home and saw one of your videos with the boat name on it.....Lightbulb moment lol. Boat looked great in real life, hope to see many more vids to come. I did put a comment on one of your vids but can't for the life of me find it......Ahh well. Cheers folks, keep up the good work.

      It's such a small world! Not a bad spot for sitting with a cuppa even if it is raining though :-) Hopefully the next time that you're down you'll get better weather for a walk.

    The point about never being able to relax is absolutely correct. We hire at the moment and it's interesting how you are always concerned about getting back. When you got stuck at the swing bridge on the L&L I thought if that had happened to us on the way back it's a £100 an hour penalty for every hour your late back! I love it but being retired and having our own boat will be fantastic. In the meantime working and hiring is fine for me. Mind you, I only have 5 weeks to do and then I'm FREE!

      Hi Sylvia, I imagine that being hirers it's even more frustrating! Especially with the penalties for late returns involved. 5 weeks! We can only dream :-)

    I know exactly what you mean about the "stress" of having to work to a schedule. We're looking forward to the day when if the weather is bad, we can decide not to bother to move the boat for a day or two :)

    • @ItsANarrowboatThing
      @ItsANarrowboatThing  7 лет назад

      That day can't come soon enough Ronnie! Nothing worse than waking up to pouring rain and knowing that you've got to move the boat.

    Love your videos! Your boat looks fabulous. What is the name of your boat? I love seeing all the interesting names and the stories behind them. Keep up the great work. I'm in Texas, by the way....nothing like narrowboating here, but it looks like such a great way to travel!

    Stoppages are all too frequent on the canal network so, if getting stuck somewhere is going to cause you stress, narrowboating is not for you. On the other hand, people are usually only too willing to help out offering water and use of facilities, etc.. Its really all about the slow and unpredictable pace of life.

      Hi Mike, fortunately, it doesn't cause us stress but if like us your tied to schedules it can be frustrating! Looking forward to a more leisurely pace in the year ahead.
