    So amazing. Didn't realize that happened on the 16th of Nissan. Always learning something new when I watch the Aliyah. Thank you Rabbi so much. Have a blessed day

    I selected this video as I was leaving to go to the store so there was a bit of serendipity in my hearing. It was a good fortune! This commentary was among the best I have ever heard. The issue of the heart governing our actions is a stumbling stone for many with little push back ever offered. The counting of the Omer part enriched meaning for me that I have long searched for. Todah!

    What a great teaching!!
    So many good insights.
    I learned that, during the time of counting the Omer, we must walk leaving behind, all the things in our characters, that are hindering our way to HaShem, in order to be empty of ourselves and have room to receive His Torah. Baruch HaShem. Todah Rabbi.

    I don’t trust my “heart”. Most of us don’t actually know or see all that is in our hearts. We only see a fraction of what’s there. Hashem sees all.

      So true Steve…scripture tells us “out of the heart the mouth speaks”. If we are aware enough we can know when we hear ourselves or others speak what’s inside. And as you shared, it’s only a portion of what’s inside one’s heart. Heavenly Father is so good that He gave us His spirit, The Ruach HaKodesh, whom we can trust. I love Romans 8:14 that describes how we (His children) are led of The Ruach HaKodesh.

      I am confused on the starting of the counting of the Omer and when first fruit is. I assumed Yeshua was our first fruit offering as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:20 “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” And that Yeshua did not present Himself as that first fruit offering to the Father until the day after the weekly Sabbath of rest when He was resurrected, as He said to Mary in John 20:17 “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go and tell My brothers, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’ ”
      Is this a completely different first fruit appointed time of Hashem, and what does it signify if not an aspect of His plan of salvation, like the rest of His moedim? I was led to understand that His appointed times all connected with and pointed to an aspect of Yeshua’s first and second coming. Is that not correct, and if incorrect, what are they supposed to reveal to us? I can understand the Jews not looking to Yeshua as the first fruit, but Leviticus 23 never identifies a date, like for Pesach and matzah - it only says “on the day after the Shabbat”, and in 23:15 more specifically says “From the day after the day of rest…you are to count seven full weeks.”

    • @LapidJudaism
      @LapidJudaism  Год назад

      The scripture is speaking about the “Shabbat”’of Pesach; the Yom Tov which is the 15th of Nissan. In this case, the “day after the Shabbat” is the 16th of Nissan. This has been the understanding for 3,000 years.

      @@LapidJudaism So Yeshua is not our first fruit offering as Paul and Yeshua indicate. How does this appointed time connect with Yeshua or does Lapid Judaism not believe Hashem’s appointed times have anything to do with Him or His plan of salvation. Just because the Jews have believed something to be so for 3,000 years shouldn’t unquestioningly convince me or anyone that they have not been in error. Everyone has. They don’t believe Yeshua is Meshiach Ben Yosef. They are obviously not infallible, they just seem to be unwilling to admit it.

    I’m confused as to when Passover ends, you say Wednesday but everything I’ve seen says Thursday. I just want to be correct.

    • @LapidJudaism
      @LapidJudaism  Год назад

      Thursday is the “extra day” traditional observed in the diaspora. In Israel, it is not a part of the Holiday. With the establishment of the calendar 2,000 years ago, there is no halachic reason for the additional day this we do not observe it.

    Thank you for the teaching. Lots of good perspectives. I'm just curious on how you came to the 16th of Nisan as the resurrection day for Yeshua? 3 days and 3 nights(as was Jonah) doesn't bring you to the 16th. All I can think of is what a lot of Hebrew Roots do, where they try to have his resurrection fall on "First Fruits" as a symbol, trying to shoe horn it in because it sounds good. That doesn't seem like the accurate symbol though. We bring the omer to El (via Kohen) as our offering. Yeshua wasn't given BY us, He was given TO us as a sacrifice. His resurrection isn't symbolic of us giving the wave offering. Two different things. Not trying to correct or anything. I love your teachings. This one part just doesn't seem to add up to me.

    • @aaronberg9502
      @aaronberg9502 6 месяцев назад

      As I think about it more, it reminds me of how Christians come up with Easter Sunday... very end of one day, one night, one day(Shabbat), one night and rise right at dawn. That's one day, part of two other days and two nights. Nowhere close to 3 days and 3 nights, but it needs to fit into Ishtar (Easter), so everyone goes with what the Catholics taught. Sorry if I sound critical.... not at all. I'm just trying to understand how this works, because I really do enjoy the great majority of your teachings and appreciate the knowledge that you share with so many.
