"The Nazi engineers who designed the V-2 -- including their leader, Wernher von Braun -- would eventually immigrate to the United States after the war." That is some... impressive acro-semantics!
Found this after reading 60 pages of Thomas Pynchon's book Gravity's Rainbow (really great so far, it's like a feast for the mind), because I wanted to hear the supposedly very haunting sound of the rocket. Got this instead but this is still really cool. Nice little snippet.
I am not happy with your great grandad I MEAN IF THEY GOT TO BIRMINGHAM THEY COULD HAVE KILLED MY GRANDAD, GREAT GRANDAD AND MY GRANDMOTHER AND I WOULDN'T HAVE EXISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a kid in the 90s i had a documentary on tape about rocket history (from ancient Chinese rockets to modern space shuttles) and the film footage of the rocket tipping over, all its fuel splashing out and exploding was burned into my memory. I think its been about 30 years since i saw that clip at 0:27
Fragile and new well ofc that was the first rocket that went into space, it was the first rocket ever, basically every rocket Technologie today bases on the v2
@Grottgreta like the uncle of my father ;) - he worked with werner von Braun to create this v2 rocket and after war they told him to work in america and now he lives there with family and stuff^^

Have they tested this in the 30's they might of been a game changer.
probably not tbh, unless you can actualy guide them to hit a specific target, rockets are not anymore useful than artillery beside range
