  • PART 1 (Please see PART-2 for the main video): I have repaired glass-broken xenon headlight using a used condition donor headlight (halogen type). First, I have removed the lens from the halogen type headlight later to be used as a replacement lens at the xenon headlight. Second, I cleaned the chrome bezel, which was exposed in time to so much dirt due to the broken lens. Third, I carried a repair on the headlight assembly casing and I sealed the hole at the xenon headlight via plastic welding. While sealing the casing I also transferred the side tab screw holes from the halogen type headlight to the xenon one. In this way, I made possible fitting the repair/replacement tab later on the xenon headlight. At the fourth step, I transferred the side light (parking light) bezel from the broken lens to the intact replacement lens. At the fifth step, I put the replacement lens back on the headlight using additional amount of butyl sealant (although used very limited quantity). Finally, I fitted the genuine headlight repair tab set (replacement tabs & lugs) on the headlight. In short, I have made 1 fully working headlight out of 2.

Can you do this with Mercedes headlights on a W213 e class 2018? I need to open mine but It does not move even with using lots of heat.

Unfortunately we do not have any damaged W213 headlight right now, if we found any, we will make a similar video as well. But they are very difficult to remove since they are with " cold silicone".

@@xenonland Cold Silicone. I never knew that. That would explain a lot. Let me play around a little more with a busted light lol. Yes, if you made a video about that specific light that would be epic. Thank you for the response.

@lockdowng112 cold silicone is what we call it here due to the fact that it does not melt easily after heating with heat gun. It is very difficult to open without help of chemicals.
