Beautiful Allison, you represent a pregnant woman very well, with your excitement for the baby and how you have shared your pregnancy journey with us now you’ve kept things private between you and Brandon about the pregnancy which is to be expected, but the smile on your faces when you talk about your son is so sweet, my prayer is that God will surround you with his presence, his love and he has gone before you and preparing you and your body and that little boys body to go through the birthing process and you have equipped your body for labor and delivery and I pray that the nurses and doctors will be there to encourage you and will hold your hand and care for you as his son‘s mother as you give birth And that your home will be filled with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ as you bring your child into that home. I know a woman who focused on foods that nourished post partum moms & leading up to her due date, made a bunch of stews and soups and casseroles out of the ingredients & froze the all. She is now so nourished and so happy she did that!
Sounds like that mama got a lot of protein in. That’s so important. I see so many moms making this mistake… Not prioritizing animal protein. There’s not one food in this world that is more nutritious than animal proteins. And what a great way for that mom that you knew to get all that protein in the way of stews and soups and casseroles👍🏻
If anyone is interested, the group, Mom’s across America, did a big lab report on hummus. Almost all of it in the store is loaded with glyphosate. So bad for you.

I’m 5 months pregnant with my first baby! It’s also a boy 🩵 reading these comments are so encouraging and helpful. Praying for you Allison thanks for sharing your meals! I am in such a rut right now with the weather in CA. I don’t want to cook at all it’s 114 degrees where we live so turning on the stove & oven is miserable. You are motivating me to start cooking again
I have two under 3 and with my first baby I would never eat! I just didn’t feel like I had the time and didn’t make it a priority and it caused so many issues. Definitely make sure you have easy stuff on hand ❤ first time motherhood can be a little overwhelming but I have no doubt that you will handle it with so much grace ❤ Praying for you and sweet baby B!

Hi Alison. Firstly congratulations to you both on baby boy😊. Enjoy time off getting into a routine and getting to know eachother.
I am a single mum of two boys, working outside the home, so out all day. I cook from scratch. So I bulk buy dry ingredients, tins every 3mths, fridge every 2 weeks, fill the freezer every mth..frozen veg have more nutrients than fresh because they are frozen within 24hrs of harvesting. I steam cook for minimal nutrient loss. I batch cook and freeze meat and other ingredients eg bulk fry onions to use in recipes. It makes cooking much quicker. I have 5-10min, 10-15 min, 15-20min and 20 min+ recipes we love, that I cook from memory..including dinners, lunches, breakfasts, snacks, cakes, bread etc. . I have some frozen dinners ready to go but very few because my boys are now 11 and 19yrs old and change their minds.. so I prefer to have ingredients individually prepped that I can use to cook Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mediterranean on demand!

🍉 Allison, the watermelons! I pick one based on a big yellow patch and lots of brown scarring on it. I heard the bigger the yellow patch means it sat on the vine longer to get ripe. The scarring is supposedly the sugar seeping out when it’s a sweet one! These tips have steered me right this year! Your way sounds good too!! Maybe combine all 3?! 🍉😊

What a special video! You are so organised and have such an established routine already and even if it’s not going to be the same it will all help! I find a big time saver is having a list of things we use every week and I just add the list to my cart and delete and add what we do or don’t need! Then all you have to do is pick it up! I also write a list sometimes of what meals we will have with those ingredients so I’m not buying things that will go bad in the fridge! Sending you so much love in your 8th month of pregnancy! I’m currently 6 months with our second and love hearing about your journey ❤ love from Australia 🇦🇺 xx

Meal prep! I have a 7 week old and nothing can prepare you for how busy you will be. The first few weeks are easiest because baby sleeps hard. After the first few weeks, they come to understand they prefer to sleep with mom holding them and it’s difficult to multitask. They do improve and this of course depends on the baby but I hear this more often than not. Good luck ❤

I started using my stand mixer with the paddle attachment to make energy bites and it’s sooooooooo much better than using the blender. It’s way easier to clean! I just let the mixer break down the dates/dried fruit into the nut butter then add in my dry ingredients and use a cookie scoop to help portion out the balls 😋

I always look for a big yellow spot! It means it’s had longer to sit and ripen
For a good watermemon check the heaviness, if there’s a lot of white scratches in it (means the bees think it’s sweet too), and if the green/white alternating lines are 2 fingers apart that’s a good watermelon! (Also if you knock on it and it sounds like a basketball)
My grandma told me to knock on the watermelons and the more hollow they sound the better! She also said the good ones all have a big scar on one side.
Not fully sure the reasoning behind either of those things haha but she always serves the best watermelons so in Grandma I trust 😅

Seems like lots of us are worried! I know she didn’t share her due date, but based on other things she shared it seemed like she was likely due late August/early September. This would be a very early little one so I hope he’s well and thriving if he’s here 💙
I thought she was delaying videos and she was due sooner than August. To me, it just seemed like her bump was much bigger on the July 4th vlog like suddenly she was a couple months further along.
@@Sarae89 that is totally possible! We really have no idea, this was just what I guessed based on a few things she shared. She found out she was pregnant Christmas Day, and since most people find out they’re pregnant between 4-6 weeks, that would put the due date in late august or early September. She also shared that she was 17 weeks pregnant on their Grand Canyon trip, which she posted about in late March. So that would make it a late august due date. But she definitely could have posted about that later or switched up dates to throw things off. Just me trying to be a detective lol
