  • In this BONUS video of Wandering Wagners, we got another power station, this time it's a Bluetti AC200MAX with 200W solar panels!
    Power station & solar bundle Product Amazon link: amzn.to/3RXi8Zu
    AC200MAX Only product Link: amzn.to/3T1aHSd
    200W solar panels product Link: amzn.to/3yDf2mo
    A HUGE feature is the 30Amp RV outlet which is a first for us! This setup currently has the most solar we've ever had as well.
    We were able to run the microwave/convection oven, the Fan in the RV, but it couldn't run the AC itself. We need a @MicroairNet EastStart364 installed and it would probably start and run the AC.
    We were able to do some laundry which is great, because in the event of a power outage we can still do laundry, and hang clothes to dry, and recharge the power station with the solar panels.
    Next we used to to charge up our @LectriceBikes batteries! it was great to be able to charge up a bike off of the power station and the solar panels in a few hours. The bike battery was pretty LOW too, so that was great to see how fast it would charge it.
    We are going to be taking this on a boondocking trip soon as well and we plan to compare this power station to the other two we recently reviewed. Stay tuned for that!

    I'm new to RV Powering however i did come across the detail that you would need a minimum of 50amp to run (actually to start) both ac units. There was a power conditioner I saw that controls the START pull on the ac units that will allow you to run both ac units off the 30 amp source. Its because it does a "slow" start on the acs to allow 30amp to be enough run them.

    I got this exact one during the Black Friday sale and have four 200W panels. My first solar charge got me from 78% to 100% in about 50 minutes. First thing I tested was doing my laundry. Did both washing and drying (gas) cycles for one load of colors and one load of whites. I have 2018 LG models. I was impressed that I only used 38% of my battery. Quite a bit of juice in this thing. Live in California and we're always on edge during the summer with possible blackouts. Very good investment to keep most essentials going.

    Hey guys...really enjoyed this video. I'm an older 2015 TIffin Allegro Class A owner, with only two 6V FLA batts and a 1000w inverter and no solar. I'm adding solar before this season, and two more 6V FLA batts to double my ah and a 200w bifacial monocryst panel and Renogy MPPT charge controller. However, I'm adding this to older tech. You've demonstrated a way to add latest tech to an older system in clean, portable, no hassle way. I've grabbed a 600w Bluetti Power Station to experiment with, and am now thinking, its big brother you've used might be the way to eventually go. Awesome, keep it up! PS...73, de K0IVY

    Hey, They really come a long way, in portable power stations. BTW, the 20amp is also Pure Sign wave output for electronics. The brick is a surge protector and keeps heat away from the Lithium battery. They're all pretty good, take a look at the Oukitel one, this is what coming out next Fast charger 1.5 hours from zero. Solar systems are cheap. But You now have the tools to figure out how much battery/Solar you need on your rig. The Bluetti plug different items in and see how much they use in an hour, then add it up, and there you go. Hot Tubs don't count. You might Fluid film

    I use my AC 200max 30 A with my Rockwood mini lite while boondocking or drycamping. I primarily use it only for short periods for microwave, coffee pot, and maybe a TV/DVD at night for the kids. Two big watt draws will come from 1) the fridge if its not set to only gas, and 2) the RV converter will charge the house batteries from the AC200max. If im going to do anything with it for an extended period of time, I turn the house battery cut-off switch to avoid that wattage draw and obvious DC-AC-DC power inefficiency loss. All in all the setup is awesome- powers every outlet in the rig with no generator noise!

    • @lrndspirit5567

      With the AC200MAX you can leave the RV converter off always by simply making the bluetti your house DC battery. It can power both your AC and DC needs. Just buy the 30amp 12 volt barrel male plug. People do this for van builds all the time, but not often for RV for some unknown reason. I just unhooked my 12vot house battery and ran the same cord to the bluetti's 12v DC Plug. It will run everything in your trailer including slide outs. Just keep your old house battery as a backup.

    Cool product. Your demonstration at 17:25 with shading the solar is exactly why serious boondocking RV'ers should always have a portable suitcase versus just roof solar. A nice tree canopy will significantly lower the efficiency. I was surprised that with a 4,000 watt surge and 2,000 watt constant that neither air conditioner would run. The 4K watt should have been able to handle the compressor start. Regardless, we're big fans of the Easy Start and bet that would help. Have fun boondocking.

