Oh my gosh, I watched this video series so often when I was starting out on guitar. It's crazy to think I was at a point where I couldn't bend. I've improved so much.
This one made the difference. Been practicing scales for a little while, but adding bends brings a new element. OK, online guitar support group, see you in lesson 7.
Should i move to next lesson or just practicing on bending for a while? meanwhile I'm practicing last 3 lessons Everyday... What should i do to get a better result ? and thanks again for these lessons.
hi nate ,i love your lessons! i was wondering if you can give the tab for the ending that you play in lesson #6 at the 7 minute mark?? it would help so much, thankyou
when you started bending the g string on the 5th fret it instantly reminded me of lucy in the sky with diamonds by the beatles Edit: also it sounded like you give love a bad name by bon jovi
At 3:51, you say the lick - with half step bend - just uses the minor pentatonic scale. But since pentatonic scales have no half steps, doesn’t half step bending necessarily take you outside the pentatonic scale?
Sounds like you're either bending too much or you're tuning is too low so you're strings are loose. Also, use as many fingers as needed to have control of the string you are bending but also the strings you're bending "through" so you have control of them as you release
Hey Mr. Savage, thanks for the series. Do you have any ideas on the pick to use or is that all personal preference? I use a .50mm pick for strumming but I cannot stand it for picking and I do not like the really thin ones they always break on me. I have a .73mm that I have been using lately. What is your take on that. Thanks. Question 2. Do you know how to play the bass? If you do can you please make a video series like this for the bass?
+Connect Ministry Hands and Hearts for Orphans Picks are purely preference. Typically people like thinner for strumming and thicker for picking. I do not teach bass guitar. Sorry!
Hey Nate, I have been following u for last 2 years and succefully learned the rythmic guitar and working on my lead but i am facing problems with using these techniques to created my own licks ,patterns or having fun with jam tracks. Please suggest something!
endless trying is the best ... record for example 3 minutes of rhythm guitar using you acoustic guitar and a phone... and then try to jam along to that ...it helped me
My fingers supporting my pinky and ring finger to do the bends keep getting stuck under the other strings when I bend, so they make noise. I'm not sure how to mute the other strings with my fingers while also supporting the bending finger. If anyone has any advice or help for this, please let me know :)
Hey thank you for the video it was really helpful, but i really want the tabs for the solos u play with the jam tracks in the end. Can you please email it to me or something?
You essentially mute the adjacent strings while bending. It's tough to get the hang of. You'll push the strings above up as you mute them. Just make sure they don't touch the frets or they'll make noise.
can someone tell me how can I get rid of getting scared to break string when bending...I feel so though to bend and when I go high I feel like the string is going to break so I cant give all of my power to string.
About 5 years ago I learn stairway to heaven's solo and i broke my 5th string, it was very traumatic. Since then i almost never bends for 1 full note from 1st-11th fret.
Yeah, bending on acoustic guitar is always tougher just because most acoustic guitars come strung with thicker 12 gauge strings. It can be done though.
Kinda lost me at 6:00 when "bending notes that are actually in the scale". I'm not sure why you are bending the 3rd and 5th strings a half step while bending the other strings a whole step. I can just memorize this, but I think I need to understand why...

Should i move to next lesson or just practicing on bending for a while?
meanwhile I'm practicing last 3 lessons Everyday...
What should i do to get a better result ?
and thanks again for these lessons.
+M.A. Vafaei It all takes time and patience. Just keep working at it. You can move on if you like, just come back and practice this as well.
That guitar is amazing. I didn't know gibson had that style.
+Zack Ramsey Yep! It's called a Nighthawk. :)
Very nice (:

What gauge strings are you using?
New to site, love it. Would like to see the notes being played, notes ect. How,where?
can i use your video method for my blog? Because your method is very easy to understand. i m from indonesia.

I think if anybody want learn this technique need a electric Guitar. am I right?
Ahmed Kaasim Bending on an acoustic is tough, especially with nylon strings but it can be done.
Won't recommend for a beginner... but it is possible since I can do it right now. I've been playing for five years btw
Hi, my strings tangle when I bend. Do you know what should I adjust in the guitar to prevent that? Thank you.

@@LukeWatts85 actually my strings are very tense. I discovered I have to twick the strings height. Thank you.
@@preciseaudioblog That makes sense. Never even thought of that 👍
Bending on the 12-14 frets with my pinky goes under the next strings. I have checked and set a lower action but still have this problem. Any hints?
What about muting when you are bending? A common problem is noise ringing out when bending mainly on the high e string.

do you have lesson for enhancing my ears on music?
can we practice for lead on an acoustic guitar???
Thats what im doing
of course...but ..
It would be good if you provided tab sheets for the licks you play over the sound track at the end.

Its ok to bend on 6th string?
Does this work with rhythm guitars or only electric ?
+Irish potato Rhythm guitar is not a type of guitar, it's a way of playing the guitar. Do you mean acoustic?
+GuitarLessons.com yes, my bad
+Irish potato It's tough to bend on acoustic. But some people still do it. So yes, it does work with acoustic. :)
My string no1 broke when i practice the bends in acoustic guitar😥, i have to wait till i get to buy another one
Is it necessary to have an electric guitar to learn lead guitaring?
Aditya Aggarwal You can use acoustic or electric, but most people use electric.
use acoustic if you want to die lol
How we made solo with the help of this bendings?
questions:
1. how do I know I’m in pitch?
honestly i’m just not sure how it’s supposed to sound

I'm not sure how to mute the other strings with my fingers while also supporting the bending finger. If anyone has any advice or help for this, please let me know :)
I have been doing the bend in a seemingly correct manner, but the sound of the step/half-step up just won't come out. What is being done incorrectly?
Hey thank you for the video it was really helpful, but i really want the tabs for the solos u play with the jam tracks in the end. Can you please email it to me or something?
+Sarthak Gupta Sorry, I don't have tabs for them.
how do i bend without dragging some other strings? :/ like i keep getting the other strings to make a sound when i dont want them to

it wont break trust yourself

Does it work on acoustic
+Rajdeep Nar It does. It's a little more difficult to bend strings on an acoustic guitar though.
When I bend the strings always seem to accidentally almost do a pull off on the string above. Any tips?
+Ben Simons Work on using your other fingers to mute the adjacent strings.
+GuitarLessons.com thank you for the advice
In this moment I wanted to stop:D
But good things doesn't come easy:D
+Krists Cizevics You can do it! :)
+GuitarLessons.com Thanks bro, I appreciate that.:)
I think I do good if I don't bend using my pinky though
+Jorrel Zamora You probably won't bend with your pinky too often.
My pinky is hating me trying to bend on these scales. I never used my pinky when playing unless I absolutely had to
how to play any song lead aftr listeining
this is where it gets exyrwmely confusing for me
I’m scared my strings are gonna cut.. they seem really tight😢
How do you hold the note.
Austin Williams Fret the note, pick the note, and then just let it ring out however long you like.
Does the effect work better when I'm using an amp.
+Austin Williams yes
i literally cant feel my finger tips anymore wich is good when you play guitar so it dosent becomes painful
get higher gauge strings
I bent the guitar in half,
im using acoustic rn how will i do this?😂
Yeah, bending on acoustic guitar is always tougher just because most acoustic guitars come strung with thicker 12 gauge strings. It can be done though.

ok, full bending....but how you do it with 12-56 gauge in Drop B?
lol as the lessons go on there's less and less views as people give up
Yeah, but that's okay. The people that finish will be rewarded with new guitar skills! :)
well i broke my strings because i bend it too much
WHERE'S THE AVATAR?
I cut my finger :(
That sucks!
