I’m 29, work full time and since having a child (now 2.5 years old) my enjoyment of PC gaming is out the window. I maybe sit down to game once or twice a week for 2-3 hours tops. Anytime I play something on PC and run into performance issues, several updates, crashes, whatever - I just turn it off. For me it’s just not worth the hassle and my attention span is very small these days. If I can’t just sit down and play something for a bit to unwind then I just don’t want to bother. So for me personally console gaming is so much more enjoyable.

It's such a disadvantage playing against PC players on competitive first shooters games like COD when at best PS5/XBOX's are running 120 fps and many of the (competitive) PC players are running 240 fps or even much higher. I will never understand the laziness of people these days with the internet full of learning ops as it has now, and it's just only growing. I built my first PC 5 years ago, with very little to no knowledge on the hardware side of things. I learned by watching videos online and reading some of the manuals and tips on social media. It was SUPER easy. It literally was like "insert tab A into slot A".
Now, I know not only how a PC runs and is built, but I can fix and upgrade it myself. I save a lot of money not having to bring it into a shop. And last week, I just upgraded to a 7900xt for modern gaming and switching over to PC from PS5.
But people will always complain how it's inaccessible for people to learn that stuff. They just don't want to save money by putting in the time and effort to learn something new.

    • @AaronWOfficial
      @AaronWOfficial Месяц назад

Since 20 years ago, it was easy to build a PC.
All you ever needed was some common sense, a screwdriver, and the motherboard manual. Motherboard manual literally tells you what every port is so you can easily figure out where everything is meant to go. Outside of that the only thing you need to know is where the PSU goes which is obvious, where to screw in the motherboard stand-offs which is again obvious (line up the stand-offs with motherboard screw holes and then you know where they go), and how to apply thermal paste which you can just watch a quick video for. Some people act like you need a degree in rocket science to build a PC, they couldn't be further from the truth. I tell people building a PC is basically a more complex version of lego.

@@AaronWOfficial True but two things to consider, most parents will probably not buy a whole bunch of separate parts to assemble into a PC, and for the adults that wanna game, its not the PC building itself, its space, since most people cant really fit a full sized PC in their desks, and a console is smaller. However you may argue about ITX builds, but the issue is, if your a first time builder, an ITX build isn't the best option since it takes longer then an hour to assemble then normal PC builds.

I´ve been a PC gamer for two decades, but I got tired of adjusting settings, the frequency of bugs, and the lack of a satisfactory way to play seating on a sofa witha TV. I don´t think PC graphics are much better than what consoles provides. Considering the diminished returns, you need to invest a lot more of money to get a significant upgrade in graphics, which I don´t think compensate the other factors I listed before. Therefore, I think the PC offer a better gaming option as the video suggests. Obviosuly, this is my personal choice, and each person has to decide what works better to them.

Even the best 32 inch OLED monitors just don’t even come close to the image quality of high end TVs. I own a 4090 PC with a 27 inch OLED monitor and the G4 77 inch TV with a PS5. The immersion and image quality you get on a TV of that size and quality is so much better than a PC monitor. PC monitors have always been about 5 years behind TVs as far as technology. @@AaronWOfficial Better buy a console and enjoy gaming. With my notebook i can do everything i need to do since many years. PC gaming is a very toxic community on top. No physical games is a big downside. More issues in the last years with games. I sold my Gaming PC and coudn´t be more happy. Mods are overrated (and tbh not needed) and the waste of time for optimizing your settings is probably the biggest mess, especially if you run into weird issues. Better graphics can´t outweight the downsides for gaming.

PC has better performance and options but it suffers from heavy cheating on multiplayer games. PS5 has a more even playing field. Now it all depends on the games you play. To me PC is perfect for retro gaming/emulators and indie games or modern RTS/Strategy.
Console better suited for AAA and specially AAA multiplayer games.
So the perfect combo imo is a 500€ budget PC + PS5 or a laptop with a decent APU + PS5

Another point with PC, is that games take up much more storage space on pc than on console because of all the added settings that come with pc.
Example: gow ragnarok is like 90 gb on console, but on pc it's very close to 200 gb.
Also I do mainly game on console because of the simplicity of just starting games and not having to worry much about hardware.
I do have a pc, but I mainly use it for my job. I don't feel like spending hours to optimize my games to then play it. By then I've lost my motivation to start playing games.
    So yeah, console for me.

To clarify. The extra size isn't because of settings but because of higher resolution textures and such. Basically it looks better on pc bit that comes at a cost of space.
Good news is storage, including fast ssd storage, it's pretty darn cheap these days and your pc will probably be able to hold more they once dive unless it's some kind of small form factor build.

There's really never been a debate, its made up. If you want easy to do gaming while being limited to what you can play and how you can play it but aren't bothered by that then go console. Console will 99.99% of the time be the quickest easiest solution.
PC if you want to go with more game choices and possibly better graphics and fps depending on what you're willing to pay. PC gaming is the more expensive choice right off the get but you can usually upgrade fairly cheaply also depending on your choice of setup. PC is alot more complicated than console gaming too in alot of situations. If you're not PC saavy then you better learn if you wanna PC game and get the most out of it. But daaaaannnngggggg those graphics!
Seriously though those new cosoles are nasty little machines. Too bad they don't do steam.

