  • The Aliyah a Day is an in depth daily study of the weekly Torah portion (from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) according to the daily readings. In Hebrew, these books are known as Breishis, Shemot, Vayikra, Bamidbar, and Davarim. Aliyah means to ascend in Hebrew. Rabbi shares insights to the Torah portion from ancient Jewish sources which include the Talmud, Midrash, Zohar, Rambam, Rashi, Rabbeinu Bachya, Ramban, and many other commentators.
    The Rabbi explores these insights through the prism of emunah (faith) in Messiah Yeshua. Join the international class exploring the Law of Moses; highlighting relevant concepts for daily living!
    Your generous donations keep the Aliyah a Day going out to the world! Text to Give: (817) 859-6613.

    Baruch HaShem, may the Ahavat Ammi (Love for my people) grow. We forever give praise and thanks to HaShem Who has given us Yeshua (ישוע), the Rock of our lives (Tzur Chayeinu / צור חיינו), the Shield of our Salvation (Magen Yisheinu / מגן ישענו)! He is the Messiah (Moshiach / משיח) of Israel!!

    What was Jethro converted from and when??

    • @LapidJudaism
      @LapidJudaism  Год назад

      At the time of his conversion to Judaism, which occurred at Mt. Sinai prior to the giving of the Torah, he was the priest of the pagan cult of Midian. However, he had been involved in ever pagan religion searching for the true God.

      @@LapidJudaism Well I hope he converted because in Exodus 18:11 Jethro says, "I know now that the LORD is greater than all other gods, because he rescued his people from the oppression of the proud Egyptians." Mind the plurality of gods.

    It is true that historically jews have been hated and slaughtered. It is also historically true they have been rescued and recieved a great amount of miracles. Check out what Yeshua said in John15:18-25. When we live out torah as Yeshua taught, the world will hate us because we are not of the world.

    The cult of love has infected people with the deception of 'unconditional love'. Meaning that no matter what a person does, they will be loved and accepted regardless. So in this scenario a person could commit atrocities yet still be loved and accepted. If this was the case there would be no divorce. This inturn would prevent people seeking tshuvah, forgiveness and redemption.

    Shalom, if Yitro converted why did he go back to his land and not go with the Israelites?

      @@LapidJudaism Thank you. He didn't need to go to Mt. Sinai and receive the Torah with the others?

      @@sergiochavez722 the narrative of the Torah is not always written in chronological order. The sources bring down that Yitro did stay for the Torah. He left seven months later on the 20th of Iyar the following year.

      @@LapidJudaism Yes I've heard before that the Torah is not always chronological. Ok that makes sense. Thank you so much. Shalom!

    I've wondered if the "christians" who were persecuted by Rome, a christian society, were really people/converts who were practicing or beginning to practice Torah observances. The fact that history calls first, second, third and fourth generation believers in Yeshua, "christians", appears to be a total lie. These "christians" should've been named Jews or Converts to Judiasm and believers in Messiah Yeshua. It wasn't until Constantine that the christian church became an "accepted" religion. Just call it what it was please. Jews were being persecuted in the Roman colosseum and buried in the catacombs. Id like to believe that these early believers considered themselves fully Jewish, by birth and/or by conversion through circumcision and mikvah, which I do believe were taught as bare essentials. Thank you Rabbi for a wonderful Aliyah!!!!

    And…..historically jews were slaughtered for their faith and told not to convert…..nor did people want to convert seeing the treatment of the jews….

    I didn't even know apostate Jews existed. I thought literally everyone was in faith regardless background. An atheist Jew is like an oxymoron 🤔
