I never knew hatred towards things until I had to replace an alternator on a 02 honda civic coupe. I will never forget. that bottom bolt had me going crazy for a few days.
I did mine two months ago and ended up with the same problem, still think about it till this day smh lol, mine ended up needing to be welded off 🤣🤣

I have a 2005 Town and Country.... it has 3 mounting points for the alternator. 2 or the 3 bolts broke off....one to the left side and one in the block.... I am thinking about how to get the one in the block....drill it out??

Instead of double nutting, a cap nut (also called an acorn nut) on one end of the all thread will look almost factory.
A related story I have is that I actually broke the exact same bolt when replacing the alternator on my 99 dodge ram. I snugged it up then went and got the torque specs from service data. Guess what though the torque spec on that one bolt was wrong! However I was tired and didn't catch the mistake so I snapped the bolt with my torque wrench lol. I ended up using all thread with a cap nut on one end to replace the bolt hence the tie in to this video. I learned that day to double check torque specs given in service data with what that bolt should be able to handle on a third party chart.

Refreshing to see a RUclips channel for a parts company that doesn’t immediately tell you that you need to buy 200 bucks in parts for a simple bolt fix. Using a buck of bolts from the garage…like we all have.
This bracket 10233233 has a bolt through from the rear. The front hole was at one time threaded which evidently has had the threads stripped. So the correct way a bolt holds the alternator is place is through the rear.
Hey I have a 2007 mustang gt. My 2 bottom mounting bolts for my alternator snapped. Can the alternator hold by the bracket till repairs?
for most diyers it's probably easier to just go to the hardware store and find a bolt. even if they have to go back 4 times before they have the right size. I know I've never had allthread laying around and it was long into my diy days before I had access to a cutoff tool.
Don't put a Snow Plow on a half ton vehicle, Snowplowing will destroy light duty trucks. They aren't designed to take that kind of abuse. Not to mention the rust & corrosion will take decades off of a vehicle in only a few years.

That’s a high performance engine. You can tell by the flipped air cleaner lid.
Couldn't you just order the correct one from 1A Auto? Or grab one at the local parts store?

Hi ! How are you today, My Name is Mr.Herman Woods .I have a 1981 dodge colt 1.6.My ALTERNATOR . tube part ! That the bolt runs through. Has gotten oblong ! In side ! Like your video , where .It is on the alternator.But on my car ! Its on the mount , but in the in side it got 4 oblong out of shape from the hole. Causing the alternator to move vibrate .i put sticks in it , to take up some space next to the bolt.it helps ! Until the sticks breaks up , the metal. I think is aluminum , And the mount is a crank case front ! But the mount is on the side .Of the engine , So o wont to know ! What would you .put in the hole ! To take up that space . Our do i try to fine some one .With a TIG welder for aluminum. To fill up that hole , back to shape.Pleace let me know, on what you think .thank you for your time .Mr.H.Woods 😅
Torque spec for alte bolt?
Nice video, my issue is 1983 Cadillac seville 4.1 HD-4100 alt seems to be misssing a spacer. i can't find anything comparable to match it up to. What do I do? Someone please help. Thanks
