Good to finally see the much talked-about fleet museum, but Voyager? I assume she was retired due to her long trek through the delta quadrant, but a ship that age should still be in service.
They are already retiring the Enterprise F methinks the cosmic dust settled on Voyager long ago. It's been what 22+ years since Voyager returned in 2377?
@@nicksantos43 Yeah, it's amazing what little return on investment they get in the lifespan of these ships. Seems like only Excelsior & Miranda class had any longevity. The Enterprise - E should still be in service to say nothing of the "F".
All those starships and yet it seems Impossible to catch a glimps of the Enterprise E in this series. Loved this scène though. Hoped the crew would hijack the HMS Bounty to fly incognito towards Daystrom.
DS9 was always the red headed stepchild of Trek. Ignored. No love from the studio. But those of us who are DS9 fans are seeing that rectified as more and more people come to see DS9 as the amazing show it is.
I know it's a call back to Relics, but I'm now curious what the story of the U.S.S New Jersey is. Were her exploits as memorable or significant as her museum bunk mates? Or was she the "last" of the original Constitution classes kept intact as a memorial while her sister ships were upgraded and refitted?
Kirks Enterprise (NCC 1701-A) is still one of the best looking. Maybe the best. Got to love the Defiant as well. (You know what the only reason they called it the Defiant is, don't you?)
They were really ahead of the curve design wise back when we first saw her in Star Trek The Motion Picture. She's always been the sexiest looking Enterprise to me. Despite the fact that those movies were my introduction into Trek, I don't think I'm biased at all simply because a lot of people share my opinion.
We've kinda known all along lol. There's no way those shows (reboots) fit into the primary timeline. I'm even still wondering if ST Picard is set in an alternate timeline.
NCC-1701-A still exists and is in the Fleet Museum?? Holy hel, that's good to see! Also nice to see that the HMS Bounty got rescued from the bottom of the San Fran bay.
@@Tigerheart01 There's a screen in an earlier episode labelling the Enterprise-F as "slated for early decommission"... and if there's already an Ent-F, that suggests that the Ent-E has already been out of service for a good while. I'm guessing they're leaving its fate open in case Lower Decks wants to blow it up.
I LOVE this. Def getting this on Blu Ray when it's released. Not really into the 1st or 2nd seasons, but I would probably buy the Blu-Ray just to snag this scene. This scene is like seeing old friends that have been away for years. Theoretical question for all you fans out there. If Starfleet could "gift" you one of these legends, or even just on "extended loan," to explore the stars with, which one would you pick? For me, it would be the New Jersey. Her twin sister, the late pre-refit Enterprise, was my first love. That ship introduced me to the world of Star Trek as a child, although the refit A wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize. Def have a soft spot for the original Constitution class. One hell of a tough bird too. It made two round trips to the 20th century AND came back intact: "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" and "Gary Seven." I am firmly in the Constitution class camp too, Jack.
I'd go with the refit Enterprise. First introduced to her at around age 5 (that would have been when TMP was released), I was awestruck. Have been ever since.
My introduction to star trek isn't there. It's probably still laying on Veridian 3. So I'd have to go with my second pick, Enterprise A. I loved the original Constitution class, but I loved the refit look just a tad more with the angled out nacelles, that blue deflector, and just the simple elegance of her lines.
Amazing show. If they do decide to make a spin off, I would like to see the part where the borg allies that is guarding the transwarp gate in the alpha quadrant.
still confused a bit back the TNG episode "relics" Picard tells Scotty that there is a constitution class at the fleet museum, but not the 1701-A . was the enterprise A still in limited service in the 2360s?
Dont forget the -A was heavily damaged during the Khitomer battle. It was due to be put in mothballs. As a result, they probably did not want to put a lot of effort in fixing it up given the situation of the peace treaty terms. If I recall the treaty stipulated the maximum size of the fleet in regards to capital ships. The Excelsiors were the newest capital ship and the Constitutions were to be replaced. As a result they had a lot of them laying around.
That's not actually what Picard said. Yes, he did say there was a Constitution-class ship in the Fleet Museum, but he never said there wasn't an Enterprise on display, and definitely never said the NCC-1701-A wasn't.
Constitution class and constitution refit class. Which the A is the later, The one Scotty and Picard are talking about (being on the holodeck with the constitution class "No bloody A, B, C or D") So Picard was talking about the New Jersey as the original Enterprise was lost in Star Trek 3.
Love the use of the musical cues, DS9 theme, Voyager theme, the theme from the TOS, and theme from the voyage home, I know it’s fan service but it actually gave them a way in moving the plot a long. Loving this season so far.
Have to think, in that timeline voyager returns home many, many years later. The area on earth may not have been a option. It also didn’t have the decades to become the ship crossing the galaxy to come home that may have earned it more prestigious location. Not to mention the technology, in the original timeline they would have had those years to transmit technology specifications back to Starfleet so never needed to be stripped down on return, the new timeline handed them a treasure trove of technology that could be studied directly. After that I may have been in no condition to do a planetary landing.
