Being a Titanic enthusiast i was so sad when i found out that the ship that saved the survivors had joined the ship on the bottom of the ocean. R.I.P Carpathia.
Here's a little known fact: Because of the distance Carpathia had to travel to get to Titanic in the time it did, it had to push it's engines _way past_ it's the intended limits. It was said the chef engineer put his hat over the main steam pressure valve just so the crew would not see just how far they were pushing the engines. Far enough that it permanently damaged the engines, and Carpathia never again exceeded 12 knots (it's intended maximum was 14 knots. It's was doing 17 when it went for Titanic). Most likely that handicap played a role in it's later sinking.
But Carpathia was never alive also she was not meant to be a rescue ship she was meant to be a small passenger liners just because she saved Titanic's survivors doesn't make her a rescue ship just a hero
@@robertyoung3992 True, it was far too late for most. Thankfully it arrived only an hour after it sank, but most the survivors had no idea a rescue ship was ever even coming. That must’ve been horrifying.

I know these comments were a while ago now but you are right, It is a villain because U-55’s commander, Wilhelm Werner was an evil son of a bitch. I’ve seen some unpleasant records of him. Quite few timesI found he actually would sink ships, would take lifejackets from any survivors that he saw, would submerge their lifeboats, and would leave the survivors to die in the water. Especially with the Hospital steamship he sank earlier in January of 1918, HMHS Rewa.

They are talking about the 700 Titanic survivors that were picked up by the Carpathia, who would have most likely frozen to death otherwise. When the Carpathia sank 5 people died, you are right about that

@Kevin the idiot she was not in a Convoy she was sailing alone, that's why after the UBoat hit her she surfaced and took a picture of the titanic hero going under Can't send links on phone but there's a picture of the carpathias stern on her final plunge on Google
RMS Carpathia had only 14 knots for sail but it increased it to 17 knots upon receving the transmission from Titanic. All heaters and hot water supply was shut down in cabins so that steam can be used to pump the speed of the ship. As the dawn break Carpathia was there to rescue the survivors. RMS Carpathia will be never be forgotten RIP legend
I wish someone made a movie about them receiving the titanic SOS and how they made their way to rescue them and a bit about how they found the survivors and etc and how Eva Hart described children were filled and lifted up in big fish nets to the boats. And then later all the years it sailed until this. It's about time this ship had its history and name known along with all the crew that deserves to be remembered. If you read all the transmissions logs, the ones that Carpathia sent back were really such a relief. They were the only ones who positively confirmed they were coming and were comforting the transmission officers. "We are coming for you at full speed." It must have been such a relief. A sun ray of hope in the darkest night ever. I would really love a movie for it.

R.I.P Carpathia, thank you for saving the titanic, goodbye.... for now.... I wish you a happy life in ship heaven, meet the ship you saved... the titanic....goodbye
The Carpathia took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to sink and only 5 of her crew members died in an explosion when she sank. If you think the Carpathia’s sinking speed was fast, you should hear about RMS Lusitania. It just got hit by one torpedo and then completely sank in only 18 minutes in which about 1200 people died.
@@DANIELLE_BREANNA_LACY Do you think Titanic might have survived being torpedoed by a U-Boat had she made it to 1915? I do wonder if she would have held up better than Lusitania because of her more "modern" watertight compartment systems. But maybe the lack of watertight tops may have done her in again here? Another I've wrestled with is how much damage Titanic could take from resulting explosions after the torpedo strike. If one of her coal bunkers got hit like on Lusitania, maybe it could have similarly shattered her compartments.
Beautiful tribute to this heroic rescue ship of the Titanic. I'm so sorry to learn of the Fate that she met; she will forever be remembered as Titanic's hero. absolutely loved this video 😊❤️!

Thankfully almost everyone on this ship survived.
Yep Im so thankful but rip to the peps that died
I’m sorry this happened to you, you saved the beautiful wonder ship, you saved a whole bunch of people I hope you had a good life
Thank you for helping the titanic😊
Ive always wondered what happened to the Carpathia. Rest in peace RMS Carpathia, your service and heroism will not be forgotten
What’s sad is that people only know the RMS Carpathia for the titanic If titanic never sank then nobody would know the carpathia
Oh wow I didn't know Carpaitha sank or met with disaster but it's still amazing to know that the crew out did themselfs by racing to the rescue of the titanic survivers, They were so far away and the Californian was a mear 10 miles and didn't even attempt to go to they're aide, RIP to the real hero's of Carpathia.
California love!
I didn’t even know that sank, Holy shit..
3 torpedo’s hit the vessel
I blame germany or other countrys
@Carrots oh okay
@carrot bruh it said in the other video the german submarine u55 hit it with 4 torpedoes.
@@hippohippo2792 dude in ww1 russia havent u boat. She havent tanks, she dont have modern weapons. And carpathia was made in Great Britan cuz its cunard line ship. Cunard build all ships in Great Britan. (Cuz its Britan company )
The carpathia was a great ship it even saved the titanics survivors
My grandfather Harry was aboard Carpathia and helped pull Titanic survivors and dead out of the water. He passed before I was born, I'd have loved hearing his account.
Agreed, this ship's final resting place deserves to be marked& honoured. Over 700 people's lives are owed it, & their successors deserve to be able to honour their family's rescuer.
the Carpathia only 5 died
They are talking about the 700 Titanic survivors that were picked up by the Carpathia, who would have most likely frozen to death otherwise.
When the Carpathia sank 5 people died, you are right about that
This makes me so emotional seeing a ship playing a huge role, saving many lives of the greatest ship disaster ever. And seeing meet its fate with a horrible death in return is just sad.
In conclusion rip the RMS carpathia as it was not just a ship, But an had an important role in the lives of 700 people.
Actually the greatest maritime disaster in history is the sink of the Willhelm Gustloff, where almost 10.000 people died in 1945.
Titanic is the most famous, but not the greatest.
Giulio Roberto Neither is the greatest. A disaster is never great.

I've looked at everything I can find about the Titanic, including DR Robert Ballard's finding the Titanic, and this is the first I've heard about the Carpathia.
Because apart from Carpathia being Titanics rescue ship, (many ships were on their way at the time) it really has no other relevance to Titanic,
@@scottiebones Greetings, 705 of Titanic's surviving orphan's may argue the point of Carpathia's irrelevance.

RMS Carpathia will be never be forgotten
RIP legend
Rip carpathia

I just remember that this ship was a life saver, especially on April 15 when it saved 700 people from the sinking of the Titanic.
the Titanic had already sank by the time that the Carpathia had arrived
I remember it like it was yesterday, I can even smell the fresh paint burning.
It scares me how quickly the ship went down. But now Titanic gets to see who saved her passengers, and they can sail together along Heaven's oceans.
She sunk in 2 hours
If one of her coal bunkers got hit like on Lusitania, maybe it could have similarly shattered her compartments.
rest in peace R.M.S. CARPATHIA you are one the most respected ship in history.

c3pfett if it’s a hundred years, it’s not going to be a nazi flag. That wasn’t formed until later. (I want to say the party adopted it sometime in the 1920s, and they didn’t have control of the country until 1933.)
