Seriously! Like I’m doing so much research on the t8i. All they keep saying is “basic entry level camera, great if you just want to take pictures for fun” and then go about saying how good the quality is. It’s so discouraging.
I was so set on a t7i after doing so much research but everytime I want to pull the trigger I start to overthinking and get picky. I want to start doing photography as a hobby, mostly for outdoors and occasionally try video. The 90d seems amazing and wouldn't mind the price but it seems intimidating as everyone says it's more for professionals :/
@@dylansandoval9841 i have a t7i and t7 My t7i shut down after about 3 years of use. No drops. No idea what happened. But honestly t7i is an amazing camera especially if using the 50mm 1.8. I wouldn't cry. I made the 90D purchase a little while ago and every time I shoot with it constantly impresses me. The value is there. If you plan on shooting a lot of videos I would suggest downloading and installing the Cinestyle profile from Technicolor as it will increase your dynamic range in post-production. It has been extremely useful.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. Specifically, the side-by-side of the photos at the end. I know zero about photography but have wanted to get into it for more years than I care to admit. I've been researching cameras for a few weeks and thought I had settled on the T8i, but I stumbled across the 850D tonight. I thought I might need that one b/c of the extra megapixels. However, being completely new, I wasn't sure if that camera is overkill for me. While not in love w/ the idea, I was fairly willing to pay the extra, but I didn't know if the picture quality would warrant it. After seeing your side-by-sides, I'm perfectly happy w/ the quality of the T8i. Sure, maybe some day I'll need the extra bells and whistles, but now I'm 100% confident that the T8i will deliver what I need while I'm learning.
I actually have the 90D I've been shooting with the 90D for like 6 months it's an awesome camera it's a powerhouse I've done 4K with it I've done slow motion with it I've shot some of everything with it and I went as far as grabbing a cinema lens which I never understood would take a such a beautiful picture even with manually focused. The 90D does have manual focus speaking which makes it easier for you to manage your manual focusing pictures. The 90 d also comes with a 32.5 megapixel sensor which makes it great for high resolution and also cropping in an image and not losing any resolution. For low light the 90 d is probable to shoot low light pictures very clean and ISO 6400. Sometimes anything above that you will get noise in your image not much but you do. The 90D also has three shutter modes mechanical shutter electronic first curtain and just electronic mode now the 90D does not have a rolling shutter. I took it for a high speed shooting with the electronic shutter I was in the back of a car and everything I took a picture of was not bent not replaced if it looked it like it looked it that's just what it was. I love my 90 d is more important than the mirrorless cameras right now because they're not getting that much image per battery. The 90D can also come with a battery grip which allows it to have two batteries so you don't get 1300 pictures you actually can get more. The interesting part about the 90D is that it takes of you uhs2 card which is profitable to shoot more than 11 frames per second. I say to most I've got out of this camera is 33 frames per second and that was in raw. I can't tell you how much you do in JPEG because I've never shot in JPEG. If I do decide to put it in JPEG and click a few pictures I'll tell you exactly how many pictures it'll take with a JPEG file but it also has raw and c-raw. I really miss the 80D because it had more raw options like medium raw small raw. They seem to have took them out. The 90 Diaz weather seal it's almost bulletproof I went submerge it in water but I have shot videos and pictures in the rain. The most amazing thing about the 90d that it actually stopped the rain. The 80 d couldn't stop the rain it was a blurry picture when I shot it with the 80D but the 90d. I say the 90D is a remarkable DSLR camera if you can afford it I actually bought mines from adorama. For just about the same price he just told you. It's been around for a minute so you might can get it cheaper but this is a DSLR not a mirrorless camera but it's the last DSLR I would ever buy and it's probably the last camera I will ever buy. No I do got to admit it did malfunction within 3 months. The screen started malfunction and showing double pictures The heavy lens on the camera started glitching out I got the insurance and sent it back to Cannon they did a remarkable job of fixing it I don't feel like I should have had the body insurance with a brand new camera within 3 months. So if you get this camera from any other store or any other shop I advise you to get to Canon carepak. It definitely saved my cameras life not if I had not known about that I probably just would have threw the camera away or bought a new one but it was already brand new so that wasn't necessary The best thing that was necessary was to put the insurance on it so I can send it back to Canon they regrip the front of it they replace the back of it they gave it an update I mean they did an amazing job on fixing my 90d.