That was another timeline. If Voyager had actually stayed in the Delta Quadrant for 30+ years, it would've earned it's place as it's own museum for the sheer fact that it survived that long without any maintenance from a Starbase.
I always imagined that the fleet museum was on earth. A huge place where all the ships are gathered in the same place, I agree that it feels like this is more logical to have all the ships in space but it would still be cool if starfleet had a museum like that on earth instead.
Picard does not make sense in so many ways... It absolutly makes zero sense for the fleet museum to not be at least in sector 001. If not on Earth - why not in anywhere in the solar system? God, where is the logic in that to put a MUSEUM somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, so nobody can visit it?! Also time and distances are just fked up in Picard. I'd assume the top secret starfleet facility as Daystrom Station is somewhere - out of reach. Totally makes sense if you want to hide something. Still Picad and the gang manage to go from Daystrom to the Museum, waste a lot of time with chatting his old crew, installing a cloacking device and get back to Daystrom what it looks like less than an hour. So the travel must be like - 5 minutes? Do they have the museum in the same system as the top secret starfeelt base? just does not make sense.
@@tamasvago87 you do know warp speed only gets faster as time goes on. It is a big reason to why warp speed in the future discovery is faster than thr same number warp speed in picard, since although they don't use warp 10 due to the risks, they instead just changed the scaling, so instead of asking for warp 9.9997 it would be warp 8 or something. And with Picard, there have been tons of scientific advances since tng, Voyager etc alot because of them, so most ships would be fitted with a faster warp drive, especially exploration based vessels like thr Titain A
@@mastere6115 That is just a poor explanation.. According to ST technical manual warp 9.99 7,912 times the speed of light. So that is still less than 1 LY per hour. Even if we assume technology improved multiple times still makes no sense. Average systems are multiple lightyears apart. Especially claiming that warp is infinite - Trek has introduced transwarp because infinite warp does not make sense (and let's forget the sad warp 10 episode of Voyager :D ). Even more that Picard in the previous season Rios used transwarp, so it's clear that Starfleet developed this tech... This is just lazy writing, nothing else. Just like when they reached the border of the federation while Shaw was sleeping...
All I can think for the Defiant is that it’s effectively a stand-in for the first Defiant, the most famous ship from the Dominion War. Having this Defiant here is a way of representing the Dominion War in the museum. Voyager, though, was battered and way out of Starfleet specifications by the time it got back to the Alpha Quadrant. Plus, the ship was the Federation’s symbol for more first contacts than any other since Kirk, and combined with its crew surviving seven years without Starfleet assistance or dry dock, but still upholding Federation ideals, made it a very important historical ship. Janeway’s comment in Endgame that it became a museum in the Presidio upon return to Earth makes it sound like it was a highly regarded ship not only by Starfleet, but also by Federation citizens. Only difference here is that the museum is in space as opposed to the Presidio, but the ship still became a museum.

@@H99661 watch any Gene Roddenberry interview or a random TNG episode. Gene fought really hard to keep Star Trek positive as it was. And considering the big success of Star Trek Strange New Worlds, which is respecting this more, we see that people agree. Sure Picard is slightly better now, but let's not set the bar for "great" this low. It's a total disaster.
She is a beauty !!🥺
Ms. Ryan’s long pause, her light drumming of her fingers on the console, that almost magical smile as the wonderful memories of Seven’s time on that ship come rushing back… she never fails to impress me with her acting! Having worked with WW2 aviators, this is precisely what I’ve seen when one of those pilots/crew members is reunited with a plane they once flew on!!!
Scotty said it best in STNG Relics: "You never forget your first love..."
ALL THE FEELS ALL OF THEM
Those musical cues .....
Would like to have seen a closeup of the Enterprise NX.01 refit.
Yeah, don’t know why it had New Jersey. Should just be all the ship from the series, and their themes.
@@shao19851 Because the original enterprise was destroyed. Crash landed in Star Trek III after the self destruct.
@@tjeerdtrekkie1030 He was referring to the NX-01 Enterprise from the Enterprise series.
@@yuna420 I wasn't talking to Ships of the oceans (original comment) I was awnsering to shao19851's reply who talks about the New Jersey which is the original constitution class in the scene.
I was very surprised to see the HMS Bounty, Bird of Prey along with a hint of ST4:TVH theme.
They must have had it sitting in a giant container of rice to dry it out 🍚
In '95, I started attending Miss State Univ. The Student Union held a showing for everyone of Voyager S1:E1. On that big screen...long before 4K...it was as close as you could get to perfection. My wife & I dated and got married in this timeline. She got introduced to 'sci-fi'...and she loved Voyager. So many years. So much time. And when I seen this...a tear ran down...everyone has good memories...STV holds a treasured place in both our hearts.
Except Neelix.
Good to finally see the much talked-about fleet museum, but Voyager? I assume she was retired due to her long trek through the delta quadrant, but a ship that age should still be in service.
Pretty sure it was decommissioned and put in a museum as soon as it returned in the novels.
Voyager? That was two Voyagers ago, mate.
@@sethzwicker3631 The E was destroyed/wrecked in 2384 by the living construct in Star Trek: Prodigy episode Supernova, Part 2.
