I think your missing the point they spent 10,000 on a TV its lavish spending because zero people in the country other then them can afford basic electronics that everyone in the west can afford. Capitalist societies may have a gap but the poorest of the poor in America is the richest of the rich in countries like north korea.

There's much more equality under communism or socialism...the few people who live in excessive luxury deserve it bcoz it's compensation for their higher responsibilities in running the system...the working classes lead a stress free life and so while their necessities r taken care of, their luxuries r fewer...
