  • In part 2 of my starter guide I touched on upgrading. Here is the full explanation I promised! This guide will fully explain upgrading weapons, shields, and armor.
There are very minor spoilers, but this guide is 95% compatible with a blind run.
    This video covers the following:
    - The three main weapon groupings 0:32
    - Upgrade paths 2:26
    - Titanite requirements 3:46
    - Blacksmiths and embers 5:10
    - Boss weapons 6:42
    - Path descriptions 8:52
    - Shields and armor 12:03
    - How to get titanite 12:52
Here is the link to the chart/info graphic: darksoulswiki.w...
I found it on the Dark Souls Wikispace, I don't know who to credit it to specifically.
*PLEASE NOTE* My descriptions of the weapon types are simplified to save time and to not spoil every last bit adventure you could have trying these weapons out. They are not 100% accurate. However, I did make some mistakes. Here are some corrections:
    - Crystal is not similar to Raw at all. Crystal weapons keep their scaling, get a lot more damage, but their max durability is reduced to 10% and they cannot be repaired.
    - Divine and Occult weapons technically deal magic damage, however they also have some special properties (such as divine weapons dealing more damage vs. undead and being able to kill reassembling skeletons).
    - Technically there is another grouping of weapons: Demon weapons... BUT there is only one weapon that you can get that uses demon titanite to upgrade that isn't a boss weapon, so I didn't bother talking about it.
Check out my Steam group! steamcommunity.... It's the best way to contact me if you have any Dark Souls related questions or need help. Just make a post in the group's discussion board. Group members will also get notifications when I start livestreaming or put up a new RUclips video! Hope to see you around.
