I’ve been doing this for 10 years now. And I will say out of all of the reviews that receive products for review, you are one of the more honest and trustworthy of the bunch. I’m not putting anybody down, just an observation.
@@AlbertKimTV That's very true. I could really use your help. My last 3 7 inch builds have given me a fit. When I raise the throttle they just continue to go up in the air even when I lower the throttle to zero. The 10 inch just vibrates and goes crazy. That one used to fly. I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!
Wow... I honestly wasn't expecting for something even smaller than the RunCam Thumb Pro! And it doesn't look bad at all, Albert! 😮 Fantastic flying and review as always!!! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nice review! Price is quite competitive, compared to the thumb. I do like the footage, It's quite nice. The quality is more than acceptable in my opinion.
Great Review I do like these small cameras, even though I have the Walksnail system, as they are easy to use with ND Filters with them, I have both the Runcam Pro and the older Hawkeye 4K Naked camera that's really only 2.7K when using Gyroflow What I liked about the older Hawkeye and it appears to be on the new version * Type C usb (Only ver2 USB speed) * Able to use wide range of Voltages -- unlike the Runcam pro that's only 5v * like the mp4/H.265 video format Looking at the specs of this new camera What I like (going off specs only) * 15.5g (Is that including the mount?) * The size and formfactor What needs improvement (going off specs only) * Looks like it only support upto 64G SD Card * only one ND filter?-- ND filters are hard to find after purchase, they should supply some spares, or have easy availability of them - I don't see the filters listed my themselves. * They need a better method of configuring the camera, Other than that it looks great -- love the review.
Hawkeye Thumb 4k seems like a nice budget 4k camera for around $70, a cheaper version of the Thumb Pro 4k. Use this camera and SEND IT!!!!!! Great review and flight video Albert!!!
Hi, I'm planning a weather balloon launch, and I chose a video camera like this one. I could also try using it to record video, and also broadcast live, video to the ground, using an FPV transmitter. Which one do you recommend? Which screen do you recommend me to take, to change the camera settings
The 4:3 aspect is the saver of this category of products. The thumbpro's narrow FOV needs this improvement because we are all getting the black rims top and bottom after gyroflow stabilization. 4:3 should solve the problem.
I'm very undecided, what you choose? Firefly Naked 4k v4, thumb pro or this thumb of hawkeye? In therms of day, the naked 4k v4 is very good and performance better for me, but in night my opinion is not formed
Good review and good timing as I'm wanting to buy some of these for my drones. I thinking of going RunCam Pro FPV for better quality despite this one being cheaper. I'll visit your RunCam review next. Maybe a side by side comparison between the two ? Including a DJI O3 video recording for side by side would be cool as well! Thanks for reviewing.
thanks for the review Albert as always! Based of the custom plug of the camera labeled 'video' and also the video out via usb-c: is that actually an analog video signal one could tap into and connect to a vtx ? :) If yes, could you test the latency? Thanks in advance for your answer!
Both could work depending on your needs which you did not specify. If you're just looking for pure image quality, I like the look of the RunCam more, but other people tell me they like the look of the Hawkeye more, so it's somewhat subjective.
@@AlbertKimTVI want it for Freestyle and long range drones, sub 250g. I already have a Runcam Thumb Pro V1. And I was thinking of taking V2, because of the increased FOV. And as I saw that this one came out that still has a little more FOV. Hence my question. Or do you think that it is not worth the change for the small difference there is? Or would it be a big change?
Are they using the same internals as the Nakedcam V4? Menu looks similar. If so, it might be just a 2k cam with a 5mp Sony imx 335 with a max resolution of 2592 x 1944.
The voltage is right but not sure if it has enough current available. No way to know unless you test it. Sorry, I don't have time to test that right now.

@@anfrae25 PIDs are probably too high with vibrations causing feedback to the FC gyro. Lower PIDs and also try turning air mode off.
@AlbertKimTV Ok Albert, I'll try it. Thank you for your time!