All those starships and yet it seems Impossible to catch a glimps of the Enterprise E in this series. Loved this scène though. Hoped the crew would hijack the HMS Bounty to fly incognito towards Daystrom.
Thr sad part is I bet most if not all of the Voyager cast would have appeared in this if asked.
As would DS9's peeps. Ezri Dax as head counselor on the Titan would be fun. :)
Probably not Beltran.
You know Voyager really gets a lot more love than DS9 lol we get Seven on Picard and Janeway & Chakotay on Prodigy.
Sisko coming back for sure
DS9 was always the red headed stepchild of Trek. Ignored. No love from the studio. But those of us who are DS9 fans are seeing that rectified as more and more people come to see DS9 as the amazing show it is.
I know it's a call back to Relics, but I'm now curious what the story of the U.S.S New Jersey is. Were her exploits as memorable or significant as her museum bunk mates? Or was she the "last" of the original Constitution classes kept intact as a memorial while her sister ships were upgraded and refitted?
Literally was named for the place where Terry Matalas was born and the year (1979).
@@halygoslive8302 Neat.

A wonderful scene, full of heart. Special mention earnt for a wonderful musical score that seamlessly relates to each ship in turn.

Damn it Seven, why did you have to short my optical implant.
Perfect episode
Jeri Ryan is a fantastic actress.
So much better now than in Voyager. Experience plus better writing.
Finally Star Trek is back to tracks.
Those museum ships have to be more than just fan service, I hope Picard and his allies should used some of them to save the Federation.
I mean the Bounty became key to the episode.
Remember hanger 12 is still there.
I bet the bounty was used to secretly research cloaking technology.
"out there thataway"
"There's one in the fleet museum"
(USS New Jersey)
"She's a beauty for certain"
"My friend's, we've come home"
Jack likes the Connie he’s cool with me
Kirks Enterprise (NCC 1701-A) is still one of the best looking.
Great episode, I hope another show touches on the Fleet Museum, what a fascinating place.
An original constitution class ship, now we know that the SNW Enterprise and Discovery are in a different timeline/reality lol.
Yeah and there was even the NX-01 Enterprise with the engineering hull which was suppose to be in the final season of Star Trek Enterprise.
I predicted NCC-1701A was a museum ship along time ago
Voyager
Glad to see they repaired the Enterprise-A and gave it the respect she deserves. So where's the Enterprise-E?
Probably still on Duty with a new captain and crew. Ship is only 30 years old by this point.
Probably destroyed. That tends to happen to ships named Enterprise.
@@dixievfd55 That’s what I was thinking too. Unfortunately we will probably never know just like we never knew the fate of the Enterprise-B.
No one knows the fate of the E. Just that it was replaced with a short lived F.
Were is Sulu excelsior. Is the enterprise d there as well.
The enterprise d was destroyed in st. Generations
@@timothygaskins1383 Saucer was on the planet. Geordie daughter was about to say what about the ship in part something. Maybe he rebuild it.
It’s there. There’s an Excelsior class ship parked and the end credits seem to indicate that it’s NCC-2000.
@@Shadowfax-1980 Good. Wonder what the new defiant looks like.
If you look to the right of the buttons Seven presses to bring up, one of them does look like a Galaxy class

Enterprise D!
Scotty mentioned about the Enterprise being in mothballs so possibly between 23rd century and this episode it was museum transferred?
The New Jersey is right there?
I wish the scaling was better. They made all the ships look like they were all the same size.
I think the defiant looked too big
To be fair, the Defiant has *never* had consistent scaling.
To be fair all except the Defiant and Bounty in this scene were the same size.
The observation rings around them were of different sizes like the ships.
I was hoping for the backstory for the New Jersey, and a day later there is one. I love it.
What’s the backstory?
@@rgood2056 supposedly it was the last constitution class starship of that design.
Admiral Janeway. Report to Picard Season 3. Now.
YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the use of the musical cues, DS9 theme, Voyager theme, the theme from the TOS, and theme from the voyage home, I know it’s fan service but it actually gave them a way in moving the plot a long. Loving this season so far.
its wierd to see voyager there, since janeway claimed voyager was a museum on earth in the last episode of voyager.
I attribute it to the future being changed when Janeway traveled to the past to get Voyager home early.
It was probably in the Fleet museum for a time before being moved to Earth.
Talks to seven but doesn't know the Voyager. He should have apologized profusely for not knowing. Lol
@@tamasvago87 The titan can go warp 9.99. Given how often Earth is attacked putting a Museum there would be risky.
Surprised the NX-01 wasn't sitting around.
There was an NX refit in the background. Possibly the NX-01, or a reproduction.
Apparently it’s there but in its refit reconfiguration if season 5 went into production
There is an NX refit in the background, presumably meant to be UES Enterprise.
USS Defiant and Voyager should still be in service. Meanwhile 100+ Year old Miranda's and Excelsiors are still flying around?!?
Rite smh
Could be replicas. The original Defiant was destroyed though.
@@nairda38 great points. Thx
