Very well shot review. Thanks for the content again, Kevin!
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your northern perspective. Quite often the reviews for various products I see online are conducted well south of Canada and I find many not really applicable to those of us north of the US border. Merry Christmas to you and yours Kevin!
Thanks for mentioning that. I know what you mean. Every time I open the door of my truck and snow falls on the seat I wonder where it was tested. :)
Great review and very respectable results considering the amount of sunlight available!👍
Thanks! 👍
Thanks for the review Kevin.
No problem 👍
Your reviews are invaluable to people who care very much about the “little” features. Very candid, very relatable. Please keep doing you and making videos; it’s solidifying my determination to get into mountaineering.
I’m also autistic, so you showing the process fully and what everything should look like step by step makes things feel a lot more accessible.
Thanks so much. I try and do my research and to be thorough. My goal is to not sell the product but to help the buyer decide if it is for them or not. And, I enjoy the comment about being autistic, I will have to give some more thought as to what is working in my delivery and try and do more of that.
@@KevinOutdoors you’re doing great! I just like seeing every step of the process because I process things very literally and and anything nebulous or that can be “left to interpretation” confuses the hell out of me, cuz in my mind the options are infinite…. So which one is it?
Brain works a little weird, but it does alright. But I was inspired by your videos and signed up for a climbing gym as a start for my mountain adventures.
Good job
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Look great for car camping for sure.
Absolutely, I have two 40W panels that I use on our tent trailer to keep the battery charged. This panel will put those to shame.
Actually the cold weather and the reflection of light from the snow increases the efficiency of your solar panel👍
The cold weather will certainly make the solar panels themselves more efficient. But both that and the reflection are relatively minor effects compared with a low angle sun and a very short day.
I live in North Eastern BC, Canada
You are likely at a higher latitude than I am and will get even less out of it during the winter. But during the summer it will work like a charm.
Hi Kev! I got the Allpowers 200 watt poly panels X2 for 309.00 each. Charged my Bluetti AC200P today (clear sky GTA area.) at 283 watts. I love them for the price!! Also got Elecaenta 120W (249.99) for my Jackery and it was pulling in 78 watts. You going ice fishing soon...take your camera and post!! Merry xmas and happy new year. p.s. handle will break
Cool, thanks for the comment Christian. Sounds like you got a great deal on those Allpowers panels.
Kevin I live further north then you your gonna have to head another province to test it for me.
Well, in the summer it should work way better for you. :)
I correct myself if you get to the most northern part of Ontario you will be just a bit further north then me in Alberta
I would have picked the Bluetti solar panels if they were waterproof. Sadly they are just water-resistant so they won't last in the rain.
Yes, I think that is a pretty major issue.
next you'll do a test of how well they work at night...
LOL, thanks for the comment, if I thought you could see it I would try it. :)
I dig those 200W panels, but they are just a bit expensive compared to other 200W solar panels.
They are a bit more expensive than some others. Also not waterproof.
That's the problem with me, sun is at an angle I would have a hard time getting any advantage on my electrical supply . Must be near the same latitude I'm at . I'm at the Michigan -Indiana state line.Sun came up today at 8:05, it'll be down by 5:30 .
Yeah, there’s your problem. You need to move the sun up higher in the sky.
You are still going to get more sunshine than me at this time of year. The latitude of the Mich-Indiana state line is 41.7 degrees N. I am at 48.4 degrees N. I can probably only get a decent charge between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at this time of year. The tables are turned in the summer.