I'm seeing quite a few reviews complain about the graininess of the 90d. That is somewhat of a negative if you use the 90d for photography but it's better on video. To be honest I couldn't tell much of a difference in the sharpness between the two. It seems that 30mp is kind of a cut off where you need to have a full frame CMOS
Is the 90D good for astrophotography? I read that the high MP count of the 90D is hurtful as it creates noise. Which one of the two would be best for taking night sky photos?
I use rebel t8i w rokinon 14mm and am blown away by raws. Not huge on processing, its like makeup for photos, but the t8i gives some sweet looking shots under dark dark sky.

Yep, this 100%. Obvious crazy color noise/shift going on. Nightmare when taking hi iso night photos. Something to absolutely be aware of if that is something one does alot. Imo. the 850D clearly has an iso/picture quality advantage.
Which camera is better between the Canon 80d and the t8i? I would a good camera for youtube content and photography does anyone knows which one would be better for that? Thanks
Great video, really helps to figure it out! Thank you for the great work! If possible, one question. Does the Canon Rebel T8i (Canon 850D) have the ability to record 4K 25 fps with a shutter speed of 1/25? Or only 1/50?
My guess is if you put these two photos in Lightroom and up the sharpness on the T8i you get a better 90D image OR you can up the noise reduction on the 90D and get a better T8i 😅 So it’s like a win win whichever way you look at it. You also gotta see which camera allows more light in at night or in low light environments. Also, gotta think about two factors: 1. Battery Life 2. Price On one hand you have better battery life in the 90D but price is cheaper on the T8i. But the T8i is cheaper so therefore you can get an extra lens or two with the difference in money and get a fast lens allowing more bokeh, less grain when allowing less iso. BUUUUTT if you get lenses with a lower f/stop you can get some nice photos. I forgot what lenses your using in this video my bad. MAN tough decision lol. I want the 90D for sure but after this video idk anymore haha
Appreciate the great review. My only observation is that you talk so fast that I had to constantly rewind certain portions to understand what you were saying. Once again great review and I appreciate the information, just might want to slow it down a bit
The Sony A7iii I has a full frame sensor, therefore it is the much better camera for portraits because of the ability to blur the background in a more extreme way than with the cropped sensor camera.
How do you think the T8i is for sports photos? I’m sure the 90d is superior but it is considerably more money and it’s heavy to me. I prefer the weight of the T8i.
As someone that has a T8i. For sport's If you're doing like still shots you'll be fine But any moving action probably not unless you have like a really good lens like an 18-135 or a fast autofocus and tracking lenses just best to stay away from taking sports pictures (fast object moving)
I love my 90D. I also have the M50 and the T6i anger comparing them, the 90d is a much better camera. But as you stated the T8i would make for a great camera for someone not needing a more pro type camera. I'm actually giving my T6i away on my channel. Great video as always.
A lot of people are disappointed that it doesn't have two card slots but I'm not and for the UHS2 card to go inside of it it doesn't need two card slots I'm satisfied with one card slot you talking to a person who actually came from a rebel brand of camera these cameras the 80D and the 90 d are more professional trust me I know
I am looking to upgrade but not sure which to pick i like to take portraits along with video.... i currently have a T7i ..... I was looking at purchasing an R5 then with all the overheating issues I thought about the eos r, rp and the 5d mk iv..... im now gravitating towards the 90D because from what i hear and see its very comparible to the 5dmkiv..... I just don't know and this all costs alot of money....
In your opinion is the (Panasonic GH5) or (canon 90D) worth it? I’m looking to start a RUclips channel so I guess I’m looking for a stronger video camera and I am also a semi-beginner. Can you please respond to this comment or address a comparison video? Thank you!
Thanks for the detailed comparison, helped me choose. Also an achievement in itself is the 3.5 words per sec x 60 sec x 9 mins = 1890 words before the first cut. Gotta learn this too. Cheers ;)
No it is not possible. DSLR cameras are made for detachable zoom lenses and for prime (non zoom) lenses, which is probably the reason a zoom system is not built into the camera body.