I have to agree with this. PC can be better to a point. I built a mid tier PC about 5 years ago and now it can’t even run Fortnite without constant frame drops and crashes. If I wanted to upgrade my hardware to be able to run it smoothly, I’d basically have to get a new build which these days costs 4 times the amount of a console. Also most people won’t factor in the cost for peripherals for a PC (keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc). That stuff tends to cost more than a decent 40 inch tv these days. I play Fortnite on ps5/xbox series x with no issues and it didn’t empty my bank account to do so

I would rather spend 400-700 on a console than 1500 on a PC what can do 4k simple as that. I have also owned both and gave my pc with a 4090 to my Nephew, as was simply a waste of money. Rather buy watches what could up in value then spend 1000s on PC. Anyone who says you can buy a 450-700 PC what does 4K at rock solid 60 is simply lying.
I also love having my games in one place and achievements.
Console push and play no need to troubleshoot anything, Also no wall hacks or Aimbotters. I don't want to fiddle with settings, just want to push and play. Console is just easy don't have to worry about anything. Plus console you have physical games PC you don't.

3:11 youre wrong. game devs are too lazy to properly port the game to pc, due to the variety of the players hardware. not because the games "cant run as well" on pc because its not primarily for gaming. games are coded on a pc... Also a breakdown of why is this is so because consoles have the same gpu and easier to optimise the shaders for that gpu while pc users selection is endless if you get my point....

That’s arguable. Some may be too lazy but the amount of time and money it would take to account for all combinations and properly test them is why it’s not done. Developers are told what to create and do, they are at the mercy of that. If they have a deadline they have to meet it. The games are pushed out before they should be because of this leading to issues ultimately frustrating players and requiring updates to even get games running. Dev’s are just as frustrated as the consumer. But it’s above there head

That is a myth btw, has nothing to do with hardware variety. Games in the 90's\early 2000's never had this problem, and hardware was even more varied back then than it is right now. Right now we only have basically 8 types of nvidia gpu and 8 types of amd gpu each generation, with 4 types of intel cpu and 4 types of amd cpu every generation. Back in the day there was far more than this, I still remember the times before i3\i5\i9 when they just had dual core, quad core and 8 core. There would be like 6 - 8 different models of each quantity of cores, with different caches and different clock speeds XD. The problem is lazy devs now have upscaling as an excuse to not optimize a game properly, also directx 12 being literally trash compared to directx 11 for performance also plays a hand in bad optimization. Microsoft really needs to do a directx 13, because directx 12 is clearly causing problems. Directx 11 on witcher 3 basically doubles your fps with the same graphics settings as directx 12. Naturally you can't use ray tracing in directx 11, but if you compare to directx 12 without RT it looks the same. It also doesn't have DLSS, but you don't need DLSS in dx 11 because you have double your fps anyway. Ready Or Not is another game that runs better in directx 11. Some games that have vulkan actually run better in vulkan than they do in directx 12.

'Finally ENDING the PC Gaming vs Console Debate'......there is no answer (yawn) :-) Switched to PC back in 2014, and never gone back. There is no going back. The stuff you talk about (graphics settings, drivers, hardware etc.) you learn as a PC gamer. This makes you appreciate the games even more by gaining a new perspective and knowledge on how they work - not disimiliar to having a car and learning what's under the hood, how it works, and doing some bits yourself. The feeling of building a PC from scratch, having it boot into life and playing your games is incomparible to a console. Every dedicated gamer should aim to either get, or build their own gaming PC at some point in their gaming lives.

lmao. I disagree. I'm a PC gamer and work in IT. I love working on computers and tinkering around with them and building PCs. But there's a reason why some people feel intimidated with PCs. You can argue that PCs have become a lot easier to build and setup compared to the past 20-30+ years and that's true. But it still doesn't negate the fact that they are like regular PCs in the sense that they can fail and have the same issues as a regular PC. A Windows update can wreak havoc when you just want to sit back and enjoy the game. Or a buggy driver version that Windows thinks is perfect gets installed and all of your games start crashing. And people don't want to deal with that.

I own ps 3,4,5 - most of Nintendo fans consoles including Switch. But I always need a PC for everything. Having a PC is like havinh a smartphone for me since early 90s; in that I must own one at all times regardless of gaming or not.
You buy a PS5 you still need a PC for anything really. So why not skip the console and get a better PC with that budget.
Now that I can play all PS games (steam), xbox games (game pass) and Switch games (emu) on PC, moving forward this gen most likely the last one for me to buy a console. PC is all I need. Plus if you move frequently offshore as I begin to do so recently just a mini itx pc (10-15 liters) with rtx 4080 super and 7800x3d (7 kg in total) or a 16inch laptop does EVERYTHING.

@@bluedemon8306 Go with the Ryzen system, intel has been having issues with their cpus being compatible with just about anything. Some think its a bios issue some think its a firmware issue, especially on games.
If intel wasn't having issues right now if you're buying a PC for professional work I'd say the intel i9 but if you're gaming then the Ryzen, but I strongly don't recommend the intel cpu right now.

PC. Even a cheap PC offers more value than a console. You can build a PC for about the same price as the PS5 Pro, maybe a tad more or less, and get a more feature rich experience where you can control how the game performs, and you don't have to pay to play your own games online and you don't have to pay for cloud saves. Not to mention the much larger library of games. Consoles barely have any exclusives anymore aside from Nintendo. PS5's exclusive lineup is a joke, and Xbox has abandoned exclusives altogether in favor of including PC. Also, portable PCs like the Steam Deck are a thing, and from my time using the Steam Deck, it's basically combining the best aspects of console and PC anyway, with the simple interface when you boot up and the desktop mode when you want to use it like a PC. So, if you're gonna take anything from this, just get a Steam Deck.