Great review of a tiny action camera that is reasonably priced with adequate image quality. 👍📸😎

Great Review
I do like these small cameras, even though I have the Walksnail system, as they are easy to use with ND Filters with them, I have both the Runcam Pro and the older Hawkeye 4K Naked camera that's really only 2.7K when using Gyroflow
What I liked about the older Hawkeye and it appears to be on the new version
* Type C usb (Only ver2 USB speed)
* Able to use wide range of Voltages -- unlike the Runcam pro that's only 5v
* like the mp4/H.265 video format
Looking at the specs of this new camera
What I like (going off specs only)
* 15.5g (Is that including the mount?)
* The size and formfactor
What needs improvement (going off specs only)
* Looks like it only support upto 64G SD Card
* only one ND filter?-- ND filters are hard to find after purchase, they should supply some spares, or have easy availability of them - I don't see the filters listed my themselves.
* They need a better method of configuring the camera,
Other than that it looks great -- love the review.

man this looks pretty good! You think this would be a good fit for a TinyHawk Freestyle 2?
It can carry the weight for sure. You'll just need to figure out how to mount it.
Hey that actually looks really good!

Is it possible to power the camera via USB cable and powerpack in the same manner that the Runcam Thumb Pro can?
👍very cool lil cam thanks for the video
To me for the price it looks amazing.
Absolutely choics for fixed wing like heewing t1 i guess❤❤
Agreed I think the runcam thumb pro has better dynamic range, I saw their video going through trees and the sky was blown out
The difference in quality is about right for the price difference IMO.
The 4:3 aspect is the saver of this category of products. The thumbpro's narrow FOV needs this improvement because we are all getting the black rims top and bottom after gyroflow stabilization. 4:3 should solve the problem.
I'll switch it to 4:3 mode next time. The downside is it can't do 4K in 4:3, only 2.5K.
would love to see a FOV comparison between this camera and the runcam thumb pro 4k
I'd love to do that too. Unfortunately I lost my RunCam Thumb Pro in a crash.
I'm very undecided, what you choose? Firefly Naked 4k v4, thumb pro or this thumb of hawkeye? In therms of day, the naked 4k v4 is very good and performance better for me, but in night my opinion is not formed
The OG thumb is very poor quality, I have oen, the thumb 4k w looks great and this looks a step between both
H265 needs approx. 55% less bandwith to offer same quality as H264. Make the math, 30 Mbps in H265 is approx. 63 Mbps. in H264.
Thanks!

I lost the Runcam in a drone crash unfortunately.
cool, i ordered two for my stereo 3d video work :)
please test the new Foxeer Donut 5145 Props !!!!!!!!!
OK!

Yeah, I'll have a follow up video on that. I'm not too confident however.
@@AlbertKimTV ouh interesting, i just saw you posted that, thanks!
I don't have a Thumb Pro, but this looks WAY better than the washed out greens I get with the standard Runcam Thumb.
I think the original Thumb was discontinued a long time ago.
Hello, what camera do you recommend? Hawkelle Thumb 4k, or Runcam Thumb Pro V2. Thank you.
Both could work depending on your needs which you did not specify. If you're just looking for pure image quality, I like the look of the RunCam more, but other people tell me they like the look of the Hawkeye more, so it's somewhat subjective.

How much does it weight naked?
Should I get the normal runcam thumb (not the pro) or the hawkeye?
I talked about that in the video. It depends on the look you're going for. I don't think the original thumb is sold anymore and is discontinued.
Can you use this with a 2S drone?
Yes, you have to make sure you supply 5v to 23v power to the camera so 2S will work.
Are they using the same internals as the Nakedcam V4? Menu looks similar. If so, it might be just a 2k cam with a 5mp Sony imx 335 with a max resolution of 2592 x 1944.
I have no idea. Looks completely different but only Hawkeye factory would know for sure.
Is it possible to connect the 5V pin of the Mobula8 FC board with the camera power?
The voltage is right but not sure if it has enough current available. No way to know unless you test it. Sorry, I don't have time to test that right now.
@@AlbertKimTV ok thanks
It is a split/naked in a new format.
I agree the WDR could be better, but i like Hawkeye for no motion blur.
Not bad image tbh.