Hello sorry by setting the selection wheel in AUTO the photos I take are always in 4: 3 format In the shooting settings menu The possibility to change the aspect ratio to 16: 9 does not appear on the display - My fotocamera is CANON EOS 850 D Could you please help me? Thanks
Zooms in to look at very small details that no one else is going to notice... yup 90D is the choice.. Nah man if you have to zoom in to see the difference between even a t7 and a 90D its not worth it. Also hate when they say this is an entry level camera that would fit best for a hobbyist like dude I make money with photography with my Canon G7X you do not need anything more than a t7 really unless you're focused on video thats when it matters!

Looking to upgrade from my T7i; and I can't justify the cost of something like an EOS R (or eventually R6/R5). Have you experienced any issues with the 90D? Overall, it looks like a great option. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Thanks for the feedback guys! One last question, what lenses would you recommend using? I have the Sigma 18-35 f1.8; but wondering about some higher quality Canon lenses.
That is ashame that the new Rebel requires you to manually lift the flash. It may not seem like a big deal but when my Rebel XSI from 2008 has auto pop up, it just shows they take away features for no reason.
What is better about a $10,000 camera Canon compared to the 90d? I bet professionals could not tell the difference right? The 100 megapixel Hazel bad that's ridiculously expensive
Nice analysis. it really just depends what you're looking for. The small size and weight of the Rebel are probably the most important considerations. If you don't need weather proofing and real 4K video, then go with the Rebel. It has the same size sensor and autofocus system. And a head phone jack isn't a big deal.
@@bruhdamartinasty3636 it’s not. We compared them and your u can barely tell which one did what. The T8i is so close to the 90D I went with the T8i as the 90D is too heavy for me.

Hello Tbones. Thank you for the video. I have the T8i. Have you tried using the T8i as a live stream or webcam? I have not been able to get my T8i to connect to any webcam software. Canon tech support could not figure it out either. I was just wondering if you or anyone has gotten theirs to work as a webcam. If yes, any tips? Thank you.
You have to go into your task manager and shut down your eos utility program for it to work.... It will NOT do both at the same time.... end the eos utility process and then try it.... That is what works... i have a t7i i ran into the same problem but now i am good... I hope this works for you if not hit me up and i will look into this further for you.
I don´t get Canon, 80D had 1080 60FPS but both of these new cameras can´t do 60FPS. But I wonder if it´s not better to spend same money for 90D on some mirroless
Better sensor performance AND features with newer models... BUT FULL-FRAME SENSORS HAVE THEIR OWN BEINIFITS... I'd choose full-frame even though they have limited features...
yeah thanks for this as i have been undecided which to upgrade to from my trusty canon 700d - what it seems to come down to for me is budget and whether the extra cost of the 90D justifies the headphone jack, and 4k no cropping. As a headshot and portrait shooter Im not sure I would see a clear winner or difference in the image quality and while I like to shoot a bit of video perhaps the crop of 850d in 4k may not be much of an issue. And yet Im still on the fence and even wondering about the Canon RP - choices, options, budget I cant decide!
90d doesn't worth it paying $450 more no way.....sometimes factories just do some "upgrade" to.keep the marketing moving.... there's a war out there right now in camera market....
I think he meant studio work, and the features that are available on the 90d vs the 850d. I agree with you that the 850d could still produce good enough image quality for client work. I use a 250D as well, it's all about whose hands the camera is in and the knowledge you can apply to your shoot and post.
For me this camera is not at all up to what we say. An 18Mp photo is more perfect than this 32Mp. Even an amateur should not buy this camera. The T8i is better than the 90D

As someone that has a T8i. For sport's If you're doing like still shots you'll be fine But any moving action probably not unless you have like a really good lens like an 18-135 or a fast autofocus and tracking lenses just best to stay away from taking sports pictures (fast object moving)
The price for 90d hasn't gone down. It's still $1199
And it is STILL $1199.
Awesome comparision review, thanks a lot!
I love my 90D. I also have the M50 and the T6i anger comparing them, the 90d is a much better camera. But as you stated the T8i would make for a great camera for someone not needing a more pro type camera. I'm actually giving my T6i away on my channel. Great video as always.
Which should I get to start growing my RUclips channel
you did a great job in this video, i hope you provide a video comparison between these two device
A lot of people are disappointed that it doesn't have two card slots but I'm not and for the UHS2 card to go inside of it it doesn't need two card slots I'm satisfied with one card slot you talking to a person who actually came from a rebel brand of camera these cameras the 80D and the 90 d are more professional trust me I know
The 90D has a good low light iso performance??? Y want to buy it ro take pictures at night with 3200 iso for example , could you help me?