    • @WanderingWagners
      @WanderingWagners  Год назад +1

      Exactly! A little shade does a lot of damage to potential energy. We are pretty positive with the east starts it would run it but it tried and didn't go but it would run the fan no problem lol

    I have had the previous generation (AC200P) for almost two years now. I like the Bluetooth and App capability of the max and wish mine had that. We have used it on several camping trips. It runs everything in our Class C including the AC unit, but that isn’t practical with only the 360 watts of solar panels I have. I have not found a good way to integrate it with our Class C so it remains a portable unit that is not easy to move around thanks to the 62 lb weight. I am a bit of a sogen nut myself as I have five units. The aC200p being the largest. The solar panels are great as they are portable (fixed panels on the RV roof are great until you setup under a tree) and you can set them up anywhere. The problem that creates then is that I find myself constantly moving them around to maximize. In other words I babysit them all day which is not fun. Next trip if we have full sun I plan to just lay them on the roof out of the way and leave them there during the entire trip. May not maximize the sun but I will recover a lot of time spent fussing with the panels. Have fun with your new solar generator and I will be curious to see if you integrate it more permanently in your RV. Take care guys and thanks as always for your videos! We have Mohican, Alum Creek, and Hocking Hills coming up next week. 🙂

    • @WanderingWagners
      @WanderingWagners  Год назад +1

      Having fixed and portable panels might be the best of both worlds. If we do get solar, I don't think we'd get a huge system. These power stations really give us a lot of flexibility!

      I have tried charging my 200p with my ebike battery 36v/15Ah in pv settings and it works fine, it draws 12A from the battery, but if you monitor the voltage carefully so that the battery does not fall below 35v, charging must stop. I've tried with 12v and 24v also in car settings and it works really well, that's my faorit, I can then charge my ebike battery with bluetti when the sun is there again. Buy a wifi/blurtooth power meter and measure what you use.

    I have the 200max with 2 b230 batteries giving me approx 6kw of stored power. I also have 1200 watts of solar panels to charge at max solar input in case the grid goes down. I bought the setup because we're rural on well and septic and have 2 fridges and a freezer. This easily runs the well pump at approx 750 watts and would easily handle the fridges and freezer and led lights in the house. I tried ac in our live-in horse trailer it's 13,500 but and it started it and ran at about 1200 watts, 1650 with the fridge on ac. Once I turned ac off and tried to restart after waiting 5 minutes it wouldn't handle the load, yes the fridge was off, so a soft start would be needed. I kinda wish I would of gotten the AC300 with 2 batteries or now even the newer AC500, where does it end, LOL. All in all the 200max will do what I need but with little head room for extra stuff.

    Thanks for this video. We just bought an ac200max for the same purpose but I'm trying to decide about Bluetti portable panels or rigid roof mounted panels?? What's your take? Also, planning to buy 2 Lectric 3.0 long range bikes and was happy to see you charge the bike in the video. Was that a long range battery? Were you charging 1 at 258 watts or was that 2, couldn't tell from the video? Do you know how long it takes to charge 2 and what percentage of the bluetti battery was left?

    • @WanderingWagners
      @WanderingWagners  Год назад

      The lectric bikes in the video are the xpremium model so they have 2 batteries per bike. I don't recall the amount the bike batteries were at when we started to charge. Plus we had the solar hooked up same time they were charging so some power was coming in from the solar. After charging both bikes we had 96% left on the Bluetti.
      We have roof mounted panels but do travel with this portable one so it can be moved to be more in the sunlight. Both have pros and cons

      It's Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4). Rated at 2048 watt-hours and 51.2 volt nominal. 2048 watt-hours divided by 51.2 volt = 40 amp-hour. Yes, it has it's own pure sine wave inverter rated at 2200 watt output continuous/4800 watt surge. Yes, it has it's own internal solar MPPT. Yes it has overcharge and undercharge protection. Being LiFePO4, if the battery cells are below 32 F then it shouldn't charge. Most good BMS for LiFePO4 has temperature sensing for that very purpose. Yes as long as there's some charge in the battery cells, you can operate while it's solar charging.

    Hey, You really got to watch how you search on YT. I wanted to try that non stick on grills you used so i searched : how to make grills non stick.
    What came up - we all are still laughing first was how women can pee standing up, 2nd was how to touch women, 3rd how to make yor bra non stick it goes down hill from there. We were talking to friends and going to grill later - we went out for dinner in stead.

    Hi guys. I found your video super useful and am just about to bite the bullet and buy this system myself. My biggest concern though, is how do you guys secure the actual generator from theft while you’re plugged in and using it. I have a 18 foot Keystone Springdale and the charging port is on the backside. I intend on doing quite a bit of boondocking but I’m worried about how to secure this while I’m using it so I don’t have to keep a constant eye on it. Do you secure yours and if so, how? I’m a single 60 YO woman so lifting it up and down over and over doesn’t really appeal to me. What are your thoughts on this. Replacing one after I’ve already spent so much on one would make it almost cost prohibitive to buy another for a very long time. Thanks in advance. 😊

      We don't typically secure them because when they're in use when Boondocking or dry camping, there's usually no one else around. You could chain or lock rope it to your RV. Keep an eye on weather because this model isn't water resistant or dust proof. The AC240 Is water resistant though.