Hey this review was actually the best I seen so far! Subscribing
Do you recommend to wait for 100D or T9i?
You have to wait four years
I am looking to upgrade but not sure which to pick i like to take portraits along with video.... i currently have a T7i .....
Thank you!
What’s ur budget my friend if u want the best advise ever get the g7x mark 2
Anthony Ruiz I thought about it but for what I’m going for in style, I’m doesn’t suit my needs
Yea I think he’s right bro. I have a M50, t7, and a just got a g7X miii and I could’ve just got the g7X and been good.
Nicely comparison. I'm gonna get me the 90D for my RUclips content videos.
Love the videos man, keep it up :D
both photos look good but many won't need to zoom in 200% they just want a nice quick pretty picture that possibly they can raw edit
Thanks for the detailed comparison, helped me choose.
Also an achievement in itself is the 3.5 words per sec x 60 sec x 9 mins = 1890 words before the first cut. Gotta learn this too. Cheers ;)
Great vid! Is it possible to digital zoom in while recording on the 90d just as on the t8i?
No it is not possible. DSLR cameras are made for detachable zoom lenses and for prime (non zoom) lenses, which is probably the reason a zoom system is not built into the camera body.
During comparing 850d and 90d video, both used 10mm lens? Why 90d looks wider... Tq
Hello sorry by setting the selection wheel in AUTO the photos I take are always in 4: 3 format
In the shooting settings menu The possibility to change the aspect ratio to 16: 9 does not appear on the display - My fotocamera is CANON EOS 850 D Could you please help me?
Super helpful video. Thank you!
which Canon camera matches up with the fujifilm x-t4? Its an expensive camera and I am looking for one that is as good but cheaper
I'd rather not have the flash pop up I wonder if it has a shut off like my cheap x60 Denmark I've been looking at the Canon 80d camera.
PLEASSSSE do a video with the m50 vs the t8i! I’m looking to do photography (on myself) and RUclips videos! I want high quality for my pictures AND videos! If you see this what do you think? I’ve been asking photographers from all over and would love to know your opinion!
Hey man whered you get that tree in your back right?
77D Vs 80D canaon videi
Can the T8i handle sports photography 🏒⚾️
Thank you so much man! You’re awesome
So we got the video footage of both cameras but what camera did you make the original video with???😂😂😂
Canon EOS R
Video is shakey even for a little hand move from 9:00 Are these dslrs not good for Video recording? Can you suggest any dslr with good video stability?
Just get a m43 with image stabilization, or get a Sony a6600 or a7 series
Looking to upgrade from my T7i; and I can't justify the cost of something like an EOS R (or eventually R6/R5). Have you experienced any issues with the 90D? Overall, it looks like a great option. Thanks, keep up the great work!
I have 90 d u have to get it unless u want the 6d mark 2 full frame at nearly the same cost
Nope love my 90D it’s a huge upgrade from the T7i and worth the money
Thanks for the feedback guys! One last question, what lenses would you recommend using? I have the Sigma 18-35 f1.8; but wondering about some higher quality Canon lenses.
What type of lens you have on the T8i on this video?
That is ashame that the new Rebel requires you to manually lift the flash. It may not seem like a big deal but when my Rebel XSI from 2008 has auto pop up, it just shows they take away features for no reason.
I hate auto pop up
@@Thai.H me too I prefer the manual option because I don’t always need the flash
What is better about a $10,000 camera Canon compared to the 90d? I bet professionals could not tell the difference right? The 100 megapixel Hazel bad that's ridiculously expensive
what lens did u use on both?
Nice analysis. it really just depends what you're looking for. The small size and weight of the Rebel are probably the most important considerations. If you don't need weather proofing and real 4K video, then go with the Rebel. It has the same size sensor and autofocus system. And a head phone jack isn't a big deal.
Different sensor. They may be the same "size" however the 90D is much better. 32.5MP compared to the 24MP on the t8i.
@@TheWitness10 OK, cool. But what does that translate to on the screen? Improved dynamic range? More detail? Is it noticeable?
@@bruhdamartinasty3636 it’s not. We compared them and your u can barely tell which one did what. The T8i is so close to the 90D I went with the T8i as the 90D is too heavy for me.
Hey love from India.
I have a question regarding 850d vs 80d vs 77d
My main task is photography and some videography.
Get the 90D
@@sebastiandiego8539 if I had enough money I would have bought Mark 4
Money is a issue. My budget is 1100$.
I have the 77d and like it a lot. If you're leaning more towards video, 80d. If you want similar performance with an 18-135 usm lense included for less, the 77d is a great choice.
For what I do filming bands and pictures of bands the 90d is perfect. I really really like these new cameras I want to get one. The d5000 I don't like 5 Minutes video I couldn't believe it I called them and bitched do your research I didn't that time. Plus I think I might have the wrong card I don't know the lens contacts I got to fix that want to buy a 5000? I don't
Great video gonna pick the 90d!!!
Awesome enjoy!
TbonesTech thank you so much!
Thank you, that was helpful.
No problem thanks for watching!
Why does my canon m200 4k with 30p lag every time I record a video
I don´t get Canon, 80D had 1080 60FPS but both of these new cameras can´t do 60FPS. But I wonder if it´s not better to spend same money for 90D on some mirroless
How would these compare to an older full frame camera like the 6D or 5d Mark ii?
Better sensor performance AND features with newer models...
BUT FULL-FRAME SENSORS HAVE THEIR OWN BEINIFITS...
I'd choose full-frame even though they have limited features...
If you shoot only photos then get the 6d if u do photo she video get the 90d
@11:20 Because I always want my Dust and Grime to be as sharp as possible. ;)
Could you make a comparison video between the 850d and the m50? Hope it will make sense.
Can I attach a Zoom H6 sound recorder to the T8i?
Why is it that if everything is similar almost....canon create different cameras...just to fool the customer ??
very good comparison
I'm going to sell my 80D for a 90D
Awesome man definitely a great upgrade especially if you are shooting video
@@TbonesTech please tell me which one should I go for
80d or 77d
Is there a big difference in photo and video quality between these two?
@@Vishal-vf8yb battery life yes, 80d aesthetics, 80d. Image quality not rrly any difference
Its not better m6 mark ii with speed booster, u Will have really good quality and crop
You fool in the name of Giveaway you are totally misuse our feelings for you
yeah thanks for this as i have been undecided which to upgrade to from my trusty canon 700d - what it seems to come down to for me is budget and whether the extra cost of the 90D justifies the headphone jack, and 4k no cropping.
R lenses are pricey
90d doesn't worth it paying $450 more no way.....sometimes factories just do some "upgrade" to.keep the marketing moving.... there's a war out there right now in camera market....
Facts
Sir i only shoot Canon 250D professionally so i disagree on that area with the Canon 850D it cannot shoot professionally :D :D :D
I think he meant studio work, and the features that are available on the 90d vs the 850d. I agree with you that the 850d could still produce good enough image quality for client work. I use a 250D as well, it's all about whose hands the camera is in and the knowledge you can apply to your shoot and post.
Canon 90 d vedi quality is better than canon t8i
he made a video on this
Why I only listen “ T8i cannot ”
For me this camera is not at all up to what we say. An 18Mp photo is more perfect than this 32Mp. Even an amateur should not buy this camera.
The T8i is better than the 90D
Thanks sir for the latest information(India)
I couldn’t see the difference
You just got my subscription.
Thanks!
90d washed photo?
Sim e ruim de foco também!
I wish I would've watch this before purchasing my new camera which is i bought the T8i.. idk if i can stkll return it and switch it to 90D 🤦♀️🤦♀️
90 d tem imagem sem cor e pessoas em foco !
Sabem me dizer se grava mais do que 12 minutos sem parar? Comprei uma T7 e tem esse problema de quando chega aos 12 minutos para de gravar...
The Canon 850D camera has a 4k Focus Issue. What is that Problem? Watch This Video..ruclips.net/video/hVL2MqQE508/видео.html&ab_channel=GordonLaingGordonLaing (Time :18:32)
It is hard to understand you many times, You need to work on your diction.
This is why I love my panasonic g7, video quality is on par with $1000 cameras... just the autofocus isnt :(
So this comment becomes mundane
T8i
Urgh, why did Canon have to make retarded model names for the US market... Makes it so much harder to follow along when the outside world model name isn't mentioned..
